I wish that I had read the Yelp reviews on this dealership before I bought a car . I haven't had to finance the car in 25 years because I buy most of mine outright . Well I started my own business and I had to have a reliable car so I figured I'd give financing a shot . I walked in there and the salesman pressured me so hard I literally felt like there was no other chance if I didn't buy this car . He told me this car was a one owner car, that turned out to be Avis Rental Car. 9 months after I bought the car I had to install a new transmission. There were a few electrical issues that started 3 months after I bought the car. My high beams stopped working and the recall did not include my vehicle I sucked it up because it was my fault for not doing my due diligence. Anyway, I had to fix a few things but after the trans was fixed, she did pretty well. 3 weeks ago, because a deer just had to jump across the road, I side swiped a bridge to avoid it. Can't help instincts. So I still owe on this car and, of course, insurance didn't cover the full amount owed. I figure maybe with the measly 7 grand they decided my car was worth, I might be able to pay off what was left and just get a salvage title. The engine and trans are fine. Its mostly just cosmetic. I call Kia Finance only to be told I signed a contract (READ IT ALL OR HAVE A LAWYER DO IT) that help.me accountable for the entire contract. There was no buy out available unless I paid the remainder in the car which was about another 8 grand. I know I was naive but talk about a predatory company. I had never heard of paying all the finance charges if you paid it off early. Definitely many lessons learned on this adventure. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS DEALERSHIP TO ANYONE. I get that car salesman are there to make money but what that man sold me was just outright lies and I was ignoring enough to fall for it . Do not do what I did. Make sure that you will always read the final print when it comes to paying off your car early. When the transmission went out a few months later I actually called the dealership looking for the salesman so that I could give him a piece of my mind. Lo and behold he no longer had a job there.​​ Had I seen these helps reviews, I'd have never picked that dealership. When I called to find out old boy was let go, I explained the situation and they told me it was my problem and they weren't responsible. This statement details a highly unsatisfactory service experience I had at JTs Kia of rock Hill on November 1, 2025, with my 2020 Kia Soul. The service failures involved incorrect diagnostics, incomplete work, and misleading information from the service advisor Kelly Copeland and the mechanic. 1. I brought my vehicle to JTs Kia of Rock Hill for an alignment, an oil change, and a new tire. I explicitly informed the Service Advisor, Kell Copeland, that the vehicle had hit a large pothole, which was the cause of the alignment issue. I also asked Ms. Copeland if the technician could investigate why the low oil pressure light was not activating. Ms. Copeland's response was that the light would only illuminate if the engine was "bone dry." This information is technically incorrect and concerning, as an engine at that state would be at immediate risk of seizing. 2. The technician replaced the tire and drove the vehicle to an adjacent building for the alignment. Upon completion, my keys were returned by Ms. Copeland. As I was leaving the parking lot, I immediately observed that the initial problems persisted: the steering wheel was severely off-center, and the vehicle pulled strongly to the right. I immediately returned, and the mechanic apologized and took the vehicle back for a second alignment attempt. 3. When the vehicle was returned the second time, the alignment issues were still present. Another staff member intervened and contacted Ms. Copeland, who stated that I would need to return on a different day. I refused, as I had already paid for a service that was not rendered. Ms. Copeland then came over and informed me that the alignment could not be completed because the machine required a "software update." This explanation was dubious. The charge for the alignment was refunded. 4. Upon returning home, I removed the front passenger-side wheel (the same wheel that your technician had removed to replace the tire) and immediately identified a visibly bent inner tie rod. This finding raises two critical concerns: A. Your technician failed to notice a clearly damaged and bent component, which was the true cause of the alignment problem, even while working on that specific wheel. B. The explanation of a "software update" was verifiably false. The issue was a mechanical failure that your team was unable or unwilling to diagnose. This is further contradicted by the service report, which noted my vehicle was "out of factory specs" but failed to identify why. I have since purchased and installed a new inner and outer tie rod myself. I then took the vehicle to NTB for an alignment, and the issue is now fully resolved. The vehicle drives straight. This entire experience demonstrates a significant lack in basic diagnostics, quality control, and transparent customer communication at your service center. read more

