Partially mumbling about the show and partially mumbling about the venue/experience.) A few things worth noting: I had been here once prior for a seated show but never for a GA one. I'm not really an Everclear fan. Nothing wrong with the music, it just never caught my ear. My daughter is a huge fan so this was totally for her. Part of the GA issue was a non-issue as I forked out for the meet & great package so we were guaranteed to be on the rail as close as you could be. Everything in the email from the 3rd party company that handles the meet & greet stuff was all spot on: Show up at time X. Buy merch if you want before you are let in. You are let in at time X. You are given bag of swag. Band plays a single acoustic song. You line up the 1st time and the band will sign whatever and briefly talk to you about whatever you want. Art loved that I wasn't bringing the kid and that it was more that the kid brought me. You line up the 2nd time for pix with the blast furnaces in the background. This was well all executed. At time Y, the rest of crowd is let in and then you wait an hour until it's time to start except it wasn't really time to start as there was an opening act that no one seemed to know about. The show was the show. When you're that close, the sound is hard to judge. To me, it's all a sludgy mess musically although Art's vocals were, all things considered, excellent. At the end of the show the band came down to the rail and they were talking/selfie taking with everyone there. Art was beyond generous and gave my kid his setlist and a pick. Overall this was good. The staff got everyone in and out easily. Parking was a non-issue as we got there early and parked strategically to get out quickly. Art and the guys are pros-pros who know what they are doing. Another show here? Yep. Why not.

The play (School of Rock) was boring and most of the instruments were little better than toys - sound was obviously controlled from backstage. Even soda and water were overpriced. Needed to have another employee get our waitress so we could pay our bill. No credits, no refunds, so if you can't make the show, you are royally screwed. Would never return here again.

Pines Dinner Theatre is such a fun spot and perfect for a date night or special celebration. I love…read morethe setup -- dinner first, then the first half of the show, dessert, and then the rest of the show. It keeps the night flowing and makes it feel like a full experience. The theatre itself is nice and simple, and I like that you pick your table ahead of time. From the moment we sat down, every staff member greeted us, which was such a nice touch. They walked us through how the night would go, and everything felt super organized. For appetizers, we had mac and cheese and bruschetta -- both solid choices. The mac and cheese was simple but tasty, and the bruschetta was fresh and flavorful. For entrées, we went with the salmon (roasted potatoes & string beans) and the filet mignon (same sides). The salmon was a little overcooked, and I do wish we could have picked our own sides, but it wasn't a dealbreaker. Everything was still good. Dessert was hands down the highlight. The apple crisp and brownie sundae were amazing. And then the show... wow. The acting, the singing, the dancing; all fantastic. They absolutely crushed Footloose! Definitely recommend this place if you want dinner and a show all in one. I'd go again in a heartbeat. 1000000000/10 recommend.

I hadn't been to the Banana Factory for quite a few years. So when I saw it was First Friday open…read morehouse, I decided to visit again. Not much has changed--in a good way. There are still various "gallery" spaces featuring artists of all mediums; you can still visit artists' studios; and there are still wine, refreshments and music. What has changed (and does continuously) are the exhibits. Last night I was captivated by nearly every one. (Except 2022 InVision Juried Exhibition, but only because the DJ was playing the music so loudly that I couldn't wait to get out of there, so I barely glanced at the artwork.) The first exhibit you come across is Leah Frances: Things Were Never Normal. (It is in the hallway leading from the entrance to the largest gallery.) Loving all things nostalgia, this was my favorite. Her images of vintage restaurants, bowling alleys, cars and other businesses, made me want to visit every one, myself. A second exhibit, just outside the Crayola Gallery, is the Voices of Survivors Project. It is a "platform for survivors of human sex trafficking or other forms of violence to express their lived experiences as survivors through photography." With each photo collection are thoughts from the victims. Very powerful. The Isla P Gordon and Ash Kaye - Starter Home exhibit included a talk with the artists. The exhibit is "a visual record of our new life as home-owners as Isla transitions to life as a woman." I expected to see images reflecting the challenges and heartbreaks in such a situation. Instead, I saw love, support and fun. It warmed my heart. I ventured upstairs to the artists' studios and was delighted to find quite a few of them working at their craft and chatting with visitors. I am NOT artistic, so I always find it fascinating to watch artists work. There are more than a few pieces I would love to have displayed in my home if I had the budget for original artwork. But I am considering treating myself for my next birthday. Stay tuned.

This is a place where local artists can be recognized and sell their craft on display. On the second and third floors are the studios where classes are given, where artists can rent out space to work at their craft. There is plenty of parking and no admission fee. Check the local guides to see when classes are given. An interesting venue.
