I was specifically told that I would still be able to come in as long as I arrived within the 15-minute grace period. However, while I was waiting, my appointment was canceled at 9:18. When I went to the front desk to explain what I had previously been told by the staff member I spoke with, I was met with an attitude rather than any attempt to understand the situation. I experienced a similar attitude from the doctor. I was questioned about my previous missed appointment, which was due to attending a funeral, and I found the way it was brought up to be extremely inappropriate and unnecessary. My personal circumstances are not something I should have to defend, especially when I made the effort to call ahead regarding my current situation. I was also questioned about why I was late despite explaining that I was delayed because of a car accident--something completely outside of my control. My health and safety are more important than arriving at an appointment exactly on time, particularly when I had already taken the responsible step of calling ahead and was told I could still be seen within the stated 15-minute window. What makes this even more frustrating is that during my previous visit in June, my appointment was scheduled for 2:00 PM, yet I was not seated until approximately 2:30 PM and was not actually serviced until around 2:30-2:45 PM. I understand that delays can happen, but it is extremely frustrating to be lectured about punctuality when I have personally experienced significant delays from the office as well. After spending $150 for my care, I expect to be treated with basic respect, professionalism, and common sense. I should not have been made to feel as though I intentionally missed or disregarded my appointment when I had legitimate circumstances and had communicated with the office beforehand. I am very disappointed with this experience and would like this complaint to be taken seriously. I hope the office reviews how this situation was handled and addresses the communication and treatment I received from the staff and doctor.