My husband and I researched to find myself a mom car as our family is expanding. We came across the perfect used vehicle that was on JT's Kia website. We were told the car was at their Columbia, SC location. After negotiating and agreeing on add ons we agreed on a purchase price on 5/16/25. We paid $1,000 off the purchase price to have the car shipped up from Columbia. They said it would be shipped up on Saturday 5/17 and fully inspected and detailed ready to go on Monday at 9:30AM for purchase. We showed up at 9:30AM on 5/19 and the sales guy forgot we were coming and was late. We were rushed into a back room to hand over our check and sign paperwork before I was even able to inspect the car myself. Side note: one of the employees went to fill the car up with gas and couldn't get the gas door open because it was broken. We were assured this was no problem and they would fix the door at no cost to us. My husband drives the car home and discovers: -Two cracks in the windshield -No car mats -Only One Key fob with no remote start that was initially advertised -The car was not detailed As a mother to a 3 year old and another on the way. What mother would want to drive around in a vehicle that you can't put gas in, has a broken windshield, and has no spare key? Not me! After weeks of that car sitting in my garage JT's finally had us bring the car in for repairs. 6/6 JT's finally brought car in for repairs 6/20 We learned that the tint warranty we paid extra for mysteriously did not make it on the final paperwork. When we asked to see the formal quote documents they "didn't have them anymore". 6/24 We received our vehicle back with the fixes minus one promised key fob. They said the key guy only had one in stock and we will be getting another one when he is back from his vacation. 7/18 the key guy is still out of town. 8/11 I was told "we've already provided the key that we promised. You can purchase a key but we cannot make you another key." Why lie to me for weeks when you obviously knew on 6/24 I was not getting that second key? If JT's Kia of Rock Hill sells certified pre-owned cars that have gone through rigorous inspections as they claim then this car would have never have been sold to me in this condition. If this car wasn't even detailed before selling it to me I can only imagine the lack of inspection. I do LOVE my car and am grateful for the repairs that were made and that is why I gave them one star. This experience could have been very positive but it wasn't and at no point during this process did I ever feel like a valued customer. I bought a new Telluride a year ago.. best car I've ever had. But the service department is what I'm really happy with. I'm had a glitch with my electronic system,-- no speedometer, gauges, etc. I set up appointment to fix it Ali g with an oil change and tire rotation. I sat in waiting room and drank free coffee and snacks. They Let me know that it might be an overnight job. They offered a shuttle, but I live 30 minutes away. No problem, the driver took me all the way home. Three hours later, they called to inform me that it was ready. The shuttle picked me up and drove me to the dealership. Work done. No charge. Polite. Avoid this dealership at all costs. The buying experience 2 years ago was fine, but service with this dealer has been a nightmare. Have had to re-book appointments 4 time in the last 6 weeks each time for them to have an excuse why the work could not be done. Don't have the software upgrade available, internet is down. Come to express service we can do the work there, only to be told I need to book an appointment with Full Service. 2 weeks later full service tells me it is too late in the day to complete the work and I need to leave the car with no offer for a shuttle etc. Only option was to reschedule for a 5th visit. Service Employees are rude and incompetent. If I could give zero stars I would. 26 miles and 30 mins round trip on 4 tries means I wasted over 100 miles of gas and 4 hours of my time while taking 2 different days off work to have ZERO WORK EVEN STARTED!!! And the service managers suggestion was to go to a different dealership.....seriously.. I have been buying cars for over 40 years and this is by far the worst dealership experience in my life!!! read more

My vehicle was brought in because of the clutch. After being at JT Kia's service for 3 days, the car was burglarized and the steering column was broken because the doors were left unlocked. After talking with them and letting them know they were responsible for any damages, they agreed to fix the column. They were suppose to fix the clutch, but told us it was a smaller part. They replaced that part. They told us the car was ready to be picked up the first time, and the clutch did the same thing as before one mile from the dealership. We had it towed back to them. The service department "looked" over it again and could not find anything. Andre said that they drove it 19 miles and had no problems. So, we picked up again. The next day I drove the vehicle approximately 5 miles and the clutch did the same thing. When I called the service department, I was put on hold and transferred through the system. When I finally got Andre on the phone, I told him what had happened. I also informed him that we are not just talking about fixing the car, we