We paid $63 for what was supposed to be a "small" prom bouquet and received a 6-inch arrangement with dead flowers and only three gerbera daisies. The quality was nowhere near what we'd received before (and that bouquet was also "small" but 9 inches and much fuller). When we called to express our concern, the woman we spoke to was kind, but the fix felt like a ripoff. We brought it back in, and while the second version was larger (9 inches), they removed the gerbera daisies and replaced them with carnations--despite the clear order description that did not include carnations. We asked for pink ranunculus, tulips, gerbs, white stock, a little greenery, and no roses. Instead, they filled it with cheap flowers to bulk it up and completely ignored our original request. We understand prices have gone up, but $63 for the first bouquet was outrageous. Sadly, we won't be ordering from Klein's again.

They were supposed to fix drainage in our yard, they made it worse. The sketch was a drawing and not to scale... Especially after they removed so much dirt... When questioned, only answers given to us were not able to be backed up by industry standards. All four professionals we had take a look after the disaster was started shook their head and one was so disgusted squeezed us in between his projects that fall so we wouldn't have to go through winter with the mess Schonheit created. They might be fine with plants, they should stick with plants and stay away from hardscape & definitely don't hire them for larger projects.

I just bought 3 colorful and cheery items today, two shrubs and one small tree, and I plan to head back for 3 cherry trees before I leave town next week. I can only fit 3 trees in my car, otherwise, I would have bought a dozen fruit trees. There are so many choices of fruit trees and they all look so healthy and hearty, ready to be planted! The staff -both outside in the garden center- and inside in the check-out area- were so kind and helpful, giving me information about the best time to plant and if I need to buy two trees versus one due to the pollination issue. Such a great team here! I can't wait to come back, but I have to set a strict budget or I could spend thousands here. Prices are lower than in Chicago, by about 20%, for trees and shrubs. And the selection is immense. Each area was so well-stocked. And the compost, moss, mulch, and soil options were fab, too, and about what I'd pay in Chicago. Organic options, too.

They have the best variety of all indoor and outdoor plants. We planted bare root raspberries and strawberries last year and they have exploded this year! Nothing that we have bought has died. Then it all fell apart -- weeding cost $75 per person hour, and weeds were left everywhere. When we called about it, they came to look and said all the weeds must have grown back in the time it took them to get out to see it. Then our fall cleanup -- clocking in at $2400 -- left leaves everywhere and plants untrimmed. When we asked for them to do the job properly, they came out, said it was too windy and that must have blown the neighbors leaves into our yard, declined to do more, declined to acknowledge they could have done better, and knocked some money off the bill. So it only cost us $1600 to do a job we could have done ourselves in a couple of hours. Don't waste your money here -- you'll waste a lot of it.

The planning and installation went well even though it was a rainy season and the installation got delayed until November 2019. This spring after waiting all winter, I was eager to install some plants as the rock work looked great. One thing I didn't anticipate is that previous to their work I had a layer of black plastic down to kill weeds (plastic had been in place at least 20 months). Even though there were some holes in the plastic the soil was now microbe and invertebrate poor because of the solarization. I reached out to Avant to consult and Becky has been very responsive and helpful in working with me with plans to amend the soil. So even after Avant's project was complete they continue to be supportive and responsive in making sure their customer is satisfied and the garden is healthy. Thanks AVANT!
