Disappointing Maternity & Newborn Photoshoot Experience…read more We had a very disappointing experience across both our maternity and newborn photoshoots. For the maternity session, there was no proper pre-discussion about locations or outfits. We were simply asked to choose from previously taken images, which felt impersonal. During the shoot, the session felt rushed, and the photographer appeared disengaged, as if they wanted to finish early. From a 2-hour session, we could barely select around 10 usable images, which reflects the overall quality. We also noticed technical issues with the camera, including frequent error messages during burst shots. For the newborn session, we had informed them in advance that we would be about 30 minutes late due to our baby's doctor appointment. Despite this, one of the planned props was removed, which felt inflexible given the circumstances. There was also a significant delay of about four weeks beyond the expected timeline in delivering the edited images, without clear communication or accountability. After delivery, communication continued to be frustrating. We received emails indicating additional charges if image selections were not made within 30 days, which felt pressured--especially considering the delay in delivery was on their side. At the same time, when we requested a re-edit for one of the selected images, we had to follow up multiple times and did not receive timely responses. Additionally, some comments made during the newborn shoot were uncomfortable and inappropriate. Remarks about the baby's skin tone and comments regarding the mother's feeding choices were hurtful and unexpected, especially for a one-month-old baby. We expected a much more respectful and sensitive environment. There was also no prior discussion about props for the newborn shoot -- only a couple of setups were pre-arranged, and we felt limited to those options. Similar to the maternity shoot, the overall photography quality did not meet expectations. From a 1.5-hour session, we could barely select around 15 images, and the editing felt very basic, with some images appearing minimally edited. Given our experience, the overall service felt unprofessional, inflexible, and lacking in quality. These are once-in-a-lifetime moments, and we expected a much more thoughtful, skilled, and supportive experience. Also, please don't go based on Instagram followers alone -- our experience did not reflect the expectations set by their online presence. If you are looking for a photographer who communicates well, provides guidance, and creates a comfortable and enjoyable session -- especially with a newborn -- this may not be the right fit.

The photo taking went well and they sent me a text telling me the vision/ editing we agreed on, very clearly. Fast forward 8 weeks I did not receive my pictures. Another week later (9 weeks after photo selection), I messaged them and received no response.. a few days later I messaged again. After an email as well I TRULY thought I had been scammed. Finally I call and was told they'd text me that day to give me an update, guess what? NO update. I texted them again the next day as a reminder and FINALLY I was told it would take another few days. At this point my newborn was a week or two old and there was no chance I'd even considering a new born photoshoot with them. I find it super unprofessional when there is a lack of communication. In my attempts to reach out I clearly said to just let me know if more time is needed, that could've required a simple 5 word sentence, "we need more time, sorry!". Especially if it's past the time frame you say photos will be done. Finally I received my pictures, which are NOT edited the way we agreed on.. Sure, they corrected the background to a few and added a few edited photos but that seems like a bare minimum. The edited photos just looked blurred with a background added, no further editing was done. (For example, my lighter skin belly didn't match my face, my undergarments were clearly visible-other maternity photographers will add a shadow). I later realized another picture was not edited the way we agreed on and of course, I've been ghosted yet again after 1 month- no response... I'm a reasonable person but ultimately the price, time to receive the photos, lack of communication, poorly edited photos have resulted in me feeling pushed to share this experience. I don't recommend them.

I really appreciate his easy going personality and he made us feel comfortable during photos and gave us really good poses/pointers. I loved that he would show us little snippets during the shoot to show us how the photos were turning out as well. He was so kind, friendly, professional and all the great things you want in a photographer capturing your special moments. I believe he finalized edits and sends within 3-4 weeks and I can't wait to see. Bonus was that he sent over more than 10 sneak-peaks within 24 hours!!! This was so awesome and we were able to use right away to announce our marriage. All in all, so impressed with Justin. He's a gem and I'm looking forward to continue using him for our future shoots!!

My husband greatly appreciated Justin's recommendations for photo ideas. For our wedding, Justin and his second photographer were nothing short of amazing. Justin was able to use the venues spaces very creatively and effectively--I was very impressed with Justin's ability to stage us and our family and wedding party without having seen the venues before. The photos made me appreciate the venues in ways I had not thought of. Justin was able to turn around two photographers' and 10 hours worth of photos in 2 weeks. We were very impressed! Justin has a way of making people feel comfortable. That was true of my husband and me, as well as our wedding parties and families. The end result was amazing photos that we love, and our friends and family have told us look great. We are so happy we got to work with Justin and his team!

It felt like they were simply extensions of our family during the wedding- from having fun with us as we got ready, making sure we had the chance to eat our own food during out appetizer/cocktail hour (seriously, Vince brought me over TONS of each appetizer we served WHILE Denise photographed us!), to handling our *sometimes* overbearing guests/wedding team. He has only grown in his craft and truly has a gift for making people feel comfortable in front of the camera. A couple of weeks before the wedding, we walked through a timeline of what we needed and Tam recommended that we tailor our package down from a 10 hour package to an 8 hour one since we wouldn't have getting ready photos, didn't have a bridal party, and opted to just dance the night away once 7 PM hit. I really appreciate that he doesn't shy away from making recommendations based on his experience and what your unique day will look like. The day of, Tam and the second photographer, Mike, were at the AirBnB early and helped my then fiance and I stage a first look photo. We also had an opportunity to take individual photos, photos with his family and also his college friends. Given how rainy the weather was that weekend, I was a little worried, but Tam and Mike were not deterred. They provided multiple options with attention and care paid to making sure my long dress stayed as clean as possible. I was also thankful that they directed us through poses because we definitely had no idea what we were doing, lol. After these initial photos, they met us at the church we were getting married at and took photos of the venue and of my side of the family. During our initial call, I asked Tam about his advice for how to not get our pastor in the first kiss frame. Tam remembered this conversation and made sure to note that to the pastor so that he would be able to get a clean photo. Group photos followed after the ceremony and then they headed to the venue to get cocktail hour shots. Since we didn't have a wedding party, a lot of things were candid. At one point I thought about greeting the tables during dinner but we ended up opting out. I later found out from our guests that Tam and Mike were really proactive and made sure to ask for group shots whenever they could. Before dancing started, Tam and Mike discussed pulling us aside at around 8 PM to head outside into the rain to get some nice photos with clear umbrellas and a strong flash. However, around 8 PM, there was no getting my now husband off the dance floor and we scrapped it. I really appreciate Tam and Mike's flexibility with us and ability to offer suggestions, but also respect how we were feeling at any given point. Before they left, Tam gave me an estimated date of when we'd get photos back which I really appreciated. From start to finish they were a real pleasure to work with and I would highly recommend Tam for weddings, family photos, glam shots, etc.

We have heard horror stories about vendors regarding unexpected changes due to Covid-19, and felt SO fortunate to be working with Tam throughout this experience. When our long-awaited wedding day finally came, Tam was a superstar. He was efficient in coordinating the appropriate people and poses. We had our Viet/Chinese traditional wedding where we had to wake up bright and early (5AM). 102 team (We had Hy, Jason and Huu) arrived on time or even earlier and started taking pictures as I was getting ready... The day was long - approx 16 hours and they were there throughout it all... I didn't have to worry about them, they followed us around like we were Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt making us feel like celebrities...The end result -- the photos came out beautiful and my parents were very please.... NOTES TO THE BRIDES - You want a photographer who you can trust and not worry at all. The best investment you can make is to book this talented team. They were truly one of the vendors I had no worries and exceeded all my expectations.
