Walk in from the front door and you're virtually falling over the bar and into the barmaid's arms, which last night I would've been quite happy to; a beautiful smile and very friendly! I remember this being the first place I tried Guiness Red, on a Monday quiz night, which is still a regular part of the schedule. The snooker was on the moderate sized plasma last night, but I don't think they have sky. Kids are allowed in till 6 and there is a good sized terraced beer garden and parking. Nothing too spectacular or spectacularly bad about this place, I'd rather go here than some of the characterless chain pubs towards the bottom end of the high street. Not a bad selection of beers either.

It was served cold, however, so I asked for it to be warmed which seemed to disturb the cook. Of course pesto+ avocado = amazeballs. My husband's Moroccan burger was a bit spicy and he liked it. I liked the tartar sauce that accompanied the dish. I'm just dinging another star because the food took FOREVER to come. I really thought they were killing the lamb for how long it took. The barman apologised though so my heart softened a little.

I like the different food choices and everything is usually a good portion. The only con is that you need to be careful when ordering with the app, as sometimes a double drink becomes a single. It's best to order at the counter when you can. Toilets are clean. Booking it's easy both on the website and the phone and the staff always ask me if I prefer to book a table outside or inside and give suggestions based on the weather

The pub was really busy... we had trouble getting in through the entrance as there were a lot of people having Christmas drinky poos. I was worried that we wouldn't be able to get a table, but they had a couple, so we lucked out! The menu is seasonal, so what we had may not be on there, but I certainly hope they consider offering the dish I had again. I ordered the seabass with mussels and prawns with a white wine sauce and couscous. Mr. Snarky had one of their specials, the Lamb and Carrot pie. It was quite loud in the place, but it definitely feels cozy... like a place only the locals go to! My dish was really lovely, although the only complaint was that the lovely sauce was only around the side of the plate, so some of the mussels had it, but the fish could have used some of the sauce. The sauce was beautiful! And Mr. Snarky's only complaint was that the pie wasn't a full pie... it was a ramekin of filling with pastry on top. Forget the campaign for real ale, we need the campaign for real pie! We did indulge in dessert... and we were so predictable. Me with the Sticky Toffee Pudding with ice cream and Mr. Snarky with the cheesecake. Although he did ask if the crumble came with custard and because it did not, he chose the cheesecake. You can't have crumble without custard! Anyway, the whole dinner was really lovely and I think we agreed we would be happy to come back again.

Ordering a hamburger from the menu it arrives fifteen minutes later with a grilled sesame seeded bun with melted cheddar cheese over the burger, under the burger lies sweet thai chilli sauce which after the first bite leaves a sweet softness in the sides of the mouth,. The burger is well cooked and comes with chips which are thick, fluffy on the inside and crispy. Overall for value of money for food and service in the quiet afternoon i would go back again.

They was presuming I been drunk! ( definitely not) So , stay away from this pub, if you don't let a tip , you gonna be ignore on the busiest days!
