Tonight Doc got us reservations for a Speakeasy Mystery Crawl in Nashville. The COLD night air confirmed I better buy a black coat to match the new black dress since they have a dress code. Thankfully I found a bedazzled light weight black coat for $30, bling earrings and a ring to get into the mood for this evening's 7:30 pm event. This shop did not have that musty smell like Goodwill or Savers. We'd shop for music or Big Sky bears ages ago but not clothes. I think watching Twilight Zone in my school age years gave me the Willie's of wearing someone else's clothes. Hub's aunty even told them she had nightmares with her own mom's clothes when she passed. Hopefully the one sage bundle i saw in the shop will be cleansing enough with my purchases. Hubs stayed in the car with Grandpup and Doc decided to go next door and treated us to coffee. When I dared to ask if I can try the dress on, they both quickly and sullenly let me know that that dress could not be bought on store credit. Cool, I can read. I merely wanted to try it on, and wasn't going to demand they let me use store credit. I have wracked my brain to every instance I have been in this store, to try to figure out why these two treat me like the garbage on their shoes. These two women had been super icy to me in the past - yes, I have been a customer there more than once - but today was the worst. Not only were they so icy today, it was almost hostile, the difference between the way they treated me, and the way they nicely interacted with both the woman who was checking out when I got there, and the woman who was shopping when I was checking out was glaring. You can keep your rip off level store credit - I will not be returning to your shop. You are not the only plus sized resale game in town. Surely, some others will be at least professional and kind. I do NOT recommend this store to anyone, the mean girls running it do not deserve your business. Fellow plus sized ladies, do yourselves a favor and look elswhere. This place does not disappoint! There was a great selection of lots of different types of clothing, from formal dresses to workout sets to outerwear. There were brands I knew, like Eloquii, Ava & Viv, and Torrid, plus some I didn't know yet. My greatest surprise and delight happened in the fitting rooms, which are both equipped with fans!! This is clearly a space imagined by fat people for fat people (if you know, you know). I can't wait to see how the collection of clothing evolves once they start buying from the community next week. Even though the location is a little bit out of the way for me, this will definitely be a regular stop because it fills a niche that literally didn't exist in Nashville. Some other standouts included Pretty Pretty Pop Pop with their custom facial sets ($7) that the staff concoct for you based off your skin's needs. I am also a fan of the bath bomb ($7) and various hair serums and lotions. This is a perfect place to pick up goodies for yourself and for gifts! Baxter Bailey and Company is a beautiful little shop dedicated to all things pup. I picked up a whimsical little sweater with antlers for my pup and was also tempted by the wonderful assortment of collars, harnesses, carriers, and so much more. My pups are going to be more spoiled than they already are.... is that even possible? State adds a beautifully curated collection of accessories, apparel, and jewelry for both the m'ams and misters. I am smitten over a little necklace with a fork charm ($35) and hope that it's stuffed in my stocking! High Garden Herbs & Tea, 1907 Apparel, Thrive, Wildernest, and Red Dog Beads all rounded out the lineup. Can't wait to pick up holiday gifts from here!

Food wise, Maru and East Creamery are always on point and hit the spot! Hours of each shop differ, so make sure you look specifically at the hours of the places you want to visit. There is no real consistency amongst the shops from an overall hours perspective, which can be a tad frustrating. Parking is a bit wonky as well, nothing really dedicated at all times. There are a few pay lots nearby and street parking is plentiful in the area. Overall, Shoppes on Fatherland is a cool East community and is a good spot to spend a little time when you have nothing going on. It's always an after or before dinner/drink place for us.

The other top I bought for $60 has shrunk after one wash and no longer fits. So many items are way too cropped or transparent. I think the quality here has gone way down. I also purchased a denim skirt with shorts under thinking the shorts would help with the length of the skirt. Because of the return policy, I don't have the option to dispute the transaction from my credit card since I've had to use store credit.
