I went straight for the cherries to bring back to Auckland, who knew they grew on trees! Some of them are quite high up so found a nifty solid ladder to climb right up among the tall branches where some of the biggest cherries were hanging. The cherries were under white cover alongside lines of strawberry patches. Outside exposed to full natural elements, they also have boysenberry vines, more raised lines of strawberry patches (clever way to grow them off the ground! less back-breaking when you're picking) as well as raspberries. Pick your own (PYO) is great fun and they also have real fruit ice cream (got some yummy boysenberry in a waffle cone) inside where you pay by weight. Also noticed a shelf of jams and other fruity products if you need some for your cupboard stock. Definitely recommend your PYO experience here.!

They are family-owned and operated, the love and attention put into the natural, wooded space quite apparent. Menu items are sourced locally so they are as fresh as possible. I had the Lamb Burger with their "world famous" slow roasted lamb patty, topped with a fresh picked salad, mint jelly, and tomato salsa. The lamb burger patty was actually shredded meat -- rather than minced -- and packed into a puck. It was a little tough to tear the meat, a fork coming in handy to eventually deconstruct the burger. The salad portion was extraordinary as well, requiring the use of the fork to pick away at it before crafting the burger/ sandwich. Overall though, it was ultra yummy, scrumptious burger, the mint jelly combo enhancing the enjoyability greatly. It left me feeling satiated though not overly bloated. The freshness was prominent indeed. Beers were flowing and while they claim to host a keg of nearby Hop Federation, the single offering was somewhat basic (a pilsener). I actually opted for a local Pinot Noir, a lovely pairing with the Lamb Burger. The TOAD Hall is an easy option while in Motueka and Tasman area!

We…read morecame here last week for a friend's birthday and it was very upsetting when the friend's whose birthday it was had to apologize to everyone (although none of us were upset with her). Rather the restaurant was at best 25% full and it took us over an hour and a half to get our order. In fact, couples who were seated after us received their food before us. In no way is this an appropriate manner to serve patrons. There was no update on when our food would be served and the waiters barely came to our table. A simple "we are short on staff your order will be late" would have been nice. And when we did get food, there were around 5 napkins on the table for 8 people. We asked for more, 2 minutes passed, (at this point the restaurant was at even less capacity than our start) and nothing came. When I walked up to ask for napkins, it seemed that this simple request was already forgotten by the wait staff. And finally the food - although it looks nice on Instagram it was a let down. The food is very fatty and greasy and if you are looking for a healthy vegetarian meal this is not the place. Overall - I highly do not recommend coming here unless you want to be disappointed.
