My teenage son was diagnosed with Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome and we met with Dr. Levine. My son's referring cardiologist was fantastic, and Dr. Levine came highly recommended as he is sort of the godfather of the ablation surgery that my son needed. Dr. Levine is a typical surgeon. A little bit harsh, a little bit black and white, and he's straight to the point. but he took the time to answer questions and put us all at ease. On the day of the surgery, he was very vocal about demanding the absolute best from his team, which made us feel like he was absolutely in control of the ship. He updated us right after the surgery and was as warm as a surgeon could be (6 out of 10) ;). The surgery went well and he explained that they while they were in there fixing and testing to make sure the additional electrical circuit in my son's heart was completely gone, they found another additional circuit. Obviously, they fixed both. Through follow up testing, we're confident that we won't need to do another ablation.
With surgeons, we've always felt that bedside manner is secondary to competence, and that's exactly what we got with Dr. Levine. We would recommend him but don't expect a hug from him at any point. read more
