First off, this was exactly what I pictured the inside of a chocolatier shop in France to look like. It's a corner shop, clean big windows with lots of natural lighting and f*ckin beautiful works of edible art on display. Everything wowed me from their macarons to their truffles and candied fruits. You could see their pride in each creation, each piece was to be treasured by someone. And that someone, on September 12, 2009, happened to be me! I picked out way too many things, but it was all necessary to hold me over for our 9 hour train ride to Barcelona.
They had salted caramel truffles that were unreal- sweet stretchy and bitter all at the same time. Their chocolate covered nuts had me crunching, breaking, and savoring. Their colorful fluffed crispy airy macarons brought tears to my eyes. With their truffles of flowers in jasmine, rose, and lavender, I was off in lala land, floating on clouds with Chopin's Nocturne in E-flat Major playing as I was picking petals off a daisy, not asking, but screaming, "You love me, you really love me!" Light was shining down from heaven as I was experiencing such unbelievable things enter my mouth; this much pleasure was ungodly!
Then I was jolted back by our train stopping with an announcement of Marseille. I sighed and muttered, "Vouloir, c'est pouvoir". I will experience heaven once again.
