We had the seafood chowder, fried clams, and haddock bites. The chowder was okay; I prefer it to be a little thicker, but the taste was delicious. The haddock bites were lightly breaded, and this was good. I'm not a huge fan of breaded fish, but this was a game changer; moist, flaky, seasoned well, and lightly fried. And you can never go wrong with whole belly clams. The lady serving us was really friendly. And BTW, this place has the cleanest restroom I've ever seen in a restaurant. Great atmosphere, great service, great food, and plenty of parking, what more can you ask for?

I've gone other places that were more expensive and lower quality so skip those and buy from the guys that just pulled them out of the bays. It can be a little hard to find, you've got to make a sharp left as soon as you turn onto Granite St. and drive down the hill to the water. You go into the office, pick up a bag and walk down to the floating dock to get your lobsters. We picked out a couple of 1.5# lobsters, spent some time talking to the guys who'd brought them in. We went back to the office, they weighed them, we paid a pretty ridiculously low price for hard shells and took them home. They were just about the feistiest lobsters I've ever seen. It doesn't get any fresher than that.

In short, they are the agent/broker for 300+ local fishermen...selling the freshest catch hauled in daily to the public. They always have a healthy inventory of different seafood and are open all year, which is exceptionally great for off-season travelers like me. Staff are exceptionally friendly and prices are fair. Their sales can also get you product for really cheap (for example, crab is currently 10 lbs / $20 yesterday). Another cool fact is that rare lobsters do end up here once in a while. They are obviously not for sale and will be sent to a lobster "sanctuary" that does not involve a warm bath. There was a blue lobster (1 in 2 million) and two Calico lobsters (1 in 30 million) in one of the holding tanks yesterday. This is something you won't have the opportunity to see at most (if not all) seafood markets.
