We live in New York and we're driving through new Jersey on our way back home from a month long road trip. When we walked in, every employee we encountered was warm and inviting. We tried some sushi rolls and they were fresh and delicious. I picked up some organic peanut butter and snacks. We also picked up organic peeled tomatoes and bread flour to make marinara sauce and pizza dough. The cashier was kind and and was playful with our daughters. There was a man on line that recognized my husband's veteran hat and struck up a conversation about his service in the military. Before hitting the road we used the bathroom and it was very clean. When I went to go check out, I asked the cashier if she could tell me the price of one of items I picked up. She told me that she was refusing to sell me anything. This was absolutely ridiculous. They drug screen and turns out their judgment was wrong and all I want to do to purchase my items and go home. Hard to find items that you would find in a good well stocked natural food store or cooperative like Mom's is. Staff is friendly. The layout of the store is a labyrinth that can be confusing like a rubik's cube too far gone yet with a little patience and perhaps asking security, staff, or one of the regulars they can help you get your learning curve to navigate the store of organic natural food product heaven. Within Mom's is the Naked Lunch vegan restaurant which I will return to have a bite there as it looks interesting. Mom's has been family owned and operated since 1987. Great bulk bin items. Great produce. In a word, great. Mom's sets the bar high for a natural food store. They are like the special forces of natural food stores which is quite alright in my book.Each day Mom's states customers prevent 9,233 grocery bags from being used. Mom's has banned over 250 ingredients from our products storewide. Mom's has chosen to print their receipts on BPA and BPS free paper products for the safety of it's community and the environment. In a word...Yes!

Turns out, I most definitely was. Sara's has inexpensive produce of decent quality. Sometimes the lettuce or kale is a little limp, so I just skip it that week. I can shave about $10 off my produce bill for the week over shopping for the same items at Wegmans. Sure, the selection is rather limited. But it covers the basics well. And there's some unique produce available that you can't find easily elsewhere (mayme sapote and prickly pear cactus pads, for example).
