Soo good Would i even be walking without dr Stern's help and work? I had a horrible case of sore heels seems like a nothing complaint until you have to crawl to the toilet in the mornings Then after a while you are crawling everywhere because you can't take the heel pain so you can't walk I heard about this guy from more than one friend They said go he is funny and he is very good Well he diagnosed me thoroughly and gave options and was very very informative He taped my feet up and that was the first relief I got He gave exercises that i did sometimes (ok seldom) and measured me up for orthotics Orthotics are a lifesaver Also There is no showing up and waiting forever He keeps his calendar Appointments. if it is at 10:30 he sees you at 10:30 all solved. I think Dr. Stern is the best podiatrist in town! I am flat footed and was suffering from plantar fasciitis! it was painful and I can't hardly walk because of it. I had a consult with Dr. stern and he was very professional, loved his jokes and of course, the knowledge that he had was superb! I had custom orthotics made and it solved the problem right away! He also answered everything I need to know about my condition and gave tips to prevent the pain from recurring. His secretary, Ramona, was amazing as well.. Great facility and Very thorough doctor however their rates for initial visits and orthopedics are higher than others in the city.... which is disappointing because my insurance only paid me for a fraction of what I paid up front. I had a fantastic experience with Dr. Stern and his staff. Dr Stern took his time answering all my questions and was very understanding and professional. His assistant, Ramona, was super helpful. My insurance policies through work were in a bit of a complicated situation. She was able to help me sort them out and accommodated all my requests. The overall experience and service were second to none and I speak from experience as I have gone to see another podiatrist in Downtown Vancouver. I got 3 pairs of orthotics made a few weeks ago and I am looking forward to picking them up tomorrow. read more

I got custom made orthotics from Dr. Stern & was not happy with them. I specifically told him I have an issue with my foot, and he promptly diagnosed me with Morton's Neuroma. However, he neglected to give me a metatarsal pad which is absolutely crucial for someone who is suffering from this. I went to Paris Orthotics (much frowned upon by podiatrists in Vancouver, for good reason), and saw Martha Paris. She didn't try to upsell me a new pair of orthotics, but took the ones that I had already & adjusted them by adding a metatarsal pad (which is what I should have had all along) & I now am pain free. She also recommended a wider foot bed in shoes & I now wear foam toe spacers in my shoes which are the best. My next pair of orthotics (when needed) will definitely be coming from Paris Orthotics. I've been seeing Dr. Stern about every year since 2010 to be fitted for custom orthotics. We were first introduced when he made a presentation of proper athletic footwear and foot conditions during a Sun Run training clinic. I believe he rotates between his various Lower Mainland locations throughout the week, one of which is in downtown just across from St. Paul's Hospital. He has always done a thorough job of explaining what my orthotics need to be doing. He does a gait analysis and takes a plaster mould of the feet when ordering the orthotics. If I recall correctly, he even sent me up for a same day X-ray in the same building the first time I visited with foot pain to rule out damage. He'll recommend an orthotic length depending on the shoes you're and even write you up some helpful notes to take to your athletic footwear store of choice to simplify the process of buying runners with the right pronation. Insurance paperwork has always been happily filled out to my insurer's demanding specifications. Wait times are minimal to non-existent when you show up at your appointment time. I should clarify that although I've been visiting for new orthotics about once a year, it's not because each orthotic doesn't last but because that's what my insurance coverage doles out. Also, he's pretty funny if that makes a difference to you in choosing a podiatrist. read more
