If I didn't have bad luck I would not any I was in Jefferson City, MO (again) and while at dinner ate something that fired up a tooth. It hurt like hell. The only dentist I know is Dr. May. It was late but I called anyway. Fortunately he answered the phone himself. I explained my problem and he said he would wait and to come by the office. I speeded to his office and he was outside waiting. He told me that he could only do root canals and if that could not fix the problem, he would help me find a local dentists. He sat me in a chair and after setting up, including virus protection items and vaccine questions began his examination. Unfortunately the tooth issue was a dentist issue and not a root canal issue. Dr. May said he could not do the work, but would help me find a Dentist. I said why not, did he not know how? He said he was trained, but since he was a Root Canal Specialist he did not practice regular dentistry. Despite my constant begging he would not do the work. He got me out of the chair and immediately got on the phone and found me a dentist. I went to his office and within 60 minutes I was good as new. Crisis averted. This is a man that goes out of his way for not only his patients, but people. His sense of ethics as a denstist are great. Dr. May is not only a great Root Canal Dentist but a nice guy as well. Dr. May and his awesome assistant were outstanding! He encouraged a preventative treatment plan that was patient-centric ensuring I understood the procedure and risks verses benefit without making me feel pressured. He had the latest technology (laser and ultrasonic equipment) and it was obvious he was up to date on the most current endodontic research and his assistant was very knowledgeable too! Easily the fastest and most professional root canal experience I've had. I've had two others at places that took twice as long to do one as Dr. May did to do two at the same time. Spoke at length about the technology used and process he was doing, making it easily understandable. Also the only Endodontist around to work with 3-D laser disinfection, which gave me much more peace of mind, having dealt with infections from other doctors' procedures. Somehow his excellent work is cheaper than the worse doctors I've had as well. Definitely recommend Dr May if you need a root canal. read more

Dr. May and his assistant Kanisaha worked on a tooth that had a bridge attached to it. Dr. May did a root canal on the tooth and then also did a filling on side of the root as well. Both procedures that was preformed was very professionally and the staff was very polite and professional as well. Dr. May follows up during the evening after the procedure to make sure I am doing well. I would recommend Dr. May and his staff for anyone that needed special processes to their teeth. I can not say enough about our experience with Dr. May and his staff. He was fabulous with our teenage son, explained how the PIP laser worked, and a little over one hour was done. He has some great handouts on how he practices and holistic dentistry; he truly cares about reducing infection and taking care of the patient. Dr. May gives the least painful injections of all the dentists that I have had treatment. He uses some type of laser to clean the root canals of infections normally left by other dentists. I cannot understand why other dentists do not use or be required to used advanced dental appliances to remove infection in root canals. read more