are now talking about how I could have been driving I77 and this happened, and how that could cause me to have and accident that I wouldn't walk away from. I told Andre I would give them one more chance to fix the problem that we had already paid to be fixed and that if it wasn't fixed right I would have to call my lawyer. Andre mumbled something and hung up. If this is the type of service you get, I would suggest not seeking service from their service department. They don't seem to know what is going on. We then talked to service manager, who responded with the same lines as Andre. He then suggested that once again we have the car towed at our own exspense. At this point, we decided to get a second opinion and seek the money back for the labor, they can keep the money for the part. But they did not fix anything. With the inventory shortage, it's not unexpected to see some dealers try to take advantage of customers, and JT Kia is no exception. But they take it one step further and do this not just to inventory on their lots but also on ordered vehicles which most dealers don't attempt to do market evaluations on. This is why Kia and Hyundai have really started to voice concerns over their dealerships that are doing this and I will be writing a letter to Kia informing them of the $5,000 mark-up on ordered vehicles. read more

Keep on driving. Leasing experience was alright. Added the car care package and was told I could only use it here. When I leased, there wasn't much available and this Kia had what I wanted. They're 40 minutes away from me. Here for my first service. Made a 10am appointment. It's now 1pm and they've not started on my car yet. Ended up telling them to just do the recalls. Found out I can get service anywhere. Apparently there is only one mechanic here today, and they were booked but still took some walk-ins. Won't be back here until the lease is up and then they can have it. Won't do business here again. Also, they're having lunch and I can hear all the shit talking from the break room, including from who sounds like the manager. Highlight of the experience so far, hearing all the tea and shit talking about arguments over pizza and other things. Customers, etc... Other plus, Dallas over in service was nice. I came to get a recall fixed and over the phone they told me it would only take about 30 minutes. I had the schedule the appointment a month and a half in advance because that was the soonest opening. When I got there, I asked how long it would take and they said an hour to and hour and 20 minutes. After an hour and a half I asked how much longer it would be and it took them 20 minutes to get back to me with an answer and they said it would be another hour. I do not recommend going here, find another Kia dealership if you have a recall read more

It's a dealership, so don't expect any deals. At least they do recall work for free. The real problem with this location is the absolutely abysmal communication. I dropped my car off on a Monday morning and asked them to give me an estimate of when it would be done so I could decide if I needed a rental car for work the following day. I secured a rental car just in case and waited. Around 3pm I got a vague call saying the car should be done by the end of the day but the individual on the phone couldn't tell me anything about what was being done to my car. They excused themselves to ask the technician and said they would call back shortly. To make a long story slightly shorter, they never called back, I lost my first rental in the confusion, and I had to get an emergency rental at 9pm. I called back all week and never got a response. I had to physically show up to see that my car was done and ready for pick up. I want to start off by saying I did not have any issues with the sales girl. She was friendly, courteous, and helpful. I was looking at 2 different Nissan Armadas this morning. Took them both for a test drive. I had taken a screenshot of their website's sales price on both vehicles. The young lady asked me what I was looking for in trade in value for my vehicle which I told her. She informed me she had to get the sales manager to appraise my vehicle and work up a price. After waiting close to 35 minutes for her to return she came back with a "worked up" offer almost close to what I wanted for the trade in along with $1,000 extra discount. The problem was he "worked up" the price by over $5k on each which in turn caused the price on each vehicle to be $1000 more that the advertised price. I informed him I wanted my keys back. I want to make sure he rememhers this conversation so I told him I've made 63 trips around the sun and didn't appreciate him trying to play me. He's very dishonest and if he's a sales manager then I believe he represents the character of this company. Go somewhere else. Wow. Great response from owner. Generic. I'm not Richard. They refused to do my oil change, but yet, they changed the sticker to show that they did. Who does that? They called after 36 minutes and said, "You can come get your vehicle. It doesn't have enough mileage, so we didn't do the oil change." WHAT? The sticker says different, but two people were told this, and they're going to argue? Check out the "large print" as they say. on their website which is really the