So crazy that it hasn't changed a bit since I would go here on school trips years and years ago. The exhibits continue to offer so much! From taking you through the dino-ages, to exploring the rainforest, and Native American history. Lots of areas to check out. Favorite has to be the Streets of Old Milwaukee which is just so immersive. We also love the butterfly room (so many live butterflies!) and the planetarium dome theater, which shows various educational films. They ask that you don't have food and drinks while touring around (understandable), but they have a huge cafe/dining area on the ground level. It's great because you can bring your own packed lunch and snacks, or purchase from their various offerings. Underground parking, easy check-in, and friendly staff, too!

I enjoyed bringing my own kids when they were little and seeing the exhibits through their enthusiasm. I have nostalgic memories of MPM and I really hope that transcends to the soon to be new facility. I hear the streets of Milwaukee exhibit will be modified in the move. To the powers that be that may stumble across this review - this exhibit and what you do with it when you move will do a lot to make or break public sentiment.

The venue is stunning and it's a cool event. Year two was a little underwhelming. We didn't enjoy the exhibits as much, the food choices were underwhelming and the drinks were expensive and boring. Year three, this year, we were once again impressed by the event. Some designs you love, some not so much. The museum, however, has stepped up their food offerings and specialty cocktails and therefore created a more cohesive vibe. They do seem to have multiplied their security staff by about 4X during the show and the guards were a little bit intrusive, but I get it. And yes, I took a zillion pictures every year, but they are very specific to the event and didn't represent the normal vibe, so I'm not sharing them all here.

Offering a good mix of engineering, physics, chemistry and biology exhibits, there's a discipline for everyone. I love the corporate collaborations with some of the areas best known companies. The staff does an excellent job of making sure all the hands on exhibits are in working order, which tends to be the biggest problems at these types of museums. Moore's classic poem, Twas the Night Before Christmas. Entry is $10 per person on festive Friday. Reservations were needed and groups of people entered about 5-10 minutes apart. In each room, there was a narrator to tell us details about the room and how it related to the book. It was a cute event that helped put me in the Christmas spirit. The only downside was that there wasn't much art during our visit. And because the timed tours were coming through, we didn't get much time to look around before we had to move to the next room. It felt a bit rushed. I wish in addition to the guided tour, we could have time to look around on our own.

There is a main gallery with a couple dozen dinosaur skeleton casts (no real fossils), the main point of which is to illustrate therapod evolution towards modern birds. Also on the first floor are a series of kid-oriented stations to describe how fossils are formed and then how they are uncovered by paleontologists. On the lower level are a children's play area (big rug, toys, books, small tables and chairs); several display cases containing small fossils; and three large windows looking into the paleontology lab. During our visit, there was a triceratops skull in two large pieces laid out on the lab table closest to the windows. Very cool!

This was our first visit…read more I had no idea what to expect, and I was pleasantly surprised at all the different villages, and the workers they had there in period clothing, explaining to the visitors what they were doing. It was lovely to me and through all the different villages, and take in the history of it all. I would love to see it in fall. I'm sure it is absolutely as beautiful as in every season. Highly recommend for all age groups.

Thankfully, they offer trams to bring you between the villages. We opted to walk and it was quite the work out on a late July day. But, loved the experience to help bring us back in time a bit. They do have a few treats along the way like ice cream, food and beer/canned adult beverages/soda, but I definitely recommend you bring water or snacks. It can be a long day if you take your time and check out all the buildings, which I highly recommend. The staff are so friendly and informative and answer questions patiently. Very impressed with all of the staff!!

The artwork on display is incredible, with some genuinely masterful pieces, as well as more modern interpretations. Mostly paintings with some sculptures, iron work, and videos. They even have a rooftop which offers incredible views of the skyline and features several large sculptures, just bw aware that it's closed for winter. I took an hour and a half to get through it, and that's just taking a peak at the rooftop. I would say you could spend upwards of 2 hours here with little difficulty.
