If you're not sure he's good with the recommendations as hes been cutting hair for a while now. Love going to his private room and a super chill vibe throughout the haircut. I really didn't want to leave a review, but every time I look in the mirror, my confidence drops to zero, and I'm just left punching the air. Now I have to wait 6+ months for my hair to grow back . [[HIGHLIGHT]]Long story short, I came in wanting a two-block haircut, but Jason said a tapered style would suit my hair better.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I trusted his recommendation because he promoted himself as a barber who knows Asian hair.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Unfortunately, I ended up with this cut , and I wasn't happy with the result. I get regular haircuts from Jason. When I first moved here, one of the first places that I wanted to scope out was a barber that would specialize in asian hair. My hair grows out really quickly, it's thick, and when cut the wrong way, it sticks straight up. Classic asian hair problems. I took a chance on Jason seeing he was one of the very few asian barbers nearby in the area, and I'm so glad I did. I go straight to Jason every month now. He nails my cut every time. I get a zero fade on the sides and trim the top. He always uses thinning shears for the top, which I appreciate because I have way too much hair. If I could give 5.1 stars, I absolutely would! I went to California for vacation but haven't gotten a haircut in a long time. Looked like a bowl of messy spaghetti flopped all over my head and assimilated to my scalp. I panicked and tried to find any barber that would take me. All barbers and hair salons turned me down. I was very disappointed and felt like I couldn't show my face around those parts of town. I was on my phone, booking the next flight home as I felt unwelcome, ashamed, and abandoned when I got a recommendation from one of my friends in the area to check out "Jason Young Park". I unassumingly stumbled into Jason's Chop Shop, hair disheveled and life a mess. Immediately, I felt a deep shaking in my soul as I crossed the threshold of this establishment. To call it a barber shop would be a great disservice to the institution that I found myself in, and an undeserved compliment to any other competing salons that dare even to advertise the same service as Jason. Somehow, I knew my world had shifted at that very moment. Jason, more chiseled demigod than human, was the only one in the store, almost like he had expected me. He welcomed me in with a smile that etched itself permanently into my vision and ushered me into a waiting seat. Although I had never laid my eyes on this Michelangelesque masterpiece of a man before, he began conversing with me as if my life was laid out before him, awaiting his tender caress to give it value. He didn't need to ask me what kind of haircut I wanted. Jason knew best. He wrapped me in his silken cape that spoke of wonders untold and held his scissors to my eagerly awaiting hair. Reader, I am not exaggerating when I say that my life is now separated into two parts: before Jason began cutting my hair, and after he began cutting my hair. I saw colors I've never seen before, heard symphonies every time his scissors snipped shut. When he turned on his clippers, I saw volcanoes and earthquakes rend the Earth apart, only for it to be stitched back together by the teeth of Jason's comb. At one point, I'm pretty sure he started whispering sweet nothings into my ear. After what seemed like an instant but also an eternity, an eternity that I never wanted to end, he stood back and admired his work. I looked in the crystal pool that served as his mirror and for the first time, saw myself the way Jason saw me. Not only did he somehow lengthen my hair at some points while fading it to the micrometer at other points, but he fashioned a full suit of armor with the hair he cut off. I was also a foot taller and glowed softly with a gentle light. Jason smiled that brilliant, galaxy-stopping smile, and caressed my cheek which was now wet with my sobbing in awe and disbelief. I was not in Jason's Chop Shop anymore. I was floating through oblivion with him. I saw the universe being made by a flick of his scissors, and it ending with the swish of his brush. I saw people falling in love, wars ending, history being made and unmade, all before me. He didn't ask for payment. I was always welcome. Jason's Chop Shop was my home. It's your home. As I reluctantly left the place I was born again, I thought I saw Jason shed a single tear. He was proud of me. Of all my failures and successes. He loved me. I love you too, Jason. I've received multiple haircuts from Jason's Chop Shop and I can absolutely say that this man knows what he's doing. I also really enjoyed talking with him and getting to know him. It never really feels like I'm getting a haircut, but instead, I'm hanging out with a friend. I definitely recommend people to come and get a haircut here. read more
