Rick Jones and team built and installed a whole new custom kitchen for me in 2025. And now, over a year later, not a day goes by where I don't still appreciate how perfectly it meets our needs and how beautifully it matches what I envisioned it to be. They were a dream to work with. Very collaborative and accommodating. Rick always had good suggestions and ideas to help fine tune the design. He connected and coordinated with the subcontractors for electric and countertop fabrication and installation, using skilled experts with great results. I highly recommend them. read more

Having Rick re-do our 1969 kitchen cabinets was an was an extremely pleasant experience. He was very patient with my wife and I as we worked with him to come up with the final design in the kitchen and pantry that you see in the pictures. Originally we were just going to modify an existing upper cabinet so that we could add a new refrigerator underneath it and install new shelving in the pantry. We then decided to change all of the existing cabinet doors for new shaker doors and do lower cabinets and free floating shelves in the pantry so that everything would match. Since we were already this far into the process, we added pull out shelving in the existing kitchen cabinet boxes which now makes it easier to access items on these shelves. I was most impressed with how Rick was able to install infills on both sides of the microwave to make it look like it was part of the kitchens original cabinets. Rick is by far the best one of the best subcontractors that we've had work on our home, and being a commercial general contractor myself, that says a lot. His pricing is fair and the quality of his work is outstanding and exceptional. He communicates with you to make sure that you get what your expecting and there are no surprises. read more

Rick Jones did an excellent job with my kitchen remodel. Aside from building the cabinets, remodel included removing walls and also re-doing the fireplace to match the modern look I was going for. He also changed the doors to my existing built-in cabinets by the fireplace. He was very careful, wrapping the cabinets with blankets during transport so they don't get scratched or damaged. Even the painters working on my house made that observation that they've never seen anyone else do that before. Rick was very responsive to my concerns and didn't hesitate adjusting the design as I see fit during construction, creating unusual drawers to meet the design I was looking for. Most of all he was very professional and pleasant to work with. Thanks for doing an excellent job Rick! read more

Our house came with gunked up and badly abused white beadboard cabinets. Since the previous owner had glued the countertop directly onto the cabinets our only economical option was to reface. Rick was a ray of light while I was at my wits end gathering quotes and referrals during the height of remodel season. Not only did Rick pick up his phone within three rings, he showed up the following Sunday for estimate. Working with Rick is a dream for any homeowner, he continues to be jovial, kind, reliable, and patient throughout project discussions and adjustment requests. He even included new drawers not in the original quote because the existing ones were in sad shape. Our project was not a typical reface job. We needed an oven cabinet built in a tight space to edge over a doorway trim. A Fish and Paykell Dish Drawer had to be framed and a custom drawer to fill the remaining space. There were a lot of awkward spaces and angles that required careful precision cuts. Rick started the first phase of the work about a month after our initial meeting and latter phase a couple of weeks later due to materials delay. The project took about a total of four days time to install panels and drawers, veneers, pullout drawers, custom oven cabinet and countertop, garbage/recycle bin pullout, dishwasher cabinet and drawer. The results were so amazing that our regular tile guy wondered how cabinets were changed without ripping out the countertop. Our general contractor for another project asked for Rick's contact information because he was so impressed by the craftsmanship. And, of course, we are absolutely in love with our kitchen. We are so thankful for the yelp reviews that helped us find Rick. We are already working with him on another project and hope that he will agree to work with us on a few closets and bathrooms in the future. read more

THE best contractor experience we've ever had. Rick and his team remodeled our kitchen and family room this year and the results exceeded our expectations. From the very start, they were professional, communicative and listened to all our needs (or if we changed our mind on something ; ) ) all the way through the process. Our remodel included knocking down walls, raising a ceiling and tearing out a fireplace and were meticulous with clean up each day. We really can't say enough good things, except to say that we would definitely use them again! Thank you Rick! read more

