Had pain near on the right side of my nose. I was told I needed a root canal under my crown. He started the root canal and hit a nerve and I jumped. He said, that "was it " and he refused to try again. He sent me to a dentist in Johnson City, for the two root canals. The cost was $3000.00 for that. Within two months, the teeth under my crown where the two root canals were done, crumbled. Dr. Picco said it was a "rare occurrence". Dr. Picco had to pull the remaining numbs of the root canal teeth. His total cost was $1800.00 for the unfinished root canal and two extractions. Zero personality. While pulling the teeth he said something to the effect of "I will have to get this little peice here or you'll complain". I guess he was talking about something that was in my gums (a peice of bone maybe). So it cost $3000.00 from his dental friend in Johnson City, and the $1800.00 was from Picco. But he has no personality, and he gets frustrated easily. I have been going there several years, and the expense is outrageous and a dentist with an attitude. First I will offer my conclusion/recommendation. I recommend that you become a patient at Dr Picco's practice. For four reasons (to start). Reason 1: Renee. Renee is helpful and nice and friendly and professional and capable and patient and accommodating and she listens very well. Reason 2: April April is helpful and nice and friendly and professional and capable and patient and accommodating and she also listens very well. Reason 3: Stacy Stacy is professional and patient and expert and nice as Dental Hygienist, especially taking X-rays and notes and explaining and she also listens very well. Reason 4: Dr Picco Before meeting Dr Picco, I knew I would like him. Anyone who hires and keeps such nice helpful capable employees just has to be a nice and capable guy. And he is. Dr Picco is obviously very experienced. Dr Picco explains very well, like a school teacher. Dr Picco also is a very good listener. Dr Picco is nice and professional and helpful and patient. Very patient. He took as much time as I needed for our consultation for my difficult situation. I read some reviews, most good and a few bad. I can only offer this: When you are working with someone who is very experienced and honest and straightforward, there are times that person will be adamant about something. Adamant about doing the right thing or adamant about not doing the wrong thing. Be glad for that. I did not hear what I was hoping for, but it is what it is. And the kind of doctor that Dr Picco is, is where you want to be. Thank you Dr Picco and Renee and April and Stacey. . Nightmare butcher dentist!! Both my wife and I are suffering a year later from the work he performed saying that there was nothing he could do. I need a crown replaced and my wife needs a filling taken out and redone. I was told that I needed surgery to remove a wisdom tooth which was a lie.
