it's always a comfortable experience when I visit this practice. DR. Boesch is the best dentist I have ever had! Before we found this pra I hated going to the dentist. I was extremely nervous and even afraid to regularly visit the dentist due to being traumatized early in life as a child and later into adulthood. Since finding Dr Boesch I am now totally trusting and calm with his care. Mrs. Boesch who coordinates patient billing and scheduling is also very knowledgeable and helpful. she really keeps the front office smoothly running and can answer just about any questions patients may have. The other staff members are equally helpful and efficient. it's always a pleasure to sit in the dentist chair at this practice. I no longer need calming medication to help me relax during my dental appointments. read more

My Dentist retired while I was living abroad and I had not been to the dentist for several years largely due to COVID. After receiving several mailers from Dr. Boesch, I decided to research his practice. I was excited about the initial reviews on Google and proximity. I contacted the office to make an appointment and the Office Manager was RUDE to say the least. I explained my situation and why I was looking to come in. This woman made snide comments about the length of time that I had last seen a dentist and just spoke with her nose in the air. Ordinarily, I would have put her in place but I let it go. I made the appointment and agreed to email my insurance card. After emailing my card, she asked me via email why I was coming in. The audacity. She then asked me to fill out the intake form. She could have just said that as it had the insurance information on the phone instead of ping ponging. Imagine a cynical person who thinks they are perfect not operating with efficiency. Well queue the Office Manger. The day before my appointment I get email saying it needs to be rescheduled because she needs my DOB which I gave this person over the phone not once but twice. After this experience, I looked into the reviews deeper and this is a common experience. The Front Desk Manager is apparently the spouse to the dentist. It's a shame the service in the Front of the house doesn't coincide with the Back of the house. I wouldn't recommend this practice to satan. read more

OK, I can manage to deal with the oft nasty, aggressive wife/office manager. My ex gave me plenty of practice in patience. And I've forgotten about the sky high prices I've paid--much, much higher than comparable peer dentists in the area. But what's inexcusable is the work this dentist did in my mouth a number of years ago. He sold me on the need to replace a number of probably healthy teeth with crowns. As time went on, I started to have pain with these crowns and so I went to another dentist for evaluation. I'm now having to have each crown taken out and redone. To the new dentist's surprise, the metal in each of these crowns was seriously corroded, causing considerable oxidation and extreme irritation on the remaining teeth and gum line. The new dentist explained that one metal crowns are used, they were supposed to use noble metals, which don't react and corrode. In my case, however, Dr. Boesch even though he charged me top dollar at the time evidently and unconscionably substituted or mixed in cheaper 'filler' alloys. For sure he knew better, but clearly was into saving some money that would not be readily discovered by a patient. I'm so glad these bad crowns he installed are now out of my mouth!! read more

I am a physician and have been a patient of Dr. Boesch for the past 12 years. I was not asked to write a review on his behalf, but I feel compelled to give some kind of response to previously posted negative reviews. First, let's get to the point. This review is for Dr. Boesch. He is an excellent dentist. If he weren't, I wouldn't have made trips back from other states just to continue my care with him. Out of the 12 years I have been seeing him, I spent 10 of them living in cities outside of the Washington D.C. area. I occasionally tried other dentists outside of Maryland during those years. They sucked. Those sucky dentists did, however, compliment Dr. Boesch's work when they examined me. I'll tell you what I look for in quality care: meticulous; ethical; competent; good bedside manner; competent, efficient, courteous ancillary staff; efficiently run office. Dr. Boesch and his practice has all of those elements. Those negative comments miss the big picture, and equate to a personality attack on one individual of the ancillary staff--this is inappropriate for an online review of a medical professional. Some of those comments are also culturally insensitive and highly subjective. If you don't want to buy products offered by the ancillary staff--politely decline. If you have questions, ask them--Dr. Boesch and/or the office manager will gladly answer them. If you have a concern, then speak up and advocate for yourself in a constructive way--to the office and to the doctor, and not in a passive-aggressive way on an online review. read more

I have been going to Dr. Boesch since the 1990's when I lived in Rockville. In 2005 we moved to Annapolis and I continue to see him, since he's worth the commute. Note, that I grew up in Annapolis and we have many local choices. I receive countless compliments on the work he's done - crowns and veneers from a sports injury as a child. Wow, I thought I was the only one! I am a long-time patient of Dr. Boesch, and have long dreaded having to deal with Mrs. Boesch at the front desk. She is cordial/polite, but when it comes to scheduling, she is very pushy. Maybe I'm being naive here, but I really don't think she intends to be rude and pushy, I don't know. But the bottom line is, she probably should not be in a position where she's dealing directly with the patients/customers. On the other hand, I do think Dr. Boesch is an absolutely fantastic dentist. He comes across as very knowledegable, explains in detail everything that he does, and I think is a genuinely nice person. But for the past few years I've been actively (and unsuccessfully) looking for a dentist to replace him. Mainly because of the front desk, but also because I feel that the prices at his office may be high. If I could afford it, I'd probably stay there...because he's such a good dentist, but money is always tight for me. Also, I hear from other dental offices that I have pretty good dental insurance, but unfortunately Dr. Boesch's office does not accept it. Overall I rate them at 3 stars because he's such a good dentist, but she's so pushy that it makes a bad representation of their business at the front! read more

