In life, I choose calm over chaos and distance over disrespect and I only surround myself with people who are good for my mental health, heart , and soul. You do not always have to forgive and you don't always have to forget! Sometimes, once the bridge has been burned ... there's no fixing it. As long as you know what's best for you , nothing or nobody can make you feel bad especially when they play victim. I've distanced myself from all of this and I pick and choose who I want in my life. I can't control who will try to come back into my life after years of damage and with them bringing in negative energy so what I do is I will walk away! That's the best. No words , no need to explain A THING, but to just move forward by walking away and it will place them in their place . Some people aren't good and unfortunately will find a way to try to connect with you when they see you as an opportunity for them to benefit from. And when they expect for to you to vibe with them a certain way they expect and expectations aren't met, YOU ARE now the WEIRDEST, YOU ARE now A HORRIBLE PERSON, YOU THINK YOURE BETTER than them. This is called gaslighting and playing victim. I don't play this. Above are examples of what this place has helped me go through with my personal issues . Don't hesitate coming here to speak with Tamika.

5 stars does not cut it for this amazing woman's work…read more I found Tamika by sheer luck. I say this because it is EXTREMELY hard to find a decent therapist/life coach/social worker (you name it), let alone an incredible one since they're almost mythical or non-existent like unicorns. After meeting with constant terrible therapists who clearly did not care for my well-being (more so for his or her paycheck), I somehow was blessed with landing a session with Tamika. After my first session I felt so surprised. I had finally found the unicorn that I was searching for my whole life! I am currently enrolled in a Marriage and Family therapy program, so I wanted someone to truly help me find my path and purpose as well as heal me so that I can be an effective therapist myself. Well, Tamika did that and much more. Tamika helped me heal in ways that I cannot even fully put into words. Tamika guided me to find my soul and my passions in life. Tamika also helped me IMMENSELY as an up and coming therapist. She validated my concerns and reignited my soul again. I truly feel as though I am a changed woman and that I am stronger than ever and I felt this change in me within the first 2-3 sessions. Tamika helped me grow as an independent woman, improved my love life, guided me in the career and other ventures, validated me, and made me feel safe. It's amazing what a great healer with amazing guidance and coaching in all aspects of life can do for someone...and Tamika is the epitome of it all. I promise you, you're in more than good hands with Tamika. You're in spectacular hands with her

My wife and I came to Brett for premarital counseling, and because it helped so much, we continued…read moreinto couples therapy. We definitely love each other, but we were struggling because we were stuck in some painful patterns, including miscommunication, jumping to conclusions, getting triggered, defensiveness, taking things personally that weren't meant that way, and staying stuck in our own points of view instead of really hearing each other. These patterns created a lot of unnecessary and very painful conflict between us. For example, small misunderstandings would quickly turn into big fights that dragged on forever and often left us not speaking at all for days. To help us with this, Brett helped each of us work through and resolve many of our individual issues that had been contributing to many of our conflicts. He also taught us a much healthier and more effective way of communicating. He slowed us down, helped us learn how to actually hear each other, and guided us toward deeper emotional connection. During our sessions, Brett taught us a number of very practical tools that have made an enormous difference. One of the most powerful was learning how to check in with each other about what each other actually said versus what we thought we heard, instead of just reacting to our own assumptions. For example, if things started to escalate in our sessions, one of the many ways Brett would help was to gently pause us and have each of us repeat what the other person actually said before responding. This helped us see how often our assumptions were off. That shift alone has helped us respond to each other in a much more accurate and thoughtful way, rather than just reacting to our own interpretations and misunderstandings. This, along with everything else Brett did to help us, has been absolutely huge for us! Couples therapy with Brett has truly been life-changing for us. He has a remarkable ability to identify the core of a problem and guide you toward practical ways of addressing it. As a result, our conflicts have decreased dramatically. And when disagreements do come up, we're now able to resolve things much faster and reconnect with genuine understanding and emotional closeness. We've both definitely put in the work, that's for sure. But, it's clear to us that the progress we made would not have been possible without Brett's professional insight, skill, and steady guidance. I also want to say how calming, supportive, and accepting Brett is as a therapist. He's thoughtful, non-judgmental, and deeply caring, and he creates a space where we feel safe opening up, sharing honestly, and really doing the deeper work. I would wholeheartedly recommend Brett to any individual or couple who is struggling, and who wants a highly skilled psychotherapist and couple therapists to help them heal, grow, and significantly improve their well-being and their relationship. Highly recommended!

