Jon seems to think that yelling at women and harassing them is acceptable. His broker was one hour late because she forgot about my appointment. (I drove 2 hours from out of state). She knew nothing about the apartment and landlord. Before signing the lease Jon told me that the landlord was good about repairs and he was a client for 20 years. It turned out that the landlord refused to perform all repairs! I had to pay out of my own pocket. The oven did not work. The glass was separating from the rotting window frames allowing cold air to come in. The vent in the closet size bathroom with no window did not work, welcoming profuse MOLD growth. The built-in credenza reeked of old mold! Permeating the living room. I have been renting for 40 years and I have never had such a bad landlord! On top of it I caught him staring at me a few times through my windows while exiting the bathroom in a towel. I wrote a letter to JonCar Realty with a list of 13 needed repairs. He called me up, yelled at me and told me that I HAD to move out in two months! And I had signed a one year lease. What he did to me was illegal! On the day of my move Jon Miller, his real name, phoned me and screamed at me repeatedly that it was against the law to move on the last day of the month! (The landlord had approved it and Jon's name was not on the lease as the property management agent.) He kept screaming at me to finish my move within 2 hours because he was to inspect the property for the landlord and he was finishing his work at five. In summary, Jon Miller, the proprietor of JonCar Realty, took my money and refused to reimburse me for poor service, refused to help me find a better apartment, was verbally abusive, and harassed me. read more

Avoid this realty office. They encouraged me to rent an apartment that was larger than I needed and came with a $550 realtor fee that I had to pay them. And they would only accept bank checks that had to be sent by express, certified mail (more fees I had to pay). They told me there was a rush because they had other people interested in the place, but the other people had children and they did not want to rent the apartment to people with children. I only found out later (after signing the lease) that the apartment was owned by the realtor's family. So they are just funneling money from one family member to the other. The whole thing seemed sketchy to me. Since there are many other realtors in the area, I would definitely recommend staying away from this realty office. read more

We cannot say enough positive things about working with Jon. He is 200% trustworthy and reliable, and anyone we spoke with in Beacon vouched for his character and work ethic (seriously, we don't know when he sleeps) We were looking for a duplex in Beacon (a rare property in that market) and Jon never wasted our time with less-than-ideal properties. He actually found a perfect place for us before it was listed and patiently answered all of our questions and concerns as we worked through the negotiations. Throughout a very lengthy, unconventional sale he was always honest, professional, reassuring, prompt and communicative (even when WE were impatient and demanding! Sorry Jon!) We rented an apartment from John, actually the apartment right above the office on Main St. Aside from having a beautiful space, lots of character, a good size, and unbeatable location, John was a good landlord and offered us a fair price. He was willing to meet our dog (who is a nice calm apartment dog) and made an exception to his pet policy for us only asking for some extra security deposit, which is understandable. When we were ready to move out he was very flexible. He let us extend our lease one month and then when we got stuck with another place and double renting, even though he couldnt work out a new tenant early enough, he split the last months rent with us! He basically let us off early when he had no obligation to do that. John was very responsive when we had serious issues (our heat went out once or twice over the winter, he would get people there same day to fix the boiler and ended up replacing it entirely). One thing is that for smaller issues (leaky faucet handle, wobbly doorknob) he was a bit unresponsive, but that was no big deal to us. Aside from that he was happy being a quiet landlord as long as we had no issues and we were fine with that. Overall he was a great landlord and we loved living in that apartment!! read more

avoid! i rented an apt from them and felt completely duped afterwards. the owner of this place was also the landlord for my new apt and at the signing of the lease was given his word on certain things and they were never followed through with. i was made to feel silly for wanting certain things in writing and fell for it - my fault - but later was completely let down and totally fooled. i would never give them my business again would highly suggest taking yours elsewhere. unfortunately they have a bit of a monopoly of the area so if you deal with anyone here talk to kelly - as the other review suggests - she is great and professional. do not deal with the owner, jon - his business ethics are highly questionable and i would not trust him to do what's best for you, only for himself. read more
