-1 Star Google Review -- Jonathan Stone, Esq. Extremely…read moredisappointing experience. I retained Jonathan Stone, Esq. to represent me in a Superior Court matter. Unfortunately, I lost confidence in his handling of my case and ultimately terminated his representation. Among the issues I experienced: * Court-ordered case deadlines were not met. * The defendants, my expert witness, and my eyewitness were never deposed. * I paid for a supplemental expert opinion at Mr. Stone's direction, but it was never submitted to the Court or opposing counsel. * I repeatedly asked about a proposed Settlement Agreement and was told Mr. Stone had not received it. I later obtained documentation showing that defense counsel had sent it to him on March 16, 2026, followed by additional emails on March 18 and 19. * After terminating his services on May 28, 2026, I requested my complete client file and made additional follow-up calls. Because of these issues, I filed a formal complaint with the New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics requesting an investigation. This review reflects my personal experience and the facts I documented in my complaint. I am posting it so that anyone considering retaining Mr. Stone can make an informed decision.

He is diligent, thorough, and very thoughtful. He spent quite a bit of time with my wife and me to ensure we carefully considered all our options when completing each document. All of whom had equally positive experiences working with him. This firm is highly recommended.

Richard walked me through the sale of my home last week (10/2013). He was highly recommended to me…read moreby someone whom I trust, however I was still anxious about how things would go since I have used "highly recommended" lawyers in the past who did very little work and offered the following advice, "tell me what you'd like to do," and when I asked for their thoughts/input/guidance all I got was, "it's your call." My transaction was riddled with difficulties on the seller's end (bizarro demands for "upgrades" despite the "as is" contract they signed) and Richard really kept me calm. He knew exactly how to handle things, worked really well with the seller's attorney and kept me posted every step of the way. I also was able to get exactly what was agreed upon initially (despite the insane upgrade requests) without having to kill the deal- which I had little hope for, but Richard reassured me would work out. There were no hidden or extra fees (and I thought his fees were very reasonable). Also, I asked for him to quote me a maximum, because I just wanted an idea of worst case scenario...and all his scenarios and fees made sense and he stuck to them. I called him a lot and he was always there to talk to me, personally. Yes,you read correctly: personally. I'm still shocked at how much attention I got. He's a great mix of intelligent and down-to-earth. I will definitely use him moving forward and feel more confident about pursuing property interests knowing I can turn to him. NOTE: I would not describe myself as easy to please. I do not suffer fools kindly, and my expectations are high. I also am an Italian(American) woman from NJ - so rave reviews do not exactly come pouring out of me without ample merit.
