We are so grateful to JQ Events for providing both rentals and staffing for our wedding. Everything was absolutely seamless from start to finish. The rentals were in perfect condition -- from the chairs to the glassware and linens, everything looked beautiful and matched our vision perfectly. The staffing team was equally incredible. The servers were professional, friendly, and so attentive to our guests' needs. They made the whole night feel effortless, taking care of details behind the scenes so we could just relax and enjoy ourselves. Our guests even commented on how efficient and kind the staff was! Our only issue was with the bartenders, they were pouring tiny shots and told the mother of the bride no, twice.. otherwise everything was great. Let me start off by saying Juanita is a sweet hard working women. It was a pleasure working with her to make my daughters vision come true for her quince. Pros. Decor came out beautiful. Got so many compliments the day of & even days after. Juanita was also able to make things happen even at the last minute. It's a family business along with the chalet event center in Rocklin. So working with her made it easy to not have to deal with an outside vendor. Cons. Little bit on the pricier side but I looked at it as paying extra for convenience which was a plus for me. Again, as I said she works closely with the venue & her decor choices are endless. Now...I initially paid for a door greeter through JQ events but he got sick the day prior. I understand things happen but a replacement would have been nice. Instead 2 of the 4 staff that were paid by me upfront to upkeep the venue that night were pulled to cover the door for a short time while wearing aprons. Not what I visioned. She did eventually refund me for that. I also had a welcome drink station in which I also hired someone who also didn't show up. A manager was pulled at the last minute to cover but it wasn't who I hired & she was only there for maybe an hour out of the 4 hours I initially paid for. She also did reimburse me for that but charged me for that hour. I was given a list of what to buy months in advance for that Welcome drink station which was supposed to be handed out to guest as they entered which was about 12-14 bottles of champagne & 12 bottles of apple cider that I no longer had any use for since I no longer had a welcome drink station person to pour & hand out drinks. I also paid for that welcome drink stations shelf, table, wood elements & ice bucket at $395 which now I also had no use for but got stuck paying as well. So I was out that money on all the bottles & that areas decor. Was not offered that money back. Not sure why that wasn't taken into consideration. I had no use for it given the fact her staff didn't show up to work it at no fault of my own. But was forced to pay it anyways. I was really looking forward to a door greeter & welcome Drink station too. It was something different that you don't see at most quinces. Also was missing decor I initially paid for but I was reimbursed for that. Was also missing a complimentary arch I was promised. With lots missing & items I had no use for at no fault of my own I also still had to pay the same delivery & set up fee of $2500 which didn't seem fair. In future I would probably only agree to deposits and not pay in full prior to event set up until I see everything I paid for. read more

Unimpressed. The day BEFORE the funeral, where Juanita was supposed to come and decorate the chapel for my grandfather's funeral, she showed up several hours late. And the chapel was supposed to close in an hour. Luckily, the chapel owners were kind enough to stay opened longer in order for Juanita to finish decorations. However, she forgot soooo many things. She had to come back the next morning, BEFORE the funeral started. However, she was late AGAIN and disrupting service. Some of my relatives even had to help her. Juanita gave the excuse that we were "unexpected," but had no problem accepting a $12k check. Eventually, she refunded us less than 1% of the check back. Completely unacceptable work. read more

Please read. I have receipts for everything stated below per request. Will include some photos. We booked with JQ events in June 2022 for my father's funeral. We paid Juanita up front for services. We will never use JQ events again for reasons listed below: 1). Juanita was 3 hours late the first day. There was poor communication on her arrival time. The funeral home gave us 4 hours to decorate from noon to 4pm. Juanita showed up AFTER 3pm. Very stressful and nerve-wrecking for the family as we had been waiting for Juanita since noon. The family assisted Juanita with off-loading the decor because we had less than one hour to decorate. 2). JQ events forgot to bring all of dad's decor including dad's PHOTOS for the memory shelf. Yikes. Therefore, Juanita said she would return the next day at 7:30am - the day of dad's funeral service. Very stressful! 3). JQ events showed up 3 hours late the second day again. Juanita provided poor communication again on her arrival time. 4). She disrupted our funeral service because she was late. Please see video i attached of her walking in with decor DURING our funeral service. ‍ Very disruptive and disrespectful as we were about to have a military honors ceremony and sing the national anthem. 5). Decor was NOT as discussed. We shared our vision/inspiration photos with Juanita. She failed to make it happen. Please see photos of our vision/inspiration that we showed Juanita vs what she provided us. 6). FYI: Juanita doesn't provide customers with a rough sketch of her vision. You just have to wait and see how it will turn out. Very nerve-wrecking. 7). Juanita is very overpriced for what we got. We paid her $12k. 8). Candles were sticky and had hair stuck on it. See photos. No extra batteries for candles so we went to buy some during funeral service. 9). Chandelier did not light up. Chandelier was barely noticeable. 10). Draping the ceiling beams was the most expensive item. Juanita charged $3,000 for draping ceiling beams but please see the photos of how the beams were "draped!" Our family was most excited about the ceiling drapes. Unfortunately, the draping was so plain and did not provide that "oomph" our family envisioned! Very disappointed. The ceiling draping is not what you see on her IG. Not only that, She said she'd drape 4 beams but only 3 beams were done. Please review photos to see how plain the draping was. We emphasized to Juanita that we want dad's funeral to be "extravagant with fullness, and elegance." The decor was PLAIN & definitely not full. 11). Family had to run out the night before the funeral to buy MORE decor to try and make up for Juanita's plain decor. So stressful! 12). Juanita didn't have a ladder to place the ceiling drapes. She had no broom, no measuring tape. Luckily, the funeral home was able to provide these things for Juanita. 13). Juanita justified her poor work delivery by saying that she squeezed us into her busy schedule last minute. read more