super small print that says they "are not responsible for typographical errors in their pricing" among other things. The communication process here could be better like the fact that we learned just this weekend about a reward program only because I read the signage and was curious if it was new. We purchased our road trip SUV here Oct.2016 we grabbed a 2017 and the buying process was draining like most car dealerships (not BMW, I was in and out with my 2018 & got a ton of gifts) but was well worth the negotiations and such. We honestly wasn't planning to buy that day as we were driving around for Saturday errands and heard a radio commercial with JT saying he'll pay your car payment for 1 year on all 2017 so we thought it was worth hearing in person. We had a salesperson who was new and we were her first clients and first sale. She didn't really sale anything to us we knew what we wanted and how much we wanted to pay and all the incentives that would have us walk out with the SUV. She had a ton of help which was cool since she wasn't familiar with the game. The service department is very responsive and top notch here. I enjoy their southern manners and promptness with appointments and service. The highlight of our LONG day dealing with Kia back in 2016 was the cash box where my toddler and I was able to go inside and for 1 minute catch as much money as possible and keep it. We got over $200 plus JT cut a check for our car note payment for 12 months so it was a WIN WIN. read more

Rarely surprised by dealership tactics anymore, but it was very surprising to see all of their SUV's, regardless of model, marked up by $7000 above sticker price. This was laughable. Who's going to pay luxury brand prices for a Kia!? I'm sure they can find a few suckers here & there. I recently bought a car from them. It was a base model and it doesn't have a remote key fob coming with it. So the salesman told me that they have a van on Fridays from 4-5 that can help me and make the key-fob for me. I also made sure to ask him if this base model will support a remote key-fob, to which he replied "yes". But when I started texting the sales person, he stopped replying. And didn't care at all his name is Thomas Wingate. It's like they completely stop caring about you after the sale, and don't complete their promises. So I decided to come there myself and it's a hour drive. And they key-fob guy said that I have a base model that doesn't even support a remote key-fob. Xavier Ward us an excellent salesperson. He went out of his way to be helpful! He worked hard to get us the right car and spent lots of time explaining the difference between hybrid, PHEV and EV vehicles. We had actually worked with someone that we really liked gecwi8-qohhih-Bodzikat a different dealership. They were having trouble finding the car we wanted and at the last minute, found one. We decided to stick with Xavier at JTs Kia because he was excellent at making sure you understood everything about the car. Outstanding! read more

I had 3 other quotes from dealerships in the area for a trade in, all ranging from 17-18k, I stopped by JTs KIA because they had a jeep that really caught my eye. When I asked what they'd be willing to give for my trade in, the manager took it for a spin and inspected it, quoting me 12k. I asked why and they wouldn't give me any kind of answer, I tried to bargain up some since my trade in could be sold for around 22k and they wouldn't move a dime. My wife and I bought a 2022 Seltos from here. The sales experience was on par with what you'd expect from a dealership, pressuring you to buy things you don't need and trying to get you to finance through them but nothing we didn't expect and not as bad as some places. My main issue came from when we had the car serviced the second time, after the standard service they took my car back to give it a free wash without my permission, and the company they have detailing cars did a poor job cleaning it, might be ok for a used car that has normal wear and tear, a car you'd take through an automatic wash or something, but not a new car you spent $1,000 detailing, paint correcting and ceramic coated by a professional. I don't let anyone else wash that car. It cost me $300 to fix what they did. I talked to the service manager, Ray Khan, that same day and he agreed they shouldn't have done it that way and promised to pay for whatever my detailer charged to fix it. It ended up being $300 to fix what they did, I've been in a couple of times to try and get what's owed but so far to no avail. I keep hearing that they'll hand me a check or that the GM is out or whatever. I've had enough of waiting so I decided to write this review as it seems people's word just isn't worth anything anymore. I bought a used Jeep from their Rock Hill lot. Less than 90 days later....not even time for the first oil change.....it has a MAJOR mechanical issue. I came to a dealership thinking that I would get a better quality used vehicle. It is financed for 4 yrs....and I cannot even drive it. I still feel like I was overcharged for the vehicle...$16k. I purchased it in good faith. Now they are washing their hands of it, and say there's "nothing they can do". Yes. There is. They could step up and make things right by at least helping with repairs.
