In the review, I tried to explain the circumstances surrounding my experience. The lack of communication continued for a period of over four months, not merely a few weeks time. But I also hope that it was clear that I thoroughly enjoyed my photo session with her, and I think the end-product satisfied my expectations. Review sites like this provide a snap-shot of people's experiences over time so that consumers can make educated decisions about their purchases. In so doing, they can balance the excellent reviews against those which may be more critical. I in no way mean to tarnish Maria's reputation, she is an excellent photographer. But I hope that by providing honest feedback, she can tailor her future services and future customers can have all of the facts in front of them when they choose to use her services.

I originally chose her because I liked the lighting in her photos and her ability to capture natural poses and shots, and then her reasonable prices (I mean by far more reasonable than any other wedding photographer I found) sealed the deal. I was initially apprehensive about our engagements, as my then-fiance isn't all that photogenic in that he has a hard time relaxing in front of the camera. Our photos turned out amazing, and I got so excited for Jessica to do our wedding! She was a great sport and drove all the way to College Station so we could do the shoot at my fiance's fire station. I loved how she would tell us what to do and where to look so we never felt awkward, and yet everything looked so natural. My fiance loved her as much as I did and looks completely at ease in all his photos. My bridals were equally beautiful, and the wedding day was a dream. I have to mention that the icing on the cake is Jessica's great attitude and personality. Even in the midst of fidgety or missing family members she was smiley and upbeat. She is so encouraging and excited about the shots she's taking that it's infectious. After we agreed on a date and…read moretime to take engagement photos, I received a text message an hour and half before our appointment that she would not be able to make it due to family issues. Considering that I had taken the day off work and had to wake up pretty early since I was doing my own hair and makeup, I was pretty upset about having to push back the photos till later in the day. Ms. Tagle suggested we arrange to try to meet at 4 or 5 in the afternoon. It's SXSW weekend and getting hotter and hotter as the day progresses and she wants to meet downtown during the worst time possible, seriously?!? It didn't help matters that my fiancé had specifically taken the morning off and had to go into work at the time she wanted to reschedule. Thanks to modern technology, I found out through facebook Ms. Tagle had spent the night before at SXSW till early in the morning and had the audacity to post status updates on her whereabouts. In others words, she lied to me on why she wasn't able to make our appointment. I immediately canceled our appointment and requested she refund my deposit. Photographers are a dime a dozen in this town and Ms. Tagle caused me a lot of stress and unneeded anxiety during an already stressful time. They seemed pushy, or demanding. I was concerned that my guests would feel bossed around and that these photographers would suck the fun out of the party. But Katherine and her husband were wonderful! We met with her in her sweet studio, and she let us peruse all of her recent work (which you should also check out at her website and blog) and album options. Her prices are so reasonable and she is an artist. Most importantly, though she is a pleasure to be around and will enhance your wedding. We LOVE the hundreds of gorgeous images (digital: Color, B&W, Toy camera) and it was so hard to narrow it down to an album. Many of my more discriminating friends have told me that our wedding photos are the best made wedding photos they've ever seen. Check her out. She's an artist. Our engagement photos turned out great! Katherine was very flexible on when and where to do them. We decided to have some taken at our home, and some in the park by the 360 bridge.
