Yes, that's what I said. I couldn't afford the meds I was prescribed for a life threatening condition and my insurance wouldn't cover it. They found a coupon to help me with the funds and potentially saved my life! Thank you, Loogootee CVS.

On our recent trip down to southern Indiana this year we needed to make an emergency bathroom stop…read morebecause of an errant cup of coffee before our three hour journey. The coffee hit my passenger after we had been through Spencer so we were in the middle of nowhere. After 14 miles and a lot of suffering on her part we came in to Loogootee, Indiana and several options for bathrooms. We saw the McDonald's and the marathon gas station near each other. I made the call for the marathon as the McDonald's route would have surely piqued the interest of the kids in the car. As we approached the turn to go in to the station I spotted a CVS. We had been to the Loogootee CVS before in years past (for the same purpose) on this trip and I knew it as a safe bet for a friendly staff and a clean bathroom. We pulled in and immediately noticed that the outside looked uncharacteristically unkempt. It just looked a little run down. It's an older store and we know outside appearances aren't always a reflection of what the inside is like. While it's not always the case, in this case we should have tucked tail. Upon entering the store we found the typical CVS store with the typical CVS staff but the bathrooms were something out of a germaphobes nightmare. The sink was filthy, the paper towel had lazily been stowed on top of the dispenser instead of loading it inside. The floors looked like the floors of a venue after a large, rowdy concert. And the toilets, oh the toilets. The men's and women's (according to the ladies who were with us) both appeared to have been sprayed all along the bowl by someone having a much worse day than me. I would have considered that it could have been so recent that they just didn't have time to address it if the rest of the bathroom wasn't so filthy. While we normally purchase snacks for the remaining 45 minutes of our trip, I didn't feel like contributing to the bottom line of a store that can't be bothered with cleaning. If that how the bathrooms look, how does the stock room where the food products are stored look? Unfortunately I didn't take a picture of the outside of the store and I'll spare everyone the close-up of the toilets. Because it is a CVS and the staff was kind and the store shelves were stocked I'll give them a mid-rating but they are going to have to address their hygiene issues before I consider an upgrade.
