I've since been to both the 10:30 a few times and their 9:00 AM a few times. Both a little different, but also the same. Good praise and worship time, great lessons, and most importantly, lots and lots of people being real. I don't do the brain-wash or the "leave your house in your will to us" stuff; I just like to go and give Him praise and glory. What a phenomenal place to do just that.

The worship is moving and current and appeals to also every type of person which is hard to find in a church. Pastor Darin makes everything relevant and applicable to working the message into the week. New Life helped start Refuge but it has a different flavor because it has a kind of Urban feel to the place. The parishioners are from all walks of life. So weather a person is professional, a musician, in recovery or white collar or blue collar, Refuge is for anyone which gives a special feeling of its own. God's word is the core and taught in a balanced way that is spirit filled and believes in our triune God who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Right now Refuge is growing and meeting at The God Rock Cafe. There mission is just to love on the city of North Everett and the surrounding area by doing outreach, missions, events, connecting with businesses and schools. Money helps, but Jesus never sent the basket around again after getting the 5 loaves and 2 fishes saying that it won't do, he needed more. If we are to be Christs representatives on this earth, we should act the same way and have faith that God will make miracles happen when we just step out and believe that He who created the universe out of nothing can also use us in a miraculous way.

Venture is a "come as you are" church where everyone is accepted wherever they are at in their journey of faith. The worship is powerful and authentic, I love the song selections. The messages are relatable and engaging and biblical-- I love it when they do message series' through books of the Bible--and I always leave with an actionable next step to go deeper in my faith. My daughter (who is 3) LOVES our kids ministry and Pastor Kaeli and the teachers. She comes home with fun crafts that they have made in Kids Church and can (normally) communicate a Bible story or truth she has learned from that Sunday. I also find her singing the songs days later. Highly recommend checking out Venture.
