But he answered the phone when I called and went out of his way to help me jump the battery of my car in the rain without asking for any monetary payment. I was in Benson seeing patients (Home Health) today when my car's battery died. Unfortunately, my patient did not have a car and did not have a jumper. The closest neighbors several yards away. It was also raining hard, thus I could not walk to the nearest neighbor. So, I googled towing and car services in the area and called a few towing company, but all of them said they could get to me after an hour or more. I then called Carlyle's Transmission Services and spoke with a man who said he does not offer "jumping cars", but that he will come to me. In less than 10minutes, he arrived and had my car battery running in no time. After that, I asked him how much do I owe him, but he said "Don't worry about it."... Yes, it may not take time to jump a car, BUT it was raining and I was a stranger stuck several miles away from his place of business. He went out of his way to help a stranger. I am forever grateful! and if I have a need for any transmission services, I will most definitely go to Carlyle's even if it is a few towns over. I was a stranger, not a customer, and Shane provided top notch service; how much more when I am a paying customer?

I called them because of the great review(I think some are from when Sue was across the street). Phone convo was great and I took my truck there. They installed my Trans(let's say Lance put it in and that was that). Picked up my truck drove home. I opened the hood to find my Trans lines cut, dangling around and leaking Trans fluid all over the place. Installation was mediocre at best. My trans cooler was held on by the smallest loose Zip ties. About two extra feet of hose on both sides hanging and clamps on Trans line... NO FLARE. Trans leaking at the yoke..... fast forward to two weeks ago. Brought my truck in 9-08-2026 for the leak that was there when they installed it. They said it was dry and no leak. I begged them to look inside the Tail Shaft housing to see if there was a messed up Yoke Seal.... That's when they threw the "we're the experts" line and we got into an argument. They charged me $375 for warranty work and they NEVER checked the Yoke seal like I asked 9-11-2026. I was P-d off so Monday, 9-14-2026, I called the Trans company and told them my situation.... And what do you know... The Trans Manufacturer told me that MY Transmission is missing...the YOKE SEAL that the S&L Tech knew nothing about, and didn't check like I asked. Trans company sent out the part that I needed and Trans fluid, got it Wednesday 9-16-2026. Trans Company also said take it to a BETTER, CERTIFIED Trans shop. In MY experience it was Shade Tree with a shop. You would get better results going to your local High School shop class. I know there will be a rebuttal.... but I have Receipts...Yes Receipts, Pictures, Videos, Emails some recorded phone convos and a messed up oil stained Driveway that yall can come look at in real time.... today is 9-20-2026...... Avoid this place.

I made an emergency stop at a random auto shop to figure out what exactly was wrong. Once I figured out what the problem was and came back to Durham, I started calling multiple mechanics in the area to fix my AC. I received quotes on replacing condenser & dryer and evaporator expansion valve anywhere from $900 - $2000. After considering my finances and online reviews, I decided to go with Quality Auto Service. Not because they were on the cheaper side of the quote. It was because they were the only auto shop who told me and warned me that condenser and dryer come together and make sure no one tries to overcharge me on the two items. They were incredibly honest and did such a wonderful job on my car. To this day, my AC runs fantastic! Couple weeks ago, I had an airbag alarm came up on my car which eventually went out. Based on my mom's recommendation, I took my car to a dealership service center where they charged me $100 to diagnose and quoted me $2100 to fix my seatbelt / airbag sensors saying all 4 sensors in my car need to be replaced in order to fix the airbag alarm issue. It's not surprising I left the shop without fixing anything there... I returned to Quality Auto Service to see if they can give me a second opinion. They checked out my car with free of charge and told me that although there was a history of airbag alarm coming on, there is no issues with my airbag system, the weight sensors in my car work just fine, and I do not need to "fix" anything on my airbag system. I am so glad I found these guys - They are so honest and tell me exactly what I need to fix instead of trying to sell me unnecessary services. I will continue to come back for any car issues. I strongly recommend you give them a call to make an appointment for waiting or dropping off because they get booked up all the time!
