Dr Chung remedied the badly moved upper front teeth to their former positions. He also corrected my overcrowded lower teeth without the need to pull out any tooth as several others had suggested. When I chipped my tooth, I had no choice but to seek a new dentist and that's when my friend recommended him. Words cannot describe how amazing he is along with his staff, especially Heather and his receptionists, Michelle and Lil. They make you feel extremely comfortable and are non judgemental. They are super gentle, very soothing and most importantly very caring. Prior to setting up an appointment, I worried about being judged for the lengthy amount of time of not visiting the dentist. They were just the opposite of that. I never felt I was judged at all, in-fact, they were very sympathetic. Dr Sandy Ko and his staff have gone above and beyond to change my bad experience to a good one. I had also been prescribed Ativan for each time I visited his office. I now no longer feel the need to take Ativan prior to each visit. Him and his staff are honestly the greatest. I want to thank him and all of his staff for everything they have done to change my experience! I highly recommend him!!

I've also found their process frustrating, with multiple consultations, difficulty booking appointments, and a feeling that I'm getting the runaround or that I'm just a walking invoice. For example, I booked an appointment for a cleaning, only to be told that they could only fit me in for half a cleaning and that I would need to book the second half months later. Who only books a half cleaning? What a waste of my time! Now I have to book two afternoons off work. Also, after my new patient exam at Hastings, I was referred to their Broadway location regarding a couple of teeth (possible root canal). At that appointment, I was told I could also get a second opinion at a completely different location if I wanted one. I was confused - just give me the root canal. Why did the original dentist at Hasting (who is the Owner by the way) refer me to Broadway, where I was told I could get a second opinion somewhere else? Why doesn't the Owner have the expertise to tell me these things? I've now seen three different dentists over the period of a few months. So, needless to say, I'm not loving the lack of consistency. Anyway, I am frustrated because I've been taking time off work for appointments that don't always result in a clear decision or completed treatment, and I continually have to book another appointment for something else. My insurance coverage for the year is running out, and I still need a root canal, which I might not have enough coverage to pay for because of their inefficiency. That said, I do feel their staff provides good-quality work. I've had one half clearing and one filling done, and from what I can tell, it was done well. As for the environment, some people may appreciate the concrete, minimalist design of the office, but I find it cold and impersonal. Because it concrete building, concrete floors and walls, the office is loud. You hear drilling and all kinds of sounds happening around the office. It's just very buzzy and echo-y, which doesn't make for a relaxing dental experience. What this all boils down to is that I am now looking for a new dentist. I don't want to keep giving this dental office my time and money because I disagree with how they run their business.

First time, Dr Roach gave it a look and suggested waiting for Dr Quadir to make a root canal. Wait WHAT? I'd read all about root canals and I didn't want to, but he kindly explained the benefits so... Ok. First root canal session was considerably painful because of hot tooth. Instead of just "going for it", Dr Quadir gave me some medications, did a bit of temp filling and sent me home to wait for next week. Needless to say I was afraid, but I gotta admit she was kind and patient even with my 7-year-old-like behavior. The 2nd session was absolutely a different thing. With the hot tooth gone, I just felt a bit of pain some 3 or 4 times. That aside, it was as uncomfortable as a root canal can be but not painful at all. Both Dr Quadir and her assistant were very kind, always asking if I wanted to proceed (probably derived from my scared puppy behavior last time) or stop for a moment, evidently taking their time to make things right but without wasting it or anything. TL;DR: Awesome. If an odontophobic like me felt quite comfortable there, guess anyone will!

I told her this and she just proceeded along as normal saying she "had another patient so we needed to just get this done". So that already I found bizarre and I probably should have stopped the appointment then and there but I really wanted to get my cavity taken care of. The second injection she gave me was so painful I flinched and started pulling away from her. She actually RAISED HER VOICE at me and was yelling at me not to move. I sat up and her and her assistant just started at me completely silently. It was so incredibly awkward. It was really obvious they wanted me to leave so after a few moments i said "so...I guess this isn't happening today" and started crying because I had really wanted to get my cavity taken care of.
