Unfortunately, it was a major disappointment. The sound quality was poor, the energy was lacking, and the singers looked visibly unhappy--texting during the performance and scowling throughout the night. Several guests even commented on how bad the band sounded, which only added to our frustration. After the event, my ex-wife contacted the management company and received a response--not from management, but from the drummer--claiming that Terrain Gardens wouldn't allow them to use their own sound system and that the singers were upset about it. If that was the case, they should have been upfront about it or declined to perform under those conditions. I'm extremely disappointed that we paid full price for what was clearly a discount performance. At the very least, we deserve a refund for what was an unprofessional and unacceptable experience that cast a shadow over a once-in-a-lifetime celebration.

We met with Marc on FaceTime/Zoom about 3 different times to share our vision and brainstorm ways to engage our guests. Marc not only listened to what we wanted, he also made some wonderful recommendations - for example, he recommended doing an anniversary dance to see who from our guests was the couple married the longest. He then asked the couple for advice for our marriage and we got a picture with them. That created such a special memory for us. We found that Marc did a great job of working the room, identifying music that worked based on the vibe and the timing of the night. He did a fantastic job of introducing the bridal parties and making announcements. He is not the type of DJ who yells into a microphone all night. Instead, he encourages guests' engagement through his tone and conviction. At one point in the night, he miscommunicated with our venue and Marc stepped up immediately. It became apparent that we would need to conduct the "glow-stick exit" but instead Marc stepped up to the plate, directed guests, and communicated with our photographers to allow us to enjoy the moment. Marc truly goes above and beyond. Marc is incredibly inexpensive as well considering he covered the music for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. And he brings his own equipment getting there in amble time to set up and break down. It's very obvious that Marc is dedicated to making those he is working with thrive - he was one of the first vendors to show up and the last to leave. We genuinely couldn't recommend DJ Marc more; he is incredibly talented and we are so grateful to have had his support and encouragement throughout the entire wedding planning process!

Professional on the phone, seemingly interested in what we wanted. Actual event was kind of 50/50. Yes, someone (who we'd never talked to) showed up on time and looked nice. Yes, he played all of our "must play" songs. But, some really bad decisions. Mispronounced my last name (which is not hard). Was distracted during speeches and let an awkward silence ring out when they were over until someone had to go up and ask him to turn on the music again. He responded, "I thought you were toasting." Yes, but we're done! I explicitly requested classical or jazz music for cocktail hour, and he played schmaltzy Kenny G. When we asked if he could put some classical on, he said he didn't have any. Finally, he played the song "Last Resort" by Papa Roach. I'm sorry, but at a wedding??? The lyrics include, "Cut my life into pieces, this is my last resort...suffocation, no breathing" etc. They did have a no-play list, but this is where we thought we had to say no to things like "YMCA," didn't occur to us that it would be not to play angry emo music. Hmmm. Finally, accepted money from an inebriated guest who wanted to "serenade" us on the microphone. TWICE. Funny now...not so much at the time. I wrote to Tom Barrett after the wedding with a comment card and full details of how we were dissatisfied. Never heard back. Would not suggest this company.

He not only played everything on our list, but did a great job of picking music in the same vein as our selections. I've received many compliments on the music selection. I also asked Ken to keep it pretty low key in terms of commentary and his approach was perfect for our event, an anniversary party with friends and family of all ages. He even downloaded some unusual late requests and played some music I brought that isn't available commercially. We set this up very last minute and while I had a small bit of trouble closing the loop with Tom, in fairness it was due to 12 days notice, just before Thanksgiving. The price was very reasonable and I would without hesitation recommend them (and especially Ken) again.

Wedding event - Barn at Lochwood - 10/15/16…read more Cannot emphasize enough the outstanding job Bob did at our daughters wedding. From the start Bob promptly answered any calls or e-mails I sent him. He was very easy to work with, he listened to our request, and he made suggestions for the better. The ceremony music was beautiful. The reception was a blast, and Bob's mix of music had everyone dancing and singing. Thanks Bob - you are a true professional.
