I was pleasantly surprised to see that they have a parking lot! Bonus! I was told they've been there about a year. Nice and clean, well organized and easy to get around in with a shopping cart. Lots of different things to pick from. I was able to get some great deals on foods. I plan on making it part of my errands and go there more often. They do have an app and emails that offer coupons too!

I decided to take the cash out of my purse and hold it in my hand to show that I was planning on purchasing the food I was picking up and not stealing it. The fact I even had to do this is ridiculous however I did it anyways. But that did not stop the harassment all five employees that were in the store at the time we're standing together snickering and whispering under their breath to each other staring at me and laughing. When I went to go check out, I asked the cashier if she could tell me the price of one of items I picked up. She told me that she was refusing to sell me anything. This was absolutely ridiculous. They drug screen and turns out their judgment was wrong and all I want to do to purchase my items and go home. Not only was the entire shopping experience embarrassing and upsetting but it was a total waste of time. They have egg on their face and they don't like that so now they're refusing to sell me anything. I hope your experience is better than mine

I do not live close by, so I have to wait for someone to drive me there…read more Today I was happy and kind of sad. Looks like there will be a new Management coming soon, or are they there already? There were a lot of new people walking around with laptops up and down the aisles. I believe Cousins will not be cousins anymore. I hope that the new owners do not change or that they do make things better. I go there because I am Boricua, and where I live,e there are no stores that carry what they do. They even have a little section of Mediterranean products, which I love because I can't find them where I live; It is definitely going to change I noticed that today, and I hope it will be for the better. I almost forgot how happy I was in the produce section. I found Panas, omg I was thinking about those yesterday and how much I wanted to have some. I found them, and they were pricey, but I didn't care. I would have to go to Puerto Rico to have that, lol. Thank you so much for having them. I think in English they are called Breadfruit

This place is just the perfect size with the great products that everyone needs in their home

I am currently living in San Francisco so San Franciscans in Philly can think of Mom's Organic Market akin to Rainbow Grocery in SF. Mom's has a great variety of local and organic produce. Hard to find items that you would find in a good well stocked natural food store or cooperative like Mom's is. Staff is friendly. The layout of the store is a labyrinth that can be confusing like a rubik's cube too far gone yet with a little patience and perhaps asking security, staff, or one of the regulars they can help you get your learning curve to navigate the store of organic natural food product heaven. Within Mom's is the Naked Lunch vegan restaurant which I will return to have a bite there as it looks interesting. I am a proud graduate of the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics at Naropa University in Boulder, CO where I received the William S. Burroughs scholarship. I did my thesis on William S. Burroughs and William S. Burroughs wrote Naked Lunch aka the cut up novel for which this restaurant is named. Since I was in Philly two weeks I was mixing up dining out at the wonderful vegan foodie scene in Philly along with cooking at my homestay. For cooking at my homestay at Mom's I picked up the following: Soymilk Local and organic blueberries Bananas Garnet jewel sweet potatoes Limes Avocados Organic granny smith apples Red cabbage Ginger root Sweet yellow onion I am pretty sure all the produce was organic. Mom's has been family owned and operated since 1987. Great bulk bin items. Great produce. In a word, great. Mom's sets the bar high for a natural food store. They are like the special forces of natural food stores which is quite alright in my book. Each day Mom's states customers prevent 9,233 grocery bags from being used. Mom's has banned over 250 ingredients from our products storewide. Mom's has chosen to print their receipts on BPA and BPS free paper products for the safety of it's community and the environment. In a word...Yes!

I live off of Haddon Ave, and try to shop locally as much as possible. When I first moved to…read moreCollingswood, I lamented the lack of a good market on Haddon. National Food Market is a joke (that more often than not reeks of old meat). Healthworks is great, but without produce. From May through November, this isn't a problem because the farmer's market is there to meet all my produce needs. But where on the Ave can you get produce when the farmer's market is off season? Admittedly, I walked past Sara's for months without giving it much thought. I assumed that it was just another National Food Market-esque establishment. It's hard to tell from the outside, as the windows are full of plants and the door was always closed. But after checking out Yelp, I decided to go in and see if I was missing something. Turns out, I most definitely was. Sara's has inexpensive produce of decent quality. Sometimes the lettuce or kale is a little limp, so I just skip it that week. I can shave about $10 off my produce bill for the week over shopping for the same items at Wegmans. Sure, the selection is rather limited. But it covers the basics well. And there's some unique produce available that you can't find easily elsewhere (mayme sapote and prickly pear cactus pads, for example). Like another reviewer suggested, I stop by Sara's and by what I can there, and just use the grocery store to supplement what I can't get through supporting local!
