My first sale was not a huge success. I arrived at around 4pm on the first day to find that although it was quiet there was very little left. With this in mind I would recommend trying to get there as early as possible. This time I was queueing outside from 20 minutes before the doors opened. Once inside everything is well signposted. I headed straight for Mini Boden, which is my absolute favourite range of clothing for children. The clothes were separated into tubs on long tables, one table for each size. Again, everything was well signposted, and there were price lists under the sign. It was a case of rummaging around because there was so much in each box. Although it was busy, and the other customers were frantically working their way through the boxes, everyone was civilised and no fights broke out (something that people had joked about when I told them I was going along!) The stock was mostly Summer clothes - a lot I recognised from the sale, but there were also a few things from previous seasons. There was also a row of cardboard boxes, containing factory seconds. The prices were a bit hit and miss - I got a perfectly good pair of basketball boots for £5 (normally £26) but some of the shorts, priced at £9 regardless of style and quality, were actually as expensive as they are at full price. I would recommend Boden Clearance sales to anyone that likes their clothing. It's well organised, queues move quickly and the staff are very friendly and helpful. It's worth nothing that it's not possible to get a refund on any sale items unless they are faulty. You have to exchange items that you just don't like for whatever reason. You can't do this by mail order - you have to go back to the sale. My top tips would be: arrive early, make sure to look properly in every box on the table as things do get mixed up and amazing bargains are often lurking out of sight, and take lots of money!

Branded products from the likes of Disney and Nickelodeon are on sale at attractive prices, the store offers a wide range of sizes and styles and the people that work here all seem to be friendly child-lovers who know exactly what they're talking about if ever you ask their advice. I took my 6 year-old cousin here recently and both of us were very impressed. She was instantly besotted with the store's diverse range of princess-style Disney dresses and cartoon-inspired clothes and I ended up spending much more than anticipated on her belated birthday presents! I'd definitely visit again in the future.

I go to the shop in Westbury Village, and love all the gorgeous clothes and toys there. The price range is varied- you can pick a lovely gift up for 50p or £50 so there's something to suit everyone. They also have very knowledgable staff in both shops and they are always on hand for ideas if I need them. There are always lots of toys out for little ones to play with and they are breast-feeding friendly too! They sell lots of well known children's clothes brands such as Frugi, Kite, Pigeon, Hately, Joules and Blade & Rose, I have bought lots of gorgeous dresses for my daughter and everyone asks where they're from and comments on how lovely they are. Really difficult to pay! A frustrating visit, one of the…read moreitems we tried to pay for was price marked lower than the price it scanned at. Very few staff members around to help with problems. We scanned our items at the self service then had to wait for the one advisor to finish serving an elderly lady who needed full attention to pay for her items. Once the staff member was available to us, she was unable to adjust the price so we had to queue for a 3rd time at the refund point where the advisor had a long queue of other frustrated customers. I think your regular M&S customer expects as a bare minimum to have staff members available to process your sale.

It's not a bad-sized store, and there was a really good selection of ladieswear. Everyone knows M&SI don't need to tell you what they sell! Decent sale items when I was there though, I love January! Didn't use the cafe but it looked pleasant enough, located upstairs but there are lifts so you don't have to battle with the escalators and your buggy. Nothing to set the earth alight, but a good solid traditional store.

But they're here now, much to the delight of parents everywhere. Fred and Grace's offers exquisite designer clothing for children under the age of 10, as well as accessories for a range of seasons. Nestled in the Morgan Arcade, it's not as easy to get to as your larger emporium type stores, but if you're in the market for high-quality kids' clothes, definitely stop by here. It beats fighting the crowds at Mothercare on a Saturday!

I've found some real bargains here: prices are often cheaper than in London charity shops. For instance on a recent trip I spotted ginger jars for £2.50 each. They also have some lovely carved wooden first-hand stuff. Kids mini jigsaws and money boxes with little carved animals on them. Lovely and very reasonably priced. In the back they have a book nook. It has to be described that way: nice neat shelves and a central padded bench were you can sit and read if you wish. The staff are friendly, and I defy anyone not to find something of interest.