I do not normally write reviews on Yelp, but i had to make an exception for someone who truly deserves one. We just had our kitchen done by Rick. I can tell you that i could not have wished for anything better! First Impression: Rick first came over to run through the design with me. His personality is respectful, warm, welcoming, and humorous. He is professional in appearance. Despite not knowing what we wanted (other than a new kitchen) the design process went very smooth and easy. Rick had a lot of great advice to offer as well as an artistic eye which really helped out. All of my favorite parts about the kitchen ended up being ideas of Rick. Work ethic: The cabinets took a few weeks to build before construction could start. We were very impressed with Ricks work ethic as well as his crew Erik, and Tory. They were all very respectful and professional. Before stepping foot in our house each day they would lay a big matt down to cover the flooring ensuring that they would not make a mess. After each day they would break everything down into an organized spaces and cleaned up nicely. They made the whole construction process inconspicuous and hassle free. It seemed as though they were not even there and our house was just moving further along the process each day. When they were around it wasnt bothersome. In fact their company lightened the mood in the house. Even with some surprises like hidden gas lines the construction completed in 3 weeks which was right on schedule. There was no rush work. The flawless timing was due to what must have been a well thought out strategy. We were very impressed with the passion involved in Rick's craft. He really goes the extra mile to ensure that his work far surpasses expectations. Our window frame was an entire improvisation by Rick. Little details that i asked for such as a rounded edge on a particular cabinet, or my wanting the wine cooler to be flush to the cabinet did not go unheard. Also, after the kitchen was finished i asked if we could have another pull out drawer in our pantry which Rick was very responsive to. Another drawer was hand built and installed within a few days. There are no imperfections that i can point out that bother me. The devil is in the detail. The craftsmanship and attention to detail went far beyond our expectations. While writing this review i am sipping on a glass of wine from a bottle that Rick left us on his last day. Rick really set the bar high on the scale of excellency, which i dont think many would be able to match. Conclusion: The experience we had with Rick and his crew was one that i would offer to anyone. Rick and his crew are very professional. The overall process went very smooth. The craftsmanship was impressive. I couldnt have asked for a better experience than what was given to us. Thank you Rick, Tory, Erik, and Andre! You really made our experience a good one. I will be calling you back for more projects in the future. read more

This review is long overdue! Three years ago, I hired Rick and his team to build a custom storage bench and built-in daybed/bookshelf. The daybed in particular was a job that required a lot of creative thinking given the layout of the room, placement of the windows, crown moulding, and my specifications regarding mattress height, backrest incline, etc. What Rick turned around was nothing less than a bespoke creation that exceeded all my expectations. Both daybed and bench have shown no signs of wear over the past three years (despite daily heavy use with a homebound 2 and 4 year old during that period). We were so pleased with the quality of these pieces that we kept thinking of additional tasks to bring them back since (two built in shoe racks, hallway shelving, 3 deluxe closet systems, and other odds and ends). Having strangers in your home these days can feel invasive and nerve-racking, particularly with little ones underfoot, but Rick and his team (his family, rather, as this is truly a family run business) are warm and friendly, extremely professional, and safety minded. I particularly appreciated them disclosing that their entire team is fully vaccinated and masked during the installation. Attached you are the photos of the daybed and bench (but it pains me that the photo doesn't do justice to the daybed/shelving, as the narrow dimensions of the room limit the viewing angle). read more

Two Brother team of handymen. Excellent service; I don't know why they don't have more reviews. Anyway, we had cranky window cranks along with a host of other doo-dads to take care of, and Rick came by and fixed everything. Bathroom fans, check. Frame attic access point, check. Remove/Fix stripped screw in front door, check! The list goes on... The most impressive part was getting the correct window cranks for our casement windows. They are not available locally, so Rick went online and hunted down the correct units, and came by and installed them. If you have ever seen casement windows, the mechanism is a bear to deal with--I looked at it and turned around. That's why Rick does what he does! I would not hesitate to call them again. They perform careful work and make sure things are done right...not necessarily just done, which many "professionals" may do... read more

I was shopping around for a company that would reface my old, worn out kitchen cabinets and was not having a lot of luck. I visited YELP and saw Rick's raving reviews and gave him a call. From the first time I met Rick I knew he was the guy!! He showed up promptly for the consultation and he brought all of his brochures, samples, binder of photos (before & after) and a great big smile. I am a huge advocate of customer service, and if I don't get it, you won't get hired!! Needless to say, my husband and I hired him on the spot and he began the building of our cabinets and starting measuring for the reface. My cabinets before were maple with a white-washed varnish; they were extremely worn out and peeling. I wanted Cherry hardwood and soft-close cabinets and drawers. I personally didn't think that it was at all possible for them to be refaced ... I thought that I was going to have to gut the entire kitchen and start over. Rick assured me that he could do it and he really met my expectations and then some. Rick is an absolute perfectionist and he also has vision. He went above and beyond what I wanted and turned my kitchen into a showcase; no one can even tell that the cabinets were refaced. They look like cherry wood, through and through. They are beautiful!! Rick's service was always done with a smile and he was very prompt in getting back to me with emails and calls. I was in very competent and good hands. He and his crew were always on time and they were very professional throughout the entire remodel. I am very, very happy with the results and I highly recommend him for a cabinet remodel and reface. Thank you Rick for a job well done! read more

