We're not the kind of people who write gushy reviews. But when it comes to the Schatz Real Estate…read moreGroup, gush we must! Ted Schatz didn't just talk the talk about representing our interests. He consistently practiced what other agents only preach. He learned what matters most to us, and he went beyond published listings to help us rule out properties that wouldn't meet our needs. While Ted never substituted his own preferences, aversions, and priorities for ours, he was always delightfully candid in sharing his impressions and wisdom. When we finally decided to build a home, Ted helped us find and work with the right builder. He not only advocated effectively on our behalf, he offered valuable insights and suggestions that saved us thousands of dollars and got us more of what we wanted and less of what we didn't. One of the best things about Ted is that he's kept on keeping on! Although our new home is already under construction, much to our surprise and delight, Ted has stayed involved. At his initiative, he attends planning meetings and reviews, makes periodic onsite visits to the construction site, and seems eager to do whatever he can to make sure that the finished product will satisfy our needs and exceed our expectations. As a businessman, Ted obviously takes the long view. He seems to focus more on the journey than on the destination. Although it took us forever to find what we wanted, Ted never ever made us feel like we were wasting his time. We finished our long journey happy, grateful, and eager to sing Ted's praises. --Steve & Teresa Levinson

However, when my boyfriend closed on a house (they were also the sellers agent) the old owners were still packing up there things after closing! When we arrived to move his stuff in, the house was still full of the seller items, even a fridge full of food. Also, the house had not been cleaned AT ALL, like cat food in the bathroom and dog hair filling the kitchen! It was a really unfortunate situation for someone moving into their first home. What was expected to be such an exciting time moving in turned out to be 12+ hours of cleaning before even getting his stuff in. Like I said, the people were very kind and well educated on the area, but I expected more from them to make the moving process exciting and eas

Excellent advice and guidance through selling process. Tim is an excellent realtor and made the…read morehouse selling process as straightforward and successful as possible. He helped us buy and sell, but this review is focused on the sale of our house. This was our first time selling a house, and we were dreading the process, especially the preparations and the evaluation of (hopefully) multiple offers. Once we started the sale process, Tim walked us through all the what-if scenarios of the entire process, including prep, pre-inspection, listing, and talking through the key details that we'd look for in each offer. He suggested that we do a pre-inspection of the house, which initially seemed odd, but after discussing it a bit we thought it was a good idea. And it turns out it was a great idea, as it really enabled buyers to have confidence in the quality and lack-of-surprises in the home, enabling them to write higher offers and/or waive their inspection period. Our house received multiple offers above list price, including some with waived inspections, and we believe that was due to Tim's great suggestion to do a pre-inspection. Overall we had a good time working with Tim, he was very professional and is a reliable communicator.

Detail Oriented and Long Term Mindset…read more Tim is the most wonderful realtor to work with. He is trustworthy, has expertise, and was looking out for us throughout the process!!! My partner and I are first time homebuyers, and were also living out of state and across the country when we first contacted Tim. We chose him because he was very good with technology that allowed us to look while not physically present. Tim continued to impress with his virtual home review videos and his expert eye to see the costly flaws in a house. He was always available and eager to help! He also helped us through complex circumstances of home buying. There were a few external mishaps and Tim helped us pivot and come up with a strategy for next steps. We extended multiple offers and he made sure we weren't overpaying for anything through back and forth bartering. Some sellers didn't want to work with us or convey the full details of the house and he cut through the unwritten rules of real estate and held other realtors accountable. Tim was very knowledgeable from a contracting perspective too. He had estimated costs for repairs and a great eye to spot flaws in any house. He has a contact list for every repair under the sun and was able to get quotes quickly during the inspection period. Which saved us after a house came back with a terrible inspection! Our home buying process was complex since we initially wanted an investment property then transitioned to making it a primary residence. Tim was very patient with us. I never felt pressure to buy a house I didn't like, or extend an offer higher than I felt comfortable with. He was on our side for the 10 months we spent looking. He also responded very quickly and we were able to extend offers on a quick turnaround which is very important. We got a house we love and we will continue to use Tim for EVERYTHING real estate related!!!

Buying something as expensive and important as a house virtually seemed nuts. But as the new year began we started getting the urge to just take a look. Who knew that within just a few weeks we would have an accepted offer? There is no one else we would have felt comfortable buying remotely with. And the only reason we changed from just looking to seriously buying was because we came to trust and rely on Billy's opinions. He is not just a savvy and knowledgeable realtor, he is truly a sincere and nice guy. He would warn us that even if we lose out on a house, in the end it always works out (and SPOILER ALERT he's right). But he still commiserated with us when we were outbid and he really went above and beyond when we were searching for the right home. And he really does want to find you the right home. He will be honest with you about any negatives he sees and he will steer you away from any bad decisions. Sometimes we were so keen to just get a house that we were willing to settle or make hasty decisions. But Billy makes sure that whatever house you get is a great house and whatever you do is sound and smart. And I'm so glad that he was there with us helping make all our decisions. He would give us daily updates of his endeavors going door to door and networking with other agents. In the end it was a note of his he left on the door of a house that was off the market that did the trick. We were able to buy a house that was miles better than any of the other houses we put offers on with basically no other competition. In the crazy housing market right now you need someone like Billy who is willing to go the extra mile. He was always trying innovative techniques to help us stand out amongst other buyers and that's exactly what it takes these days. He's continued to be invaluable after closing. He was great to bounce ideas around with about updating the house after moving in and he and Heather have been great with recommendations. He is always super responsive and I'm so glad I can still rely on him even after we've closed.
