It's been a crazy ride but Mr. Vinod Mathew at Nova Rehabilitation has been an exceptional physical therapist from the start. He made me get back on my feet and walk again. He is responsible and cautious, yet he challenged me to improve at amazing pace. While I have been referred to several other PTs, I have always returned to Mr. Vinod. He listens to his patients and does everything in his power to get his patients recovered. I recommend him based on my experience as a patient of several phases of surgeries and recoveries.

He treated us very disrespectful and unprofessional. Everything because I asked him to explain the reason for the high amount of copay I was being charged when my medical insurance had confirmed it was a less amount. I asked for the contact information of his billing department and that's when he became hostile, refused to provide it, told me to look for another place to take my daughter to and took my daughter off the schedule for PTs without notifying me. I found out she was off the schedule as I called the office to cancel the appointment one day because my daughter got sick. Vinod Mathew is very arrogant and needs customer service training. His front desk staff and PTs are good though.

PT and OT often were little more than fifteen minutes on a stationary bicycle. No program discernable. Nurses were usually surly and rude. One time I soiled my diaper and the nurse yelled at me to "clean it up yourself" My roommate soiled his diaper and had to wait two and one half hours for cleanup. Call bells often took fifty minutes for a response. I asked to speak to the administrator (Leslie Raffner) to complain and did not see her in two weeks. I've had experience with other PT providers (MedStar, Inova). So my review is by comparison. There were good therapists and trainers in the other PT centers also, of course. But Julia Smith at Restore in Ashburn is exceptional in her attention, expertise, and focus on the patient's needs. I had issues with my back and knees (osteoarthritis) as well as a strained hamstring injury. With the therapy, I managed to reduce the pain, build up strength, and also work on flexibility. Kate at reception is always friendly, helpful, and tries to find slots and fit the patient's time preferences as well as needs to travel or take breaks for other reasons. Unlike some of the other providers, it's not impossible to quickly arrange an appointment to fix an in-person evaluation and agree on a training schedule.

First impression when making my appointment was great. The receptionist was knowledgeable about my…read moreinsurance plan, copay, etc. she was very friendly and really tried hard to find appointments that would accommodate my limited availability and offered to put me on a wait list (without my asking about it.) I went for a few visits but wasn't seeing tremendous improvement. I called to discuss my concerns and really appreciated their honesty, that unless I could also do some back-strengthening exercises at home, coming in wouldn't do much for me. Unfortunately I just don't have an hour a day to dedicate to that right now, but when I do I plan to go back. Since someone else mentioned it, it's true that the staff seems to be a little...chatty, let's call it. I've witnessed them all talking about each other while in for treatment and was also privy to a somewhat explicit conversation at the front desk about her recent date (while trying to pay my copay and schedule an appointment, so it's not like I shouldn't have been there). That stuff doesn't bother me as long as I'm receiving good care, which I feel like I did, at least by my PT's. The only real criticism I could give, is that they needed to cancel a Saturday appointment I had with only 2 hours notice... and they only called my house phone, despite also having my cell phone on file. As we had been out all morning, I never got the message. When canceling same day appointments, they really should use all methods of contact available.
