It can be a little hard to find, you've got to make a sharp left as soon as you turn onto Granite St. and drive down the hill to the water. You go into the office, pick up a bag and walk down to the floating dock to get your lobsters. We picked out a couple of 1.5# lobsters, spent some time talking to the guys who'd brought them in. We went back to the office, they weighed them, we paid a pretty ridiculously low price for hard shells and took them home. They were just about the feistiest lobsters I've ever seen. In short, they are the agent/broker for 300+ local fishermen...selling the freshest catch hauled in daily to the public. They always have a healthy inventory of different seafood and are open all year, which is exceptionally great for off-season travelers like me. Staff are exceptionally friendly and prices are fair. Their sales can also get you product for really cheap (for example, crab is currently 10 lbs / $20 yesterday). Another cool fact is that rare lobsters do end up here once in a while. They are obviously not for sale and will be sent to a lobster "sanctuary" that does not involve a warm bath. There was a blue lobster (1 in 2 million) and two Calico lobsters (1 in 30 million) in one of the holding tanks yesterday. This is something you won't have the opportunity to see at most (if not all) seafood markets.