Rick and his team did a remodel of my walk-in closet. I now have tons of extra space and great organization! Rick helped me plan out the spacing for my closet (because I had a very vague idea of what I wanted) which was great. He was very intuitive of my needs for shoes, purses, hanging space and extra storage. I've been so happy with my closet! I'd definitely recommend him to someone and will definitely use them when I own a home and need any sort of cabinetry work done! read more

Rick and his bro' did a very nice bathroom tile job. His estimate was reasonable and work was timely. But the one thing that stood out about Rick was when on a Saturday night there was water leaking near the newly tiled bathroom. Rick didn't think he caused the problem, but there he was bright and shiny on a SUNDAY morning assessing the situation. Of course, he was right. The leak was completely unrelated to his work. How many contractors will pay a Sunday visit? I highly recommend Rick for his integrity and professionalism. It was a pleasure working with him. read more

Just wanted to update my review... It has been over a year since Rick and his son installed our custom cabinets and they look just as good as the day they were installed. We recently contacted Rick via email as one of our wonderful drawers was tilting ever so slightly from the weight of our entire dinnerware set (probably 50 pounds). Rick was out 2 days later, repaired and reinforced the drawer and it's better than new. Extraordinary customer service and attention to detail. I can't recommend them highly enough. read more

I love, love, love my new kitchen! It was so easy to work with Rick and his team. They are the best! THANK YOU!

Rick is a dream come true and it was really a pleasure to work with him and his team. He did an amazing job on our kitchen, vanity and laundry room cabinets and they look beautiful! I had a lot of requests on the design and looks of the cabinets and he did everything within his power to execute them. There were a few oopsies that happened along the way (these happen on every project; some my fault, some theirs, and some just happen) and Rick was always there to fix them without hesitation. He takes a lot of pride in his work and is so easy to work with. He went above and beyond multiple times with our project; always making sure that we would be happy customers. He was engaged at every step of the process, from design to installation. He does not like to see any wasted storage space and will make suggestions on how to gain or use extra space. The cabinets are very high quality and he uses the best hardware. His prices are extremely fair. I would work with him again in a heartbeat and hope to have that privilege again on another project. Thank you so much Rick, Eric and Torey!!! read more

I posted a review on Rick's brother's Yelp posting as well since Rick and Dave both worked on my kitchen remodel. My wife and I decided to remodel our old, outdated kitchen. We checked out pretty much every local wholesale and retail business (Home depot, Deco, Lowes, etc) and were left with a kitchen that either busted our budget (Lowes quoted us around $19,000) or a cheaper kitchen that only allowed for cookie cutter options with inferior wood (Deco, wholesale kitchen warehouses, etc). Finally, at my wits end I decided to check out Craigslist adds and came across these two brothers. I called them up, somewhat cautiously since it was a Craigslist posting. Upon meeting them in person however, I was impressed by Dave and Rick at their confidence level and the experience they demonstrated just through the initial consultation. They said they could custom build my kitchen and still come within my budget. Boy did they ever! I got everything I wanted in my kitchen, and they did it with such professionalism and got everything done within a reasonable time. The price was half Lowes/Home Depot but the quality was much more superior than the wholesale businesses with cheap quality wood. Plus, the kitchen was CUSTOM BUILT to my exact specifications (Rick designed my cabinets specifically for my space). You can see my kitchen if you look in the photos Rick has posted on the Yelp review. It's the one with the pullouts underneath the sink. What I like about these guys is they're passionate about their work. This is something they appear to enjoy doing and it shows in the end product. All in all, great experience and would highly recommend! It has been six months since my kitchen installation from Dave and Rick and have NO PROBLEMS! I posted pictures of before and after photos of my kitchen on the business' page for those who are curious what the workmanship looks like in the Yelp review for David's business [David does a general handyman service and Rick builds custom kitchens]. read more

We just love our new kitchen! We had bids from four different contractors and we chose Rick and his team, what a great decision and we couldn't be happier. When you chose Jones cabinets, it isn't your typical refacing. Rick uses real wood, not veneer strips. He is a craftsman who is great at his craft. The team is very friendly, hard working and conscientious :~) read more

