My biggest regret in wedding planning is not hiring Josy as my first vendor. I am a bride on a budget and didn't believe that I have the money to hire a wedding planner in my budget. Little that I know that the savings she has helped me with was more than her price. I was still blessed that I got the chance to work with her halfway through my wedding, by that point I had overpaid for my florist, didn't negotiate with the venue maximally and almost retain a DJ that I was not too crazy about. Josy is so generous with her time and smiles, she is so easy to work with and has found me vendors that is also easy to work with. Brides please do not do what I did, do not retain someone just because they are your family friend. Weddings are expensive and an unclear contract means you are at the mercy of your vendors. Finding the dress is the easiest and best part of wedding planning. Everything after that consist of the dull and scary chore of reading contracts and making sure you are not had by your vendors. Josy renegotiate the contract with my venue, found me a new florist at half the price, found a cheaper and nicer DJ, found me a lighting and decoration guys and got me all this extra stuff ; she drove to every meeting with vendors, read the contract and even negotiate with them. Not to mention she is generous with her time and hugs -trust me you need it after a while. She drove with me to downtown LA and came up with saving tips during my florist meeting. She also took me to the wholesaler and we found everything under the sun. she also stop me from buying certain things downtown since she could get it cheaper elsewhere. I wished she could help organize my life too and read all of my other contracts =) . I love Josy and I think she deserves 10 stars for saving me from unscrupulous vendors. read more

Josy was a heaven sent. Up until I hired Josy, I really was planning my wedding all by myself. My mother passed away several years ago, and in many ways Josy was there in the moments I needed my mom. I hired Josy as a day-of wedding planner, but the months leading up to my wedding, she was available whenever I needed her. On three occasions she made herself available to meet me after her working hours to accommodate my schedule. She provided me with a very helpful timeline for the months leading up to the wedding and followed up monthly to check in on my progress. She stepped in to help with contract issues with the venue, I always felt like Josy was on my side and all she ever wanted to do was make me happy. However, she is frank and honest, if there was something that was impossible, or couldn't be done, she would be honest and say so. I appreciated this so much. On my wedding day Josy was in her element! She ran my wedding from setup to take down. She packed all our gifts in our car, she made sure we actually ate by dodging guest who tried to come up to our sweet heart table, she made sure I was drinking water, and also fed me cake while I was too busy dancing. I was so happy not to be hungover the day after my wedding, I credit that to Josy, for making sure I ate and also drank water. You would think at 33 I would know how to do this on my own, but once the party started, all I wanted to do was dance and drink wine. Overall, our wedding was lovely and our family and friends had a great time! Her flower arrangements are lovely and her staff was kind and helpful. Josy was very accessible leading up to the wedding, however the days of the rehearsal dinner and the day of the wedding she was disorganized and hard to reach. My husband is Brazilian so I thought it would be a good idea to hire a Brazilian wedding planner to help facilitate communication between Brazilian groomsmen, family and guests. However, it didn't pan out that way at all. Her accent was too thick for most of my American family and bridesmaids to understand so I ended up doing double duty as translator. Rehearsal was so disorganized that I eventually had to lead it because 1) She sent out a blast email that most of our bridal party did not receive 2) her voice is too soft to be heard and 3) no one could understand what she was saying Brazilians or Americans. She kept telling everyone to be quiet because she has a soft voice, but I kept thinking if you have a soft voice and have been doing this as long as you have, why haven't you invested in a small PA system or a megaphone to communicate with authority and clarity. Finally, at the plea of our bridal party and parents I had to step in and direct the entire rehearsal. We then left the rehearsal with an agreed call time for the following day (wedding day) for noon. However, she later sent out an email changing the call time but several people did not receive the email so we now have our wedding party pictures missing TWO of our groomsmen. Pictures that we will never be able to have. Day of the wedding, I called her constantly with now response until 30 minutes before the ceremony. She forgot to include the corsages for my mother-in-law, sisters-in-law and grandmother. She forgot the memorial flowers for our deceased grandparents and she forgot the wedding programs and fans that we spent money on. The groom's cake picture I sent to her on several occasions was not the same groom's cake that we received, albeit still a lovely/cute one it wasn't what we asked for. So all-in-all I think she is a great florist and a decent planner but she really needs to work on communication leading into the wedding and REALLY work on the details! I was just really surprised with her years of experience that so many things would fall through the crack at the end. I'll say it again, we had a great time, the band was great, the setting was lovely and it was an open bar, but I expected more from what she explained to me at the beginning of our contract. I know she will strive to do better in the future because she is a very hard worker and really wants a happy client. read more

I have to give Josy 5 stars. I met Josy last month when I was invited to my sisters 4 hour food menu tasting for her wedding. Josy is such a small little thing but she has a HUGE personality and it is awesome to see her put all that energy into whoever her client is. She even came to the event professionally dressed to match our company colors .It really made our company image attractive and professional. I contracted josys events to help me throw my girlfriend a surprise party, surprisingly enough I got Josy herself, not an assistant or employee. She was very professional and helped me come up with a theme and ideas for food, she also helped me on deciding a budget. Day of the event I took my girlfriend to Disneyland all day and trusted josy to come through for me. This was all done at my house, in the back yard. I was worried because it had begun to rain but when I arrived with my girlfriend everything was done beautifully! With wine bottles on the tables with candles and she had even provided some tents to keep everyone dry. Absolutely fantastic planning and decor! I've recommended her to a few friends and she has done some great weddings for them as well. Super reasonable pricing, extremely friendly and creative! I met Josy a few months ago, looking to secure an event planner for my husband's 60 Birthday party at our home. Josy did great work as our halfway wedding planner and day off coordinator for our June 13, 2015 Wedding. During the early planning of my wedding i had decided i was not going to have a wedding planner because i thought i could do it all by myself but I was wrong. I started getting very stressed out and I felt that I had nothing done. Thats when my husband decided he would hire a wedding planner to help me with all the stress. We talked to a couple and he was mainly not convinced. Then we met with Josy and from the initial meeting my husband felt confident she would be the one to help me deal with everything. That same day we talked everything wedding related and I felt I got more stuff done in those 2 or 3 hours we spent with her that day than I had gotten done on my own in 3 months. Josy knows what she's doing and she gets things done. She replied promptly to my messages and returned my call right away when I would call her. For a bride that is very important, you will go crazy if people don't respond right away lol. I don't consider myself a bridezilla but i was definitely a procrasinator lol Josy helped keep me on track with everything i needed to get done. On the day of the wedding not once did i feel like things where not going to get done, she had everything ready to go and I never had to worry about anything related to the planning or the vendors that day. I totally recommend her as a planner and whenever i need a planner in the future I will definitely look for her. She is also a florist and I do regret not hiring her as my florist, although our florist did a good job Josy does some amazing arrangements. Josy worked on my surprise party-- and the moment I walked into the place everything was just perfect! She has some great cooking skills and everyone was well fed. The center pieces were BEAUTIFUL and creative! I've never seen wine bottles and candles look so good together :) she did an awesome job on party favors as well. I am a newlywed not too long ago (April 23, 2011) and Josy was our wedding coordinator. So much things to say, I met Josy back in September 2010 when I decided that I would not be able to coordinate a decent wedding on my own, hahaha. I have spoken with 7 event coordinators in southern California before I met her and thank goodness the heaven have allowed her to fall in my arms. She has a great personality, have so many great ideas of her own but respectfully takes to heart what the client wants and is so ready to make an event the way the clients envision the event. She and her team which includes Mr. Tom are spectacular!!! They love what they do, love their work and gives more than 100% of their time and effort to enable a very successful event.
