Five stars for Donna Bowers, who I've seen her for years. If I could review her alone, it would be…read morefive stars. However I can only give 1 star, because you must wade through the worst office staff. For years, I've put up with the sour, scowling front desk staff, but today I had the pleasure of encountering office manager, Teresa. I have been dealing with constant pelvic pain for 7 months. Today it is so bad I can barely move. I called to reschedule and was told it was a $50 cancellation fee. I know I can't make it. If I could, I wouldn't have called there to reschedule. So I ask that she have Donna call me. I was told the doctors don't call. I said, well I know she doesn't have anyone there at 10:40 because if you fill the appointment, then you have no reason to charge me $50. Could you have her call me then? By this time, I'm bawling, clearly in distress. Keep in mind that these are supposed to be mental health professionals. I told her you deal with emotionally fragile people. How are you going to feel if you do this to someone else, and they do something that can't be undone? She said that's why we have you come in. I said I'm not able to. She said this conversation is done and she hung up on me. I was left not knowing whether Donna is going to call, but it doesn't really matter. If I have to get to her through that office staff, it's not worth it anymore.

My first visit lasted about 2.5 hours, and that was with the provider. If you can't get in with the MD, don't worry. The PA's and CRNP's are awesome. It was the most comprehensive appointment I have ever had. They are all so kind and caring. I see Stephanie Garrison and Leslie. The only struggle is that sometimes it can be hard to get appointments because they are very popular. They just opened a location in Edmond. It's worth it for suck skilled and comprehensive care.

Patrick saved my life. I had been to another well respected psychiatrist in town who told me that I…read morewasn't having any issues and to just deal with the problems in my life, while I knew something was not right in me. I was suicidal at that point, but a couple of friends and family members begged me to give Patrick a chance. He is the first doctor that I ever went to who was younger than myself, so I was immediately standoffish with him. I explained to him what was going on and in less than 15 minutes he was confident he knew what the issue was and what to do about it. I was happy with how he truly listened and made a point to understand what I was trying to express. What I really like about Patrick is that he takes a broad approach to psychiatry. He does give prescriptions, but also honors other approaches: he is trained as a nutritionist and makes great diet/supplement suggestions with science to back up why he is making the suggestion; he encourages a whole self approach that includes exercise and meditation; he encourages the services of outside psychotherapists in a variety of specialties; he always congratulates me on steps I make forward in life and is supportive like a good friend. I owe my life to Patrick Ellis and am eternally grateful for the love and compassion that he has always given me.

Had an appointment with Melanie Bailey - shares space with Dr. Ellis. She thought I could benefit…read morefrom seeing him so went out to lobby and made appointment for July 30 with Dr. Ellis. No mention of any additional paperwork for me to fill out (had filled out over five pages for Ms. Bailey). Got a reminder call yesterday (7/29) that my appointment was Thursday at 1:30. Arrived at 1:25 and was asked if I had my paperwork filled out. "Didn't get any paperwork." The receptionist replied that they had sent it. "I didn't get any paperwork." Went and sat down to wait. She then announced that they had mailed it to my home on July 1. "I didn't get any paperwork. I'm telling you I would have filled it out if I had gotten any but I didn't get any." She said she'd have to let Dr. Ellis know. Dr. Ellis came out and said he wouldn't be able to see me today because I hadn't filled out my paperwork. I told him I didn't get any. He said they have a script that they say when appointments are made and he's so familiar with it he's almost memorized it. "I didn't get any paperwork." I took a breath and thought I'd try to salvage something and said, "In the future, you might have them ask patients about it when they make the reminder call the day before." "Oh, they do," Dr. Ellis said, "I've heard them." I walked out and will not be back. Dr. Ellis overtalks, he's more worried about his forms and his scripts and not being wrong than he is about the real needs of patients. He wouldn't have had time to completely review it before my 1:30 appointment. I was not told to arrive early or anything during my reminder call so he couldn't have had time to digest my paperwork. So why couldn't he have spent the hour talking with me as I filled it out, or building rapport as a doctor and patient? He's more worried about being right than the real needs of patients. I would encourage people to keep looking past Dr. Ellis and his staff if they are in need of a psychiatrist. The upshot of all of this is I saved money and any additional time. People go see psychiatrists because they're in real need. At Dr. Ellis's office it's more important to check the boxes and imply that patients are at fault and liars. What a joke.

My first appointment was scheduled for September 24. On September 23, your office left me a message…read moreinforming me that the appointment had to be canceled because the medication had not been received from the pharmacy in time. I subsequently received three treatments. During this period, I received no meaningful follow-up from the staff regarding my treatment. I was also told that the psychiatrist was not available to take my calls when I attempted to obtain assistance. I then had another appointment scheduled for October 8 at 10:00 a.m. I had arranged transportation for the appointment, including a 9:00 a.m. pickup, and had canceled work in order to attend. At approximately 8:45 a.m.--only 15 minutes before my scheduled pickup--I received a call from the receptionist informing me that my appointment had been canceled. I subsequently spoke with Heather, who explained that the medication had not been delivered. This is the second time my appointment has been canceled at the last minute because the medication was not available. These cancellations have created significant problems for me, including arranging and potentially paying for transportation and canceling work commitments. I understand that medication delivery issues can occasionally occur. However, repeated last-minute cancellations, lack of communication, and difficulty obtaining follow-up from the treating psychiatrist are not an acceptable way to manage a patient's ongoing psychiatric treatment. I am requesting that this matter be reviewed by the appropriate person in your organization and that I receive an explanation of how these repeated problems occurred and what will be done to prevent them from happening again. I am confident that this unprofessional treatment will be addressed promptly and appropriately. I would appreciate a written response regarding this complaint and the plan for continuing my treatment.
