I'm ashamed to admit that I haven't had a primary care doctor for years…read more I can't recall the last time that I got sick enough to need a doctor, but that doesn't excuse it. So when I was in need of immunizations for an upcoming trip to India, I was in a bind. I called a couple offices under my insurance, and the soonest I could get in as a new patient would be months after my trip. That was the case when I called Norton Community Medical Associates in Mid City Mall too, but the clerk there was able to get me in the following morning due to a cancellation at their sister site on Barret Avenue. And that's how I met Dr. Ana Overley. She was quick and efficient. Chatting with me about my overall health needs, while also getting me what I needed for my trip, which ended up being three vaccinations and some malaria pills. I also appreciate that she didn't redo a bunch of basic dianostic tests and bloodwork that I just had done at my ob/gyn. She just asked that I get a copy and bring the results with the next time I come in. Done. She was easy to talk to and put me at ease. And the staff person, who gave me my shots, also deserves some commendation. I'm not a big fan of needles, and I did not feel the needles go into my arm. Fast and relatively pain-free -- that's what I want when I must get a shot. The office was also immaculately clean. The front desk staff was courteous. I feel better knowing that I now have a primary care office near my home I can rely on.

TL;DR Easy appointment times, but long appointment wait times. Love Dr. Simpson!…read more I really enjoy my practitioner Dr. Tiffany Simpson. She doesn't rush through the appointment, she shows empathy, and she does what she can to help and educate based on your diagnosis. It is also always easy to get an appointment with her office. I would say within 24-48 hours. When I got the flu I was able to stop by the next day. My only complaint, is that of what many patients have, I just don't understand why you take a patient back when the doctor isn't ready yet. The NP or MA will do the preliminary conversation, then I'll get stuck in the patient room for 45+ minutes. Dr. Simpson also admits that she needs more help to provide the quality of care she likes to provide and admits she wishes the wait times were not as long. I guess her acknowledgment makes me feel a little better, enough to keep my review 4 stars. The office is located inside MidCity Mall next to Baxter Movie Theater. When you are done with your appointment you can stop by ValuMart and grab dinner or to grab a snack before you're appt so you have something to hold you over while you wait. This office can pull blood work, give shots, and do xrays. All lab work is processed by a 3rd party so make sure to ask for lab to in network. They take Aetna PPO as one of the insurances.

They seem to have problems keeping Phyicians at this location. The last year has been a revolving…read moredoor of nurse practitioners that move around and difficult to keep up with. If you need a refill that has been prescribed by the nurse good luck. You call the office and you are told its your fault you didn't get another primary care physician. I am Not due a physical till November. PS all the good physicians that use to be there on now working for Baptist Health.