I was so happy I found Juanita for my Valentine's day wedding.Planned my micro wedding a month before valentine's day. I was hoping the pandemic will be over by January so we could do our destination wedding. We decided to do our wedding in our backyard instead. I had ideas but I could not put it into pictures. We hired JQ Events for a baby shower, one server for 4 hours at our home with 45 guests. The server did a great job restocking the food, drinks, cleaning and was very pleasant. Total price was $100 and we tipped $25. Cons: 1. Server was 30 minutes late. We weren't stressed about this and it ended up working out because our shower was suppose to start at 10:30am on a Sunday and guests started arriving closer to 11am. The server also stayed 30 minutes later to make up for the late arrival. Keep this in mind if you have a strict time you'd like your server to arrive. I'm sure the owner will work with you on something that will accommodate your needs. 2. At the end of the party, the server walked up to me and touched my belly without asking or my permission. I called the company to give them #2 feedback. The owner was very apologetic and said the policy is the servers are not allowed to touch the guests. (we also had a note attached to our front door before entering our home that read to not touch the hosts.) The listed cons would not prevent me from hiring JQ Events and possibly the same server again. I will hire this company for our next event and I would recommend using them. read more

I was put in charge of planning the company holiday party and I knew I was going to hire Juanita for decor. I've seen her work firsthand at various events and have worked with her before. In previous years we've spent so much on the venue that we never had any room left in the budget for decorations! I took some of my colleagues (who were also on the holiday party committee) with me to the venue (Arcade Underground in Old Sacramento). We instantly felt that a 1920s speakeasy theme would be perfect to ring in 2020! When I say Juanita and her team delivered, they f*cking DELIVERED. No joke. The venue was so extra it made my lil boujee heart scream ecstatically. We got SO many compliments and tons of people saying this was THE BEST holiday party to date. There was a red carpet leading to the main doors and it extended to a custom Gatsby photo backdrop. The centerpieces were to die for. Ostrich feathers, crystallized gauntlets with floating candles, glitz & glam EVERYWHERE. All I did was tell her my theme and she literally brought the vision to life. Beware. Juanita is dishonest. Are these ppl that's giving her high ratings even real? Are the photos she uses to promote her business even real? Did we get scammed? These were/are some of the questions that came to mind during/after working with her. She was given photos of what we wanted, it was written down what we wanted, & communicated to her many times of what we wanted. She agreed & gave us a quote. We paid. We've never done anything like this before so trusted her when we paid everything up front & before she decorated. Lesson learned. Should've paid deposit only & then pay the rest once she completed her job because once she got her money, there was very little care or consideration for us. Some examples below: She showed up over 3 hours late (40 minutes before closing time to do the job we paid her to do on the night before our event). She forgot a lot of things so said she'd return the next day before our event starts. She showed up over 3 hours late again & disrupted our event. Thinking back, she must've deliberately done this knowing we'd have little time before our event started to critique her on her poor work. We'd contact her to ask her where she was & she'd say she'll be there in 20 minutes which clearly wasn't the case at all. We hired her to help take the stress off of us but all she did was create more stress by showing up late, forgetting to bring all of the decorations for the reception area, forgetting items for a memory shelf we wanted, & making it seem like there was more decorations to be added that she simply forgot to bring. She was well-aware that the venue only gave her 4 hours (from noon to 4) to decorate the day before but insisted she'll be there by 2. But she still arrived around 3:10, giving her only 40 minutes to decorate. She didn't have the proper equipment with her, didn't provide us extra batteries for the candles that died within a few hours of being lighted, & over charged us for the poor work she put in. We also had to add our own decorations to make hers look better & not so simple. I can go on & on but her lack of professionalism & dishonesty is evident by the few things I've mentioned above. We tried to rectify the situation but she only refunded us about 11% of what we paid her. This is unacceptable. read more

We hired JQ events for my grandfather's funeral. They arrived 3 hrs late the night before the funeral to set up. The arrived at nearly closing time of the funeral home, so some family members and the funeral home staff stayed past closing time. We assisted the set up crew in carrying items out of the vans because they were late. Luckily we had stayed behind because they had tried to use black zip ties on a white beam decoration. If this is something we had not caught, it seemed as the decorating team would have left it up. This in my opinion is a small detail, but shows the team's lack of attention to detail or that they just plainly did not care. Fortunately, another member of their team prompted them to go to the nearest store to buy more clear or white zip ties after we had brought it up. We hired this company so that we did not have to stress about decorating for my grandfather's funeral while in mourning, but dealing with this events company has added emotional distress to us during our time of continued mourning and grieving. Juanita stated that we were an "unexpected" event and she had fit us into her packed schedule as reasoning for the quality of her work and tardiness. The death of our grandpa was unexpected. As a result of Juanita's tardiness the night before the funeral we were all late to the prayer gathering that was planned as a pre-funeral event. Then Juanita's team was 3 hrs late the next morning, interrupting our memorial service. We were only given a small portion of our $12,000 back after this ordeal. read more

I recently used JQ Events for my Indian wedding. The event included one 100-person event at home, a 300-person event at a temple and a 350-person event at an event hall. Juanita gave me, my fiance and my mother hours of her time understanding the fine details of my vision and making it come to life within our budget. She went the extra mile in going to decorator shows and buying the specific pieces on my Pinterest boards that I loved rather than telling me to work within her existing inventory as some other decorators do... so much integrity and class!
