The landscaping and upkeep is quite impressive as I found the park to be clean with the trails paved and grass cleanly kept. All the other reviews can attest to the beauty of this park. Price is actually quite cheap for the wonderful experience. There are many challenging holes and some easy ones too. One problem is that sometimes balls can get lost, but it is easy to replace them. Overall, highly recommend this place for people looking for a fun time in Laredo.

There's plenty of sites to set up vehicles and tents with hookups, picnic sites, showers, and trails to the lake for fishing and hanging out. There's also trails for biking/hiking where you can enjoy the scenery and sounds of nature. Many people commented about how dirty it can be. Fortunately, I did not encounter any of that during my visit. But I know the frustrations. People need to clean up after themselves as this nice park and camping destination is for everyone. I hope the visitors treat it that way.

There is also a large lake for boating and swimming (at your own risk as there are no lifeguards). Lots of shaded picnic and grilling areas, and a couple playgrounds. Inside the Ranger Station at the front entrance you can buy a Texas State Park passport. A page is devoted to each state park where you can make notes of what you did or saw and get your book stamped. If you visit a park in 2023 you can also purchase a Centenial I was at this park "collecting bugs" (taking snapshots) so my kid could identify them on a bug identification app. Found some exciting specimens that I have never come across before!! There are also a lot of birds and some other wildlife, of which I found footprints. It was really hot that June morning and I think the animals were smarter than me and hiding from the heat. This park is really good but could use a little more funding or updates. There's an unused building at the top of the hill that would make a very cute gift shop or exhibit area if someone could refurbish it and add in some cooling system. The narrow dirt trails were nice but should probably be designated either for mountain biking or for walking as a couple of bikes came upon my suddenly in areas of heavy vegetation. I'm glad I didn't step in front of them. (If there are some Girl Scouts out there, maybe you could campaign to get some local companies to come together and fix up some stuff at this gem of a state park.)

The Laredo Athletic Complex offer training for various indoor sports such as volleyball,…read morebasketball, and Taekwondo. The staff is very prófugo the athletes and the parents. I called once to voice a concern regarding the parking lot's entrance and exit that were not labeled, therefore cars/parents would fight to get in our out of the parking lot using the same gate. The staff placed huge signs assigning an entrance and an exit. I was so happy to see that they listened to their customers. It's just SAD that parents don't read the signs now, actually they IGNORE the signs and use the exit as an entrance and the entrance as an extortion whenever it's convenient for them. This is an accident waiting to happen. The staff is awesome, the customer stubborn!

Huge, very long colorful parade with nearly 200 floats, marching bands , dignitaries and young women in extraordinary, extravagant gowns, hand sewn -each and every detail from lace to brocade to delicate pearls, jewels and sparkles. It was reported that the gowns run between 15K and $30,000. I can't imagine wearing something like that. They were exquisite. They looked very heavy and each young lady had a specially creative pair of shoes with her outfit and as the floats went on down the line they would periodically move their skirt up to where they could put their feet up so the shoes could be visible. The shoes evidently are a huge crowd pleaser..... the cheers and clapping and the clapping and ooohs and ahhhhs would just get louder and louder the more they would show the shoes to the audience. The streets were packed. There were sections of bleachers where if you are willing to go at six in the morning and stand in line to try to get a seat in that area it may be better than trying to look for your own place on the street. It was evident that a lot of people spend the night to have the absolutely best view. This parade honours Martha Washington. I'm not sure of the whole history as I need to do some more research on it but along with all the beautiful gowns that were in the style of that era, there was a handsome young man that accompanied each young lady on the float and the young men were dressed as you would expect in an outfit looking very much like what George Washington would have worn, right down to the wig. Since Mexico was just across the river there were VIPs, school children, and bands from Mexico that participated as well. It was one of the most unique parades I have ever seen!

Even though the gym has its rough days, I would still recommend it and bring others here. Whether you're interested in basketball, swimming, or working out, there are plenty of options to stay active. It would also be great if they had an Instagram account to reshare members' progress and experiences. Seeing others enjoy the gym and achieve their goals could help inspire and motivate the community.

However, the women's room is filthy, the floors or equipment do not get cleaned and it shows. The room has the necessary equipment for a good workout. And just like any other gym the ladies leave the weights and trash everywhere. I prefer working out in the main floor. The people are friendly and the staff is constantly cleaning on the main floor. Love the vibes!!