Excellent service. Rick returned calls & emails promptly. Courteous, Polite and knowledgeable. Covered tile while he worked on the fans. Fair price, arrived on time & completed all the jobs on time. Replace exhaust fan in bathroom with upgrade kit 5. Replace exhaust fan in laundry room with upgrade kit 6. Replace wheels on sliding screen door and adjust 7. I have been doing several replacement projects around two homes. I typically use Yelp to get the highest rated firms in each category and interview from that pool. I had begun to lose faith in Yelp after I picked a 5 star landscaper and the project turned into a nightmare. With Jones Custom Cabinets, however, my faith has been renewed. Rick and his team are a joy to work with. They are great at what they do, prompt, easy to work with, flexible, reasonably priced, and honest!!! No being nickle and dimed to death like with some contractors. My cabinets are beautiful and are exactly what I wanted. Rick and his team made the whole experience as painless as it could be. I was also impressed by the other people he recommended to do other kitchen projects. Definitely worthy of the 5 star rating!! read more

I highly recommend Rick Jones for cabinet work. I would hire him again myself next time if I have another project. He is very professional and his service charge is reasonable. I am very impressed with his workmanship and truly thankful for his service. I consider myself very lucky to find Rick for my project. I am an out-of-town landlord. The bathroom cabinet needed to be replaced due to water damage. With all things considered I could only have it refaced (replaced partially) instead of a complete overhaul. It is a small custom job. I had a hard time finding a contractor to take the job even with more money. Rick came to the rescue. He went above and beyond to satisfy all the requirements and charged a reasonable price only. He is professional with all communications and paper work. The first time he came to do the installation with all his parts and equipment, my tenant missed the appointment which I felt so bad. Rick handled it professionally and came again later to finish the job beautifully. I really would like to see honest professionals get the reward they deserve: respect, compliments and more business opportunities. That is why I am writing this review. read more

Rick and David are awesome. Based on another review here, I decided to give them a call along with a few other handyman services. They were able to come out and look at the projects quickly. They gave me a detailed line item quote (as opposed to the off-the-cuff quotes that the others gave), and were the most competitive price. The work was absolutely top notch. Everything they worked on, they made sure to do right. They were also super responsive when I had questions or changes to my initial requests. The jobs they have done for me so far: - Installed 2 new bathroom exhaust fans (where none had existed), including wiring and new timed switches - Installed a weatherproof outdoor outlet on my back patio - Removed old, rotting wooden siding from my house. Replaced it with fiber cement siding that will last a lifetime. They added some extra trim around the garage door, and painted the whole project. My house looks brand new, talk about raising curb appeal! - While working on the siding, they discovered a broken pipe that had been making my kitchen smell for months. They fixed it, no more smell! - While they were out working, my dishwasher broke (unrelated to their work). They fixed it. Works great again! - Repaired and re-mortared a brick retaining wall in front of my house. As you can see, they can do anything. I am busy compiling a wish list to have them fix up the rest of my house. :) read more

I hired Rick earlier this year to modify a built-in entertainment cabinet in my new home to accommodate a larger TV. He was very helpful in providing suggestions on how to accomplish this, provided quotes for a couple of different options, and he and his team did a great job on the project. Highly recommended. read more

I am not sure if the other comments are no longer true or were never true. We had the most unprofessional experience with Rick. Called him three times and left clear and detailed voicemail and he never got back to us - like for two weeks total. Then he got back after the fourth time, and I suspect our of frustration with hearing the same message. He was not enthusiastic on the phone - it was not a small job or a big one either. He gave us an appointment at 8:30 am on a weekday. We changed our work schedules to accommodate the appointment of his choosing. He never showed up! Never called! I would not trust him with a job. read more

More projects completed by Rick (with Dave's assistance). I only wish I could give more than 5 stars!!

Our very dated and smaller space required custom cabinets to maximize utility. Rick brings the necessary level of experience and craftsmanship to implement our design. Not having a functional kitchen during a cabinet replacement can be challenging. Rick is respectful of the homeowners' time and the space which he is working and adapts well to scheduling conflicts. Communication is often the primary weakness of many contractors. Rick is very responsive and we always looked forward to his updates. Rick did an excellent job creating what we envisioned. read more

We were looking for a professional to replace all of our cabinet hinges and add knobs to all of our maple cabinets throughout our home. I called many businesses but they all said they would only do new cabinets. Finally, Rick Jones answered my call and I explained my needs.
