For example, they don't bother explaining the process to you at all. The woman there mailed me forms with all of my sensitive information on them without sealing the envelope. No real apology. Just excuses, an attitude, and telling me, "I'm only human." When you work at a law office, or any office where you're sending people's SS#, address, etc... Perhaps you should triple-check. I would've gotten fired for less working in healthcare. I spent so much time filling out paperwork, listing every doctor and clinic I've seen in the past few years. Let's just say that list is very long, and due to my disability, it is extremely difficult for me to remember things, and it takes me longer to gather information. I also signed a medical records release form in addition to a contract and other forms. Everyone I've talked to states their attorneys do all of the paperwork (which is why they hire them). Not this one. I wrote to the woman who works there, since I was told multiple times I would not be speaking to JP Gustad until "I guess when you go to court," and asked her about next steps/what to expect. Again, why am I having to do this? She then tells me what I already know. The date I appealed, and about how long it would take SSA to make a decision. That's it. Nothing about what they will be doing to help the outcome of said decision. Then she tells me to provide them with a list of doctors I've seen since MAY of this year. Unbelievable. What exactly is this firm doing? Had I not written to her, we all would've just sat around and waited for the SSA denial. I respond to her, pointing out how they should be retrieving my medical records and asking what they will and will not be doing so I'm aware. Low and behold, a call comes from their office. I'm unable to answer. Then I receive an email from Mr. Gustad. He asks me which of three doctors would support my disability diagnosis. I explain (in detail) each of their strengths & weaknesses, if you will. I, like almost every other person with disabilities, have doctors who don't really advocate for us, don't know much about our conditions, and leave us to fend for ourselves. I receive a very curt email from Gustad's office today (so they can communicate when it's on their terms) informing me that he will no longer be representing me (was he doing so before?). My advice is to pick literally any other firm. The red flags were there. If an attorney can't be bothered to do the bare minimum, you're better off on your own. Lastly, he sent me a text message as soon as I filled out the contact form on their website. Eager to get business, but that's about it.

She introduced me to their unique firm model: "We hope you don't need our services, but if you do, we aim to alleviate your distress by managing the paperwork and the interactions with the insurance company, ensuring a smoother claims process ." Navigating the complexities of my claims was far from straightforward. My previous experience as an insurance agent made dealing with standard insurance practices somewhat familiar, yet being out of the field for several years and facing disabilities complicated matters significantly. I faced executive function challenges that transformed what was once an easy task into a daunting one. Many individuals underestimate the necessity of legal representation until they find themselves in a critical situation. I highly recommend reaching out to this firm, especially if you are a Washington State employee or affiliated with the University of Washington SEIU925. I've contacted several long-term disability firms before, only to find them dismissive and focused on profitability, where communication is limited to operators rather than legal experts. As a military veteran who has struggled with medical claims in the past, this firm stands out as my sole recommendation. I believe their expertise could extend beneficially into areas such as Privare-STD and LTD. I feel fortunate to have connected with Angela; knowing that the Roy Law Group will advocate for me in case my claims are denied or face challenges provides significant peace of mind. My endorsements are selective, and I don't easily offer my recommendations, but this team has truly impressed me. Vietnamese, and refugees or immigrant, friendly business. #ltd p.s. We made the decision to work with Aaron and it was the best decision we have made in trying to receive a claim from my insurance company.  I wish we would have done that a year earlier which would have eliminated a lot of grief for us.  Insurance companies are happy to take your money for the coverage, but fight like hell to not pay out on a claim.  I learned that the hard way. However, Aaron took on my case and positive things began to happen immediately.  Working through Terri G., Paralegal for Aaron Engle Law, we completed physical testing, documentation and information to help Aaron and team with my case.  Terri kept me informed all along the way of where we were on the process, which is something I need no mater what the issue is in my life.  After completing all of the needed information, Aaron was successful in getting the denial of my claim overturned; I was paid all of the back benefit I was owed, and am now receiving monthly disability benefit payments, which is going to be a financial lifesaver for my family. I can't thank Aaron and Terri enough for what they have done for me.  I also have a big thank you for Alisha, the bookkeeper at AEL who kept me informed about all things financial relating to my case. This was an excellent experience and I would recommend Aaron Engle and his team to anyone fighting for a disability claim.

I am so grateful for everything he did for me. I was being charged with Obstruction of Law Enforcement. From the first time we spoke on the phone, I was totally confident in my case. I trusted Paul would work in my interest for the best possible outcome (a dismissal). And that's just what he did! Although I was prepared to go to trial, Paul's hard work proved successful when the judge and prosec attorney agreed to Paul's motion for dismissal. Happy Day!! So, don't wait. Call him now! From our first call, Alex had already read everything I'd sent him and thought about it. He walked me through the reality of the situation -- what might work, what was unlikely -- and proposed a strategy. The haze around me started to lift, and I knew I was in safe hands. Throughout, Alex kept me up to date, building trust and explaining the strategy behind every move. When things felt terrifying I could confidently press ahead with this unflappable ally -- whether things looked hopeful or harrowing, he was coolheaded at every turn. Alex didn't just win my case. He gave me my life back. If you're reading this, you're probably where I was -- scared, overwhelmed, and not sure if it's even worth the fight. It is. Call Alex. You're going to be okay.

Alex Higgins cannot be recommended highly enough…read more From the moment you meet and talk with him, there is no doubt that you are working with someone who is intelligent, thoughtful and very skilled as a lawyer. He is highly organized and has an astute attention to detail yet doesn't get so lost in the details that he misses the broader picture. I never expected to find myself in a situation where I would need to find a lawyer. I'm not sure anyone really ever does. As a physician, I had no idea where to start and felt completely out of my element, until I met Alex and we reviewed the case. In our initial discussion, I immediately knew that Alex was someone I could trust. He was respectful and professional but also made it very clear he wasn't going to tell me what I wanted to hear. He was able to explain complicated law in a way that I could understand. During our meetings, it was clear that he was listening and had truly taken the time to understand the details. Never did I feel rushed or dismissed. I felt heard and taken care of like I imagine my patients want to be heard and taken care of. As my case progressed, Alex had the insight and professionalism to recommend that I continue my case with a more specialized firm instead of attempting to keep the work for himself and potentially do a lesser job. Regardless, even with the more specialized firm taking over my case, I continued to go back to Alex time and again with questions and concerns. I felt that his judgement and honesty could not be rivaled and it was comforting knowing Alex was still there. Ultimately, Alex and I decided to bring him back onto my case as co-counsel because I trusted his skill and expertise too much to not have him on the case. No one wants to go through this experience, but I feel incredibly lucky to have found Alex. It is in the rough times that the great people show themselves. Alex is one of the great ones out there.
