Specialties
I specialize in the treatment of overuse injuries that develop as a result of the repetitive athletic activities of training and competition. I am on the Sports Medicine Team at Council Rock North and South High Schools and have been approved through the Council Rock School District for that position. I regularly work with the CRS and CRN Head Athletic Trainers treating athletes, both at my office and in the school training rooms. I have been in that position for more than ten years. I was the Sports Chiropractor for Temple University Athletics from 1996-2003.
I utilize soft tissue techniques that help to release adhesions and restrictions/scar tissue that develop in muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and even nerves from overuse activities. These techniques include Active Release Technique (activerelease.com), Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (hawkgrips.com), and Kinesiotaping. I have been certified to utilize Active Release Technique for the past 21 years and have attained certifications in Spine, Upper Extremity, Lower Extremity, Nerve Entrapment, Masters and Biomechanics. I am certified to utilize Hawk Grips and have been utilizing IASTM over the last three-four years. In addition, I am also a Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner (CKTP) with Kinesio International as well as a Level 1 certified Rock tape practitioner.
History
Established in 1987.
I have been in private practice since 1987, having graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Pennsylvania College of Chiropractic. In 1994, I decided that I wanted to pursue more of a sports treatment practice and was soon certified as a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP). Shortly thereafter, I received my first certification in Active Release Technique and started working more with high school and college level athletes. Currently, approximately 85% of my family run practice consists of high school, college, and adult athletes who are regularly involved in training and/or competitive activities in their sport.