I have been going to Dr. Boesch since 2005. I have been to many dentists over the years and Dr. Boesch is clearly far and away the best. The dental work is outstanding-and the doctor is up-to-date on the latest procedures and technologies. Dr. Boesch explains everything to me every step of the way. If you are afraid of the dentist Dr. Boesch is the dentist for you-- I have had extensive dental work over the years and my apprehension toward dental visits has completely disappeared-- in fact it is great experience-- Dr. Boesch puts me at ease. As a testament to his superior skills, Dr. Boesch saved my Father's teeth years ago and more recently has saved my husbands' teeth after another dentist told him to get accustomed to the idea loosing them. My husband can now eat any food without discomfort, and is happy with his new lease on life for his teeth. Dr. Boesch will always be my dentist, and I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a five star dental practice and excellence in dentistry. read more

In my first visit, Dr. Boesch found two teeth that needed root canals due to being missed by my previous dentist. Not trusting him yet, I got a second opinion which confirmed the diagnosis. That was about 15 years ago and I have been going ever since. He is a really good dentist. He looks to solve problems and not create them, is interesting to talk to and cares about my comfort. His assistant Mindy is also terrific. My only complaint is that the hygenists seem to turn over frequently although they are always compentent. The small office is also nice. Dr. Boesch has been our dentist for at least 15 years. I won't let anyone else work on my teeth. The whole office has made me and my daughter feel comfortable since day one. We love these guys!! You should know going in that he is a fee for service dentist, but they will submit to your insurance company for you. Don't let this turn you off though. Dr. Boesch does good work but it is not worth the headache and attitudes you have to endure when you visit the office and put up with his rude wife yelling at you and trying to rip you off. I guess she thinks if she is forceful and speaks with such a thick accent you will just agree with what she says instead of actually wanting to know the facts to make an informed decision. She tried to force me to take thousands of dollars of a line of credit to pad their pocket for future cosmetic services, which I told her I did not want. I also found it very unsettling that Dr. Boesch had no clue what was going on with me after he referred me out for surgery and when I went in for a checkup he kept asking if he did the surgery and I had to remind him what the process was. I know I wasn't his only patient and don't expect him to remember everything but at least reviewing a patients file before you go in would be helpful. He did about a 1 min eval and said ok everything looks good and I was done. You cant tell me he actually checked the surgery sites and every tooth to see if I was doing well for my 6 month routine checkup. A waste of time and my insurance benefits. They make you pay for the routine services that insurance covers 100% of and then they will use the money they are reimbursed from insurance to credit to your account for future services. I am still trying to get my money back because I will not be using them for future services. When I called to speak with Mrs. Boesch about it she started literally yelling at me and telling me I was too demanding to inquire about the insurance information from her that I should call and speak with the insurance company. The dental office is the one holding my money, not the insurance company. I am astounded that they keep patients by being so rude to their customers. I will never go back to them. It is sickening to see how they disrespect people. A professional should never yell at their customers. My first visit went well but then when it came to dealing with money it went down hill fast. After seeing how deceptive they were and asking to receive the funds I was entitled to, due to the overpayment I was required to make, it turned into pure hell. read more

If you are already stressed out by the thought of going to a dentist, ANY dentist, then stay away from this practice. I've been a patient of his for several years and although he is a good clinician, I can no longer deal with his office manager, who also happens to be his wife. Every time I had an appointment, I had to steel myself to withstand the incredible pressure I got from Mrs. Boesch to buy orthodontic services from them for thousands of dollars. She has no qualms pressuring you into going into debt in order to keep money flowing into their practice, whether or not you need the work done. It's worse than dealing with a used car salesman. My most recent experience is what finally drove me to quit them and find a new dentist. After my cleaning several weeks ago, Dr. Boesch indicated that several of my crowns had to be replaced to the tune of $5,000 plus. One crown obviously needs repair, the other ones, I'm not so sure about. In spite of my hesitation and reluctance to do everything all at once for cash flow reasons, Mrs. Boesch scheduled the appointment to get everything done in one session. She simply would not let me out of that office without booking the appointment. Before the date arrived, I called the office twice, asking to postpone the work until after my mortgage refinancing was completed and to break it up into stages so that I do not get hit with a huge payment all at once, but every time I called, I got bullied into keeping the appointment! As time went on, the more frustrated and angrier I got that she simply would not listen and did not care about my needs and what I wanted, so on the day of the appointment, I simply no showed. I had reached my threshold. And by the way, each time I talked to her on the phone, I could hardly get a word in and was bum rushed off the phone by being told that she was with another patient in the office or on another line (probably bullying them into services they don't need). Wendy or Mindy, the dental assistant or technician, is equally cold and insensitive to patient needs. The only bright spot in that practice was the hygienist, who apparently resigned. Since her departure, they have not been able to hire and retain another one and it has been over one year. Makes you wonder why. read more

Dr. Boesch is an excellent clinician I've trusted for years. My teeth have fared well under his care, no question. Having said this, he is WAY more expensive than other dentists of equal calibre. For example, I paid a thousand dollars for a night guard four years ago, and had it recently re-done for less than half. Routine cleanings are 3x more expensive than what my new dentist charges. The dentist's wife, who is their office manager, while I'm sure she means well, comes off as rude and pushy. She has a short fuse and a hot temper; you wouldn't want to be on the receiving end, believe me. I have only good things to say about the quality of dental care, however. read more
