I know a lot of sellers who will travel to Yuba city or Roseville flea markets to sell and here is why: This weekend "Flea Market" has seen better days. it is one of only two "Flea Markets" in Redding or within 100 ++ miles or so. Jolly Giant pretty much died over a decade ago. The owners are more interested in their leasing parking spaces and warehouse space to trucks and who knows what, and their can and bottle recycling business. A truck "accidentally" crashed and bent the rear gate that allowed access to the rear dock, a long time ago but this gate has been broken for years now. guess they took the insurance money and spent it on other things. beer can baskets, broken bottles all over the place blocking any hope of parking near a selling space on the rear dock. Trucks and can bundles block the entire area. If you plan on coming out here to sell some of your items I would say forget about it. You can't even get to the back dock anymore without having to park some distance and lug everything you want to sell across their lot and then to a table. by the end of a crappy day, who feels like lugging all of your unsold stuff back to your vehicle. After spending $10.00 per table to try and sell your stuff that you could not even give away to the cheap people who spend the day here just looking, you most likely will find out this was not worth your time and labor. Have a garage sale or donate your stuff. Trust me it will make your life a lot less complicated and frustrating plus you will come out money ahead. The dozen or so regular peddlers have the selling spaces on the front dock monopolized and it's the only place where you can actually pull up and unload. The few shoppers who get their socializing for the week, visit this place to catch up their friends on their B.S. of the day and the unwary passers by who see this market from the highway and think it"s a real flea market, find out fast, or already know that the chance of finding the good stuff (not likely) and any new non regular sellers will be out on the rear dock. LOL If you like seeing the same over priced junk from the same ancient sellers week after week, month after month and year after year, then this is the place for you. Shame that flea markets are so big everywhere else but the people who get the permission from the city to even have a flea market couldn't care less. The other market, which I will be doing a review update on, is worse and only active on Sunday. read more

Highly DO NOT reccomend Jolly Giant Flea Market. Found perfect end table on FB Marketplace, asked them to please hold it as I definitely wanted it. They refused to hold it, but did let me arrange a date and time to get it (which I confirmed TWICE). Gregory G. must not have told anyone because they sold it, and didn't tell me! I found out because I confirmed before leaving my house to go buy it!! So unprofessional, and not the right way to treat customers. read more

Don't expect a "hip" swap meet like you find in LA. This is your typical small town flea market. They have some good finds.

My little boy and I stop here once in a while because he wants to see if he can find cool new or old Hot Wheels. He has had luck with both. I have lucked out with used DVDs for $2-3. Not bad. read more

I somewhat recommend visiting here every once in a while, it's just such a far way out from whatever anyone would be doing.... I used to go here with my mom when I was a kid and it was SO fun, there was tons of stuff and always new people along with the original people. Now it's just a bunch of tools and fake Chinese stuff, there's rarely new booths and it's usually the same old guys and women that are just robbing people for their money, in fact the video game booth there is pretty hilarious, I went in there one day checking it out and the guy had a MASSIVE ego and told me that he's the biggest video game seller in California or the west coast or something like that..... like dude you're in the jolly giant and I couldn't imagine he pays more than $500 a month for his little wooden shack in this old broken down building. Anyways this place is somewhat interesting to visit if you haven't been here in years, but it's sad compared to what it used to be. Lots of overpriced stuff as well. read more

Every once and a while you come across a place that is really special and the Jolly Giant Flea Market is one of those places. Loaded with bargains and friendly people to boot. Before Criagslist and EBay there was the Jolly Giant, and it is still going strong today. read more

If you are looking for items that were stolen from just try jolly giant flea market, seven out of ten times you will find it there. The admission charge is $ 1.00 for anyone over the age of 13. It's really bad smell due to all the crushed Cans and plastics. The bathrooms are REALLY GROSS, NEVER CLEANED PROPERLY (CAUTION)!!! I'll be honest, I think I'm a bit jaded from to many episodes of "Storage Wars" and antiques roadshow. This place was a disappointment to say the least. The best way to describe this place would be "picked over". The only items there seemed to be table after table of grubby nic-naks broken up periodically by display cases of cheap jewelry, bongs, and air-soft guns. I want my $1 back. :/ read more

It's a flea market, so it's all hit or miss! Just be wary of any "name-brand" makeup products here. A lot of counterfeits. They're usually fake and may contain lead or other harmful chemicals. Do your research before buying any "authentic" stuff from here. read more

This place is only getting better with age. The selection of antiquities is ever changing as the years go by, and sure there's a motley crew of riff raff selling goods but don't forget where you are!! You can recycle cans and buy a beer while waiting for your breakfast burritos that give most taco trucks a run for there money all while not dropping Bo Jacksons rookie card you just copped from Alfonso for 2$ at the same booth that sold your lady a pair of slightly used apple bottoms for 6bucks. I try and drop in every so often to see what's good and usually it's something. read more
