As a professional musician, I need a technician, like a doctor, to provide a thorough examination and diagnosis of any issues. I tried three tuners after moving a Steinway M from Manhattan to the Cape in 2001, before I found Jim Pfeiffer. And since my 1985 Grotrian concert grand arrived in 2004, he's kept this exceptional piano in excellent shape. Jim recently replaced the felts in 15 dampers in the mid-low range (where there are 2 strings per pitch) that were causing the sound to ring after releasing the pedal. He ordered parts to match the originals, glued each one, and reinstalled the dampers. No more ringing! My ear can tell me when a tuning is needed, but when technical expertise is required, I'm glad to trust the recommendations of a reliable master technician.

I see it had not been serviced for over 6 months even though the previous owners had an ongoing contract. During the big March '26 storm of course it failed to work. I had to call another repair service to get it working. I called Knight again recently 2x no call back. Lame company who had their stickers all over the generator and in the basement. No more stickers here now. They only want BIG money for new installs.What a horrible company with a nasty woman/girl who answers the phone. You can do better Knight but you will not bc for you it is ALL ABOUT THE MONEY NOT YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Shame on you.

So I wanted a local electrician to come out to figure it out and fix. I wanted an actual local electrician not some company 2 hours away that pops up at the top of the list just because they want to start providing "service" in the area. (Found that out when trying to find a "local" deck builder a few years ago via Yelp). Anyhow, I called Ed, explained the problem, he had me check a few things, and pretty much identified the problem over the phone. He said he was on another job at the moment and would get back to me later in the day. Unlike many of the other services I've reached out to on Yelp lately, he actually followed through and came by late afternoon. Within about 10 to 15 minutes he found a short in an outlet and fixed the problem. I will not hesitate to contact Ed again for all my electrical needs!
