As a fairly new runner, I have quickly grown to appreciate Fleet Feet around Nashville, this Green Hills location included! My latest trip to this Fleet Feet was purely to get a new scan of my feet so I could buy the appropriate insoles for my running shoes. Upon entry, William quickly greeted me and off to the races we went. First we got the scan, then we tried on several inserts, along with him teaching me the best way to "ankle lock" by tying my shoes a better way. We chatted through the best options for shoes, arch support, gear, etc...William is good people! While I initially came by for a quick scan and possibly some insoles, I ended up leaving with insoles and a new pair of shoes...and I wasn't mad about it! The BEST running store I've been to in a long time- what a great experience!! This was my first time at a Fleet Feet (I just moved to TN), and I felt taken care of from the time I parked to the time I got back in my car. Upon arrival, a staff member will speak with you about your wants and needs, and what your running habits and styles are. They will observe you, how you stand/sit, and how you walk, without you even realizing it. Next, you stand on a machine and that does a "foot scan". This technology is able to measure your size, arch height, ball width, and heel width. They will bring you out several different brands, sizes, and insoles, and watch you walk and run in them, to find out what best fits YOU. I like that they combine their technology with their own personal knowledge (are not just reliant on one or the other to find you a shoe). VERY knowledgeable and friendly staff. Bought 2 pairs of shoes with insoles that I really feel help me both walk and run. They're both functional, and comfortable. 3.5 stars. I love Fleet Feet, don't get me wrong. They are my one and only stop for everything running related, but my last visit to the Hillsboro location reminded me of why I always go to the Brentwood location. Parking is a nightmare in Green Hills, no mater how big the lot. This store is much smaller physically so while they still carry all the great brands they don't have as much selection. The customer service is what gets the stars deducted for me though... just not good, especially in comparison to Brentwood where they deserve 6 out of 5 stars. I didn't get a hello walking in. No one offered to help. Again, they carry the best brands and everything is top quality! But I will continue to choose other locations. read more

Absolutely fantastic experience. I was initially a little intimidated because I've only ever purchased shoes at big box stores but after experiencing discomfort from running (unrelated to the fact I was actually running) a friend recommended getting a fitting. Alex did a phenomenal job analyzing my foot structure and gait and then using that to teach me what type of shoes would work best for me. And, probably the biggest deal for me, he didn't rush me even though they had a line going and we were finishing up my purchase almost an hour after closing. Still encouraged me to try different shoes and insole combinations until I had the perfect fit. They also have a great 60 day return policy even if you actually go running (aka walking with purpose) in the shoes which shouldn't be a surprise but it is. They also have a rewards program. Rapper "Jelly Roll" took his 71 year old mother into the store a couple days ago and a young employee refused to help his mother, instead went on to serve a young customer that walked in after her. How disrespectful! I hope this store is taking action against this employee and gets some kind of training in place for the employees and managers so this doesn't happen to anyone else!! Thank God he was there with her to be her voice and has a platform to inform people so changes are made. Alot of elderly people don't have anyone and would continue to be treated with disrespect at this business if not for Jelly bringing to light what is going on in this store and what is obviously being tolerated. Great selection of running shoes as well as gear. The employees have always been very helpful and knowledgeable. They can take a look at your feet, your walk, run and tell you which shoes will be the best support for you specifically for what you are looking to accomplish. I have also got inserts from them (suggested from a podiatrist) and they have helped me tremendously. Although their focus is shoes (obviously), they have some clothing as well as other goodies. I am loving my new "New Balance" running shoes from Fleet Feet! Johnathan was my shoe expert and he was super knowledgeable and helpful. He made me feel so comfortable, like I'd know him forever. Love love love. I work on my feet for 10+ hours every night and the staff was extremely helpful in getting me the right shoes and insoles. The fitting is cool because you can see a 3D image of your foot and it shows exactly what you need. I'm recommending this store to everyone I work with.
