I wouldn't have hired a day of coordinator had our venue not made it mandatory, as most do. Weddings can be wonderful even if a day of coordinator is not good (ex. My best friend/sister got married at Casa De Romantica and her DOC was nowhere to be found basically all day but everyone at the venue/other vendors were so on top of it didn't affect her day whatsoever) I can safely say I highly recommend JNC regardless of it being mandatory or not especially IF you are getting married at The Casino San Clemente or at a venue with lack of organization or professionalism like The Casino San Clemente. 2/16/2020 Wedding My wife and I had booked The Casino San Clemente for our wedding venue and a requirement was hiring a Day of Coordinator. Being in the beginning phases of wedding planning and thinking we can handle the workload to come we thought to ourselves, really necessary huh? Well we're glad it was because it lead us to Joy N' Company and specifically Rachel Salas. In simple terms, Rachel ended up being our MVP for our entire wedding. Day of Coordinator is an understatement. She went above and beyond and assisted with being the organized support my wife, Amanda, and I needed. We constantly communicated via phone and email, while also having three in-person meet ups. Rachel was awesome in preparing a schedule for the big day, estimating how long each portion would take, and providing room arrangement ideas among other planning strategies. She was easy to work with, super friendly, had a positive attitude even with curveballs we brought and she was always quick to respond. On the final phases of our wedding is when we truly saw what a workhorse Rachel is. First, the final meet-ups. She showed up for the final walk through for our venue and we discussed decorations, arrangements and set up with The Casino and our caterer. Here she made sure everything lined up correctly with our overall vision. Next was our last meeting with just Rachel. Here we literally walked through the entire wedding (verbal of course) and fine tuned every detail including if something went haywire. Overall, this made us feel super confident our wedding would run smoothly. Well the weekend came and it all ran perfectly! The day prior Rachel even met up with us to scoop up decorations, signs, table arrangements, photos, desserts, games we had custom prepared for the wedding. She insisted it would be taken care of and that to relax and focus on prep for your special day! Seriously, top class customer service and generosity. On our wedding day Rachel worked so well with all our vendors to make The Casino San Clemente look and feel grand. She even found the right moments to rehearse with all parties who were apart of the ceremony entrance. Everything went better than expected and we ended up always being ahead of schedule. My wife and I truly had a wonderful time throughout the day. From our emotional ceremony, beach side bride and groom pic session, hearing how fun Cocktail hour was, mariachi grand entrance, our unorthodox first dance, toasts and speeches, to the dance floor fiesta extravaganza. All of this because of the amazing work of Rachel Salas. Also she brought an assistant day of, Emily I believe, who showed similar kindness and hard work. Only mistake was on our end when we forgot to say goodbye and thanks in person while clean up happened. We worked with Michelle at JNC as our day of coordinator for our wedding in November 2019 at the Mission Basilica in SJC and La Ventura Event Center in SC for our reception.
