Excellent Orthopedic surgeon. Fixed my shredded meniscus. I followed his instructions and have had no issues in my recovery.

Now almost 2 years after both knee reconstructions, my status is amazing. Again I say, if you have an orthopedic knee or hip situation? Thank your lucky stars if you get to see Dr Helmuth Jones. I had watched a "youtube" video of the surgery so knew what they were doing ... only complaint I have, is that when I was in rehab, I was talking with another who had his surgery done by one of Dr. Jones' sons ... he was released and went home two hours after the surgery ... I was told I had to stay in the hospital for three days for for rehab and follow-up ... I think the bill came to $178K ... Dr Helmuth Jones s the BEST MEDICAL DOCTOR I HAVE SEEN IN YEARS.Most caring Man, He doesn't exaggerate. He tells you the truth and is excellent when giving injections in joints. I have seen him for thumb injections elbows, and both shoulders for arthriti. Looking forward to relief in base of right thumb trapezium being removed. We saw Dr. Helmuth Jones in his Chico office on Raley Blvd. I took my mom to see Dr. Jones because of a problem she is having with her knee. We chose Dr. Jones because of his excellent reputation in the community. After a quick x-ray, Dr. Jones explained the problem and was able to discuss all the treatment options in a way that my mother could understand (he even drew a picture to help her "see" the problem). Though my mom was not excited to be told that ultimately she would need surgery to correct the issue, we both left feeling confident that he is highly skilled and will do a great job! I was referred to Dr. Jones by friends. They were very pleased with his skills as a surgeon, and his overall persona. Now I am his patient and can reiterate their views of him from experience. I broke my left leg just below the knee about 5 years ago. Arthritis has settled in and walking became painful. The all too common popping, grinding and crunching feeling was becoming hard to ignore. Dr. Jones looked at the x-rays and said I may need a knee replacement. In my case however, the plates and screws below my knee from the initial break would hinder a successful knee replacement, so the hardware needed to be removed. Dr. Jones took the time to draw the recommended procedure on the paper that lines the examining table. Sweet. The outpatient surgery went exceptionally well. The hardware was removed, and the doctor went in and cleaned the knee. I felt less pain after the surgery than before the procedure, amazing! Also, I had an unsightly noticeable lump from the initial repair of my broken leg. I was so self conscious of this, that I always tried hiding it all these years. Fast forward to post-op visit. I asked him about that lump, he said he did a little something there to smooth that out. He said It's not just aesthetic, it's a matter of function. Needless to say, I am ecstatic over this! And the knee replacement? He cleaned that up, to the point that I have virtually no pain in it, and he said we can hold off on a knee replacement for awhile. My experience with Dr. Helmuth Jones was all, and more then I had hoped for. I wouldn't hesitate to refer him, or the facility he uses for outpatient surgeries...excellent. read more

I have had both knees replaced (separately!) by Dr. Helmuth Jones and heartily recommend him to anyone who has knee problems! Painful, yes, but that is to be expected. He was recommended by a retired surgeon who had worked with him and said he was "the best!" He is very respectful and caring, as well as being fully knowledgeable and capable of his craft. I hyperextended my knee and tore a meniscus. Dr. Jones was recommended to me by my sister who she told me he was good from her personal experience with him. Waiting room and sign up and everything was what I expected and the same in other offices. We interviewed, he examined the X-rays I brought from the Chico X-ray lab. Said I had a tear in the meniscus. I talked to a customer I served whom I informed I was the scheduled for the operation and she said he also took care of the best basketball athletes. Long story short I went in for the operation, was spoiled by the nurses there, knocked out, woke up 1 hour later, got up and walked to the car. Could have driven, but you know how they frown on that. Excellent service. No return visits for that other than for a release. Later fell off the roof and his son also took excellent care of my severe sprain. Warning to seniors, it took two years and I'm almost 100%. Sprains take a long time to heal. Don't go on the roof in the middle of a rain storm to fix a leaky roof. read more

Dr Helmeth Jones has done three total joint replacements on me and I wouldn't go anywhere else

First, I did not see Dr. Jones in Paradise. I saw him at the orthopedic surgery factory on Raley Blvd. After a long wait in a tiny room (but, that's the norm these days) he came in and told me that the MRI and X-rays revealed that surgery would not remove the constant pain. Then he left the room for ten minutes, coming back to tell me there was only a 2% chance that the MRI had missed something. All of this done quite coldly. Now I don't want another surgery and not needing one was okay with me, but during our visit, once he saw that surgery was not indicated, his eyes glazed over and his demeanor changed. He made it painfully clear that we were wasting his time. With that, he exited the room. My wife and I exchanged looks...that's it? He can't even say goodbye? I got dressed and we walked out, down a long hallway (how do I get out of here?) and again no one noted us leaving. The orthopedic factory is just that...a factory. Now to be fair, he could have had a terrible day before he saw me. I know how that could affect him; I worked for an orthopedic surgeon while I was in the Navy. A warm and caring surgeon. You could say that I am biased...and after all, it's just my opinion. read more
