Price was Great also. I called another repair shop to get a quote and they were going to charge more and couldn't get the part they said for 2 weeks. The state trooper who stopped on the side of the road to see if I was okay recommended them and I definitely would as well!

We barely got pulled off to the side of the road (no shoulder) while pulling our camper and side x sides. I called a couple places and no one nearby could help, called a tow company and they appeared helpful however after an hour we still did not know if or when they would come. One of the places I called advised us to call A 1 Automatics, who was both a tow company and a transmission shop. They were an hour and a half away in Trinidad, Co. By this time we knew it was our torque converter, fly wheel, and hopefully little else. I'm bad with names however I called and believe I spoke with the owner who asked a few questions and was on his way. Friends who had arrived before us came out and got our camper and toys for us, moving them to our campground. A 1 Automatics took the truck to Trinidad , he understood we needed the truck to get us home the following Friday. I canceled the other tow company who said they had someone on the way, however failed to let us know, and interestingly no one saw another tow truck. Transmission work is never cheap however they let us know what needed to be done and what didn't, as well as the cost. They used better quality parts and had us up and running for less money than we thought and by the following Thursday morning. We had absolutely no issues during the 10 hour trip back home. My husband and I truly appreciate these folks getting us in, taking care of us in a timely manner, and at a fair price. If your in the Trinidad Co., area and have trouble these are the guys to call.

Two other mechanics in town didn't have time for us, and when we were loosing hope, we stumbled on Ol' Reliable. They immediately knew it was a bad situation & got our car on the lift. Would you believe Brakes Plus forgot to tighten the lug nuts, you could literally wobble the tire with your hand. I am eternally grateful to Fred for saving our lives. Although busy, he at least took the time to put it on the lift, when the others wouldn't. I highly recommend you give your business to someone who puts people's safety before profit. He has the most comfortable tow truck ever. He said he bought it because so many families get stranded and he wanted enough room for everyone. It has a backseat that holds 5-6 people. The conversation was so good that the trip just flew by. He is a wonderful family man. On top of that my AAA covered everything. I wouldn't hesitate a moment to call him. I just wished he worked in Denver.

Later I was told the car wasn't ready and needed to be vacuumed and an oil change. On Tuesday I was told it wasn't ready, but they were starting on it and it also needed a wheel alignment. But it would be ready on Wednesday by 10:00. On Wednesday I was told it wasn't ready because they were still working on it and it also needed brakes. I wasn't told when it would be ready. A few of the locals told me the Raton has changed for the worst. They go out to eat or to the store and don't recognize anyone. The saddest thing I heard was nobody helps or cares about their neighbors. I'm just a visitor who wanted to see my son while he's at a boys scout camp 30 minutes south. If Lewis does not want $300-500 dollars of business or whatever the charge would have been, that's fine. Next time just say "sorry it's not available". JM is listed as the only rental in town, I guess that's wrong. I do not recommend nor would I do any business with JM.

AAA sent this company for roadside assistance when my vehicle wouldn't start. I'm a single mom on…read morea roadtrip with my 12 year old twins and I don't know anyone in this state. The area we broke down is very sketchy and we've been harassed by unhoused all night. The tech they sent arrived with no tools and apparently no knowledge of automotive- we had power so I didn't think it was the battery- but all he could do was try to charge the battery- of course that didn't work so he gave up. Said they didn't have a tow truck and he would have to ask his boss what she thought.... Apparently she didn't think we were worthy of help because he then left us stranded on the side of the road and drove off. AAA kept the service call open stating- "still trying to decide on the best resolution for your service call" until about midnight when the script changed to "thank you for working with us" which I guess means the call was closed without resolution or so much as a phone call or text. I'm still stranded with my young kids the next day and have no idea how I will get help in this small town. Looks like we will have to leave our Mercedes behind and take the train home. I wish AAA would contract with a more reliable shop- this will end up costing me a ton of extra money time and stress because they couldn't help and didn't follow through to let me know they weren't coming back until after midnight. So much for AAA- because they use these guys- I had to walk to a hotel, pay for an unexpected night, wait until the next morning to find my own tow company and mechanic and wait in the same sketchy. Active area for many hours. I won't get my car back to Albuquerque anytime soon and my kids are pretty traumatized at the experience..

I was driving through Raton Pass alone on a road trip when my car started smoking. I'd just had an…read moreoil change done, and it turned out the shop had failed to reinstall the oil drain plug -- oil was leaking out, and I was stuck and scared, hours from my destination. Every shop I called in Raton said they were booked out for weeks. But then I called Pete at Triple O Auto -- and he didn't hesitate. He listened, understood, and immediately said, "Come here, I'll help you." Pete was not only professional and fast -- he was kind. He found the issue right away, replaced the missing plug, refilled my oil, and had me back on the road. But more than that, as a young woman traveling alone, he made me feel completely safe and cared for. While he worked, he told me about his grandkids, shared a few stories, and just made everything feel normal again in a moment that was anything but. I can't thank him enough.