Ask me what I don't love about Dr. Jay Fibus? Seriously,…read moreGOOD LUCK finding a therapist like him and his associates--I truly mean that with all the love in my heart, but read on if you've landed on this review and you're "shopping around" for a new therapist or were referred to him by someone. No joke, the guy is a freaking genius. Cambridge graduate and has applied the most unique skills in our therapy sessions. I loved meeting in his office and never thought I would be okay with zooming into our sessions because of the pandemic, but oh my gosh--they've AWESOME because of how vulnerable I can still be from the comfort of my own home. In a nutshell, my husband left my son and me, almost losing my job, my home, and custody of my son (prior marriage). Dr. Fibus not only helped me pick up the ashes of where my life was but he sat in the trenches with me as I was sitting in the dung. Let's just say the depression of co-dependency was far too much and I didn't reach self-care and healthy until I opened up and got real with him. He then helped me walk through the dark rooms of my mind which I had vowed to never let anyone in. He held my hand metaphorically and walked me up the stairs to life's reality so I could sing again from the mountaintops. Therapy takes time and unless you are thirsty for it, don't bother. It'll be a waste of everyone's time, treasures, and skilled talent. But when you do decide that your life has gotten to a point where it's led you to this review then understand this of yourself, it's time to make the call and I hope it's to Dr. Fibus. I was so fearful of going because I didn't want anyone to see the hurts, but in doing so, I've gained all that is good back into my life and then some and they're here to stay. I will never say it's easy, never. It takes mental work and your willingness to open up. It's NOT easy. It's the weak that say therapy is a bunch of crap. To that, I say hogwash! It takes so much work to rewire a marriage, a relationship or your mind. So again, unless you're willing to be serious, don't bother. Dr. Fibus gave me permission to self-reflect on the trials and circumstances that led to the healing of the negative and ugly scars of my life. He did it such a funny and gentle way that I never imagined in a million years I would have the perspective I do about those moments. I have learned to embrace them all and allowed myself to finally become more vulnerable and a feeler in my life. I didn't realize the techniques because they came naturally to our conversations and nothing about it was awkward like I had envisioned they would be when "sitting in a therapy session." My life was super far from being screwed up--I just had to learn the fabric of my own DNA and realized in time that life, indeed, is beautiful. He's respectful of both genders and gave me security and compassion when my husband left. He never made it awkward when I would sit for a while and lament and just cry out. He was above reproach and respectful to my ex when he made that decision to stay focused on my journey without being biased. When I ask him a question he is so direct but with a light hearted charm that made me go back out into the world and reestablish my life and identity. He's taught me what healthy boundaries are and worked with me on the darkest days of my depression. He's helped my son out in a few sessions along with his associate who my son just adores and can call up at any moment knowing if he needs an outlet, they are there for him. It got really rough when his step dad had just walked out me but on him too. I have learned that being a successful single mom can be messy, difficult, and imperfect but that it can also be organized, easy, and perfect on some days. I see life as progressive where as before I was looking for perfection; felt I was letting down others; or would anger easily if the person I was co-dependent on would "let me down." The struggles were real and now they're struggles that are super manageable. He's referenced reading material that I thrive at when given quiet moments to read. He taught me that audible books on the way to work can re-wire my brain if I lend myself 20 minutes just to work on myself daily. I take compliments and see the beauty of my journey and how far I have come. I see all of the beauty and thrive from the scars to know that each one them has a story for someone to hear them at the right moment. With all the experiences I've had, I can relate to just about anyone where as before I wanted to depend on a person to make me happy and hide from the world. Don't even overthink it, pick up the phone and just make that appointment, I promise you--you will NOT be disappointed!

In addition, Uri and I worked together with the IPEC therapy method to overcome certain physical issues I was dealing with (massive hair loss, hemeroids, over weight). Our pediatrician and a therapist at Children's Hospital recommended we find counseling for my 5 year old grandchild. I knew somebody who went to Counseling West and he raved about their services and how much it helped him, he gave me the contact info, so I gave it to my daughter. What kind of an asshole tells a mother who is desperately trying to get her son help for a very real issue that "We don't deal with people and their custody drama?" I will tell you... a cold hearted human who did not listen. She did not hear that we have a 5 year old having panic attacks because he is so frightened. Does it matter that's it's coming from his father? I think not, what matters is he needs help to sort through this. This has nothing to do with a custody battle. It is no wonder we, as a society, are in the state we are in. People who need help, who seek help are not getting it. There are not enough mental health doctors to go around and in our case nobody has time for us. And then you have mental health "professionals" like this shithole, who over the telephone make a judgment about someone they have never met, about a child who desperately needs someone to confide in, and they turn their heads the other way in disgust. Shame on you for not listening. Shame on you for not recognizing that a 5 year old having panic attacks is a serious issue. And shame on you for being such a cold hearted asshole.
