Germans go wild for Spargelzeit every year. I know, I know, asparagus is only in season once a year. Yawn. Can we get our priorities straight? (Bitte?) Ice cream season only rolls around once a year as well. And with the inferno-inducing heat waves every summer in Berlin, I'd be more than happy to shell out €2 on a semi-daily basis for a scoop of some of the best ice cream you can find in Berlin. This single-batch ice cream is made with so much love (and flavor) that it'll be gone in the blink of eye as soon as you order--and not because it'll melt in the 90°F+/32°C+ weather... My personal go-to between March and September is the grapefruit earl grey sorbet. It's an intricate, refreshing flavor for which I'd probably have to fork over $5 at some stateside hipster ice cream place. And while the decor of Jones Ice Cream (with exposed brick, unfinished wooden tables, and plants galore) scream a bit refined, minimalist hipster, there's none of that haughty attitude behind the counter. The service here is some of the friendliest I've received in Berlin--I think the Berliner Schnauze may just be an anomaly in Akazienkiez. Once autumn rolls around, I pop in whenever I can just to order a scoop of the apple crumble ice cream. It's made with a vanilla ice cream base (with vanilla beans from Madagascar!), Holsteiner Cox apples from the north of Germany, and hazelnut cinnamon crumbs. In other words: this is one of the most delicious fall treats you could possibly think of. Apple crumble season at Jones Ice Cream leaves pumpkin spice latte season in the dust. (If there's a crispness to the air, be sure to get the apple crumble in a freshly made waffle cone for an extra €0.50... and I guess an additional scoop of chai apple cider just makes it an extra sweet match made in heaven, right?)

For Berlin or German standards straight 5/5. Wow! Super nice creamy quality ice cream with lots of toppings and varieties. 2€ per scoop sounds a lot but was absolutely ok for the taste and quality. The scoop size is standard German size (smaller than what you'd expect to get in the US). I'd definitely come back and highly recommend it if you are a ice cream lover who loves creamy ice cream with chunks of toppings. We went during the winter time and it was packed. Can't imagine how summer will look like. You can also purchase pints of their brand and waffles. They also make their own cones but charge an extra .7€ for it. If it's not busy, you can also try some Flavours which we did. Expect the lady to get annoyed and impatient if you try 4+ Flavours :D Update: Earl grey was ok, but wouldn't order again. Liked the coco brownie peanut fudge which had lots of pieces. But liked the vanilla brownie more. The coffee cookie dough is great! Overall super creamy ice cream!

I regret not trying a more adventurous flavor like roasted chicory & coffee or whiskey pecan. Still, the salted butter caramel was perfectly pleasing. There wasn't a super long line when we went, but even if there had been, the wait would have been justified. So satisfying, we contemplated getting a second cone, but ultimately decided against it. If you come to Berlin on a warm day and don't stop at Jones, you're really missing out.

I'm honestly obsessed with the flavors here and they are delicious. This is conveniently located right near my friends flat, so I've been popping in to see what flavors are in. But my favorite favorite thing is the homemade waffle cone!!

Absolutely delicious ice cream. Unique flavours, friendly staff w/no hang ups to let you try flavours and cute space in and outside. One of my favourite ice cream experiences. You won't regret coming here!

One of the best ice cream spots in Berlin, Jan and Gabrielle make every ice cream flavor from scratch, all natural and full of passion. Ask Gabrielle about her ice cream and she will share with you her passion.

Best ice cream I've had in Berlin by far. Homemade waffle cones are so worth it. Go for it, I'm telling you.

Best ice cream ever. True flavors and a perfect consistency. Doesn't come cheap but totally worth it!
