Jons Pipe Shop - Tobacco Shops Near Me - Clayton, Missouri

I had a great experience here, they were very nice and very professional. They took their time to guide me through the store and they made a lot of great suggestions for me. I ended up buying a lot of cigars because they have great pricing as well. 20 percent off of full boxes and buy 4 cigars get one free. I went to JR Cigars down the road and they treated me like trash and even locked the door behind me when I walked in, I was so frustrated and I'm so glad I found this place instead. Great people. read more

Jon has been in business since I started smoking a pipe. I hate to admit It but that's about 30 years ago. Call the shop he still answers the phone. This man is a wealth of knowledge inside a shrinking world and for that I am grateful . Total respect. read more

My favorite Pipe & Cigar shop, I stop here often when in town. Great service, quality, friendly atmosphere, value... Definitely recommended!

Great service great selection and doesn't price gouge on rare cigars like a lot of places do.

They had a robust selection and they were quick to help. Good recommendations for a novice cigar smoker. Great prices as well! I will most certainly go back. read more

Jons Pipe Shop - Tobacco Shops Near Me - Clayton, Missouri

Staff was extremely nice and more than willing to help recommend both pipes and cigars. Found some very nice deals as well. Couldn't have been more pleased with their selection and overall experience. If pipes and cigars are your hobby, this is absolutely the place to be in the STL area. read more

They have a fantastic inventory of pipe tobacco and pipes. They can genuinely consult with you on what you are looking for, what you might want, what is probably not a good idea, etc. During the pandemic, they maintained curbside service, which was great. What can I say? They have made a customer for life. read more

I don't mean that they provide the expensive high-quality tobacco but they only provide a few common pipe tobacco of big company, but the price including tax is nearly half more than pipesandcigars.com some tobacco even two times than pipesandcigars.com. Actually, they have superficial knowledge about the tobacco and the service is ok. If you guys really care about the pipe and pipe tobacco, don't be fooled by the two bluffers and spend hundreds of bucks to buy their pipe, head to John Dengler Tobacconist https://www.johndenglertobacconist.com/ , which is built in 1917 and perfect. Or the nearby jr cigar and hill cigar is much better read more

Wow, I think I have found my brick and morter tobacconist! I do have to preface my review by saying that I enjoy pipes and I am not a huge cigar smoker, so I am looking at Jon's through that lense. I checked out Jon's this past Thursday on the way home from work. I have to be honest, I really have no idea why it has taken me so long to check out Jon's, probably since most of my pipe purchases are made online via pipesandcigars.com, I am sure that is a factor. Anyways, I digress. Jon's has a really nice selection for pipers. There is a back room devoted to the piper as there are a nice selection of pipes from Peterson, Vauen, etc. They also have a nice selection of house tobacco blends as well from Englishes, Virginias and aromatics. I was very impressed with the selection of tinned pipe tobaccos. This is an area that most of the local tobacconists fall short. Jon's carried a nice selection from Dunhill, Dan Tobacco and McClelland among others at pretty good prices (compared to online). It was nice to be able to pickup some Dunhill Nightcap and McClelland Frog Morton without having to wait for shipping. I definitely recommend Jon's for those who enjoy a pipe now and again. They certainly do have a pretty decent amout of cigars as well but I really could not comment too much on those as I am not too familiar there. read more

Excellent cigar shop and huge selection - prices were better than other local shops - plus you can smoke in the shop.

Jon's Pipe Shop in Clayton carries a wide variety of many cigar brands. The store itself is small and a bit cluttered because of all the product. However, despite the cramped space, whoever is working behind the counter is more than helpful to help. I frequent a cigar shop closer to my house normally, however head to Jon's whenever I want to pick up something that I can't get elsewhere. Jon's seems to carry brands such as Tatuaje, Davidoff, and Litto Gomez, that other shops typically do not. Their prices are fair and there are a few chairs spread throughout the shop that one is more than welcome to sit in and enjoy a smoke. read more

All the staff were very helpful and pleasant. I went in there with totally the wrong info from my local friend on what cigar to buy there....they were very patient in translating his advice, results were non-premium not in stock. I ended up getting 2 premium Arturo Fuento OpusX and one Honking Huge Davidoff private label (joke birthday present for my older brother) Prices are average, but very helpful....great service is priceless read more

This place is wonderful! They are incredibly patient if you are new to the hobby. The prices are reasonable. Very nice upscale shop. Will return for sure! read more

Great selection and Mike is very knowledgeable about his stock. My go to place for cigars. Recommend Jon's to anyone.

It's my go to shop when trying new sticks & restocking favorites staff always helpful & knowledgeable

This was my personal experience only. Pros: -Good selection of pipes and in a good ranges of prices -Good selection of pipe tobacco -Prices are decent -Chairs to sit down in and enjoy a smoke Cons: -Not all style of pipes, didn't have any pokers or calabash styles. -Selected a pipe to buy, and couldn't walk it to the counter to buy it, salesperson asked for it back. Just weird I guess. -Salesperson didn't know much about pipes, but was at least honest and admitted that she wasn't. -Tobacco tins didn't have prices on them, but I guess I could've asked. -Didn't have any of the $3.99 Czech 3 in 1 pipe tools - kinda weird **My only issue was how I was treated by the salesperson, just constantly following me around, wouldn't let me look at more than one pipe at a time, and just watching my every move. I'm a white guy in my 30's wearing normal clothes looking at a $50 pipe to buy. I bought a $70 pipe, tin of pipe tobacco, bag of pipe cleaners, and they still charged me for a cheap little tamper that looked like an aluminum nail with the point flattened. I'll just buy my stuff online at cupojoes or some other place instead. Unfortunately, I'm not going to go back. read more

AKA Jon's Pipe Shop. Good selection and the only place in the area I have found wh ere you can get Davidoff cigars if that happens to be a label you like. Also have some sharp guys (and characters!) working there. Prices are pretty standard, although their "buy four and get the fifth free" policy can provide some savings. You can smoke what you buy in the store, although they don't have a smoking area per se, so you will have to just stand around. Parking is at meters, and can be challenging during the work week. Also a good selection of pipes, pipe tobaccos and accessories. read more

They carry Davidoff cigars. I make it a point to stop by when I am in town. The guys who run this place are friendly.

I've been coming to this store for 21 years and before that my father and his colleagues use to frequent the shop. Top shelf, hands down the best St. Louis has to offer in service, selection and quality. Number 1 can't be beat. read more

Really like this place, great selection of cigars and knowledgeable staff. Great place for hard to find Fuentes.

Was a great shop, I purchased pipes, tobbaco, and Harvey sold me two top ens walking sticks for my grand father. He always rubed black strap mollasis in bowl of pipe you bought. read more

I went looking for a pipe for my husband, the woman that helped me didn't have much knowledge. The prices were High and when I said "I guess if my husband doesn't like it I can return it?" she said Yes. That's not true, the receipt states NO Refunds, and you don't know that until you buy! I called to ask and reconfirm this policy and the man on the phone was not very pleasant about the return and told me I could come discuss it with his employee, NO that's your job! I wont go back read more
