Looked at receipt - charged full-price on sale item. Went back in. Checkout person had changed to the unfriendly lady from the popcorn. First we got another check out person, then a man came in to "help" us but he walked out the door?? Next a manager came up and asked where the man helping us went - and I told him he walked out the door - maybe quit? Ha. Then that popcorn girl started our refund request on coffee that was marked $13.99 but rang up $15.99. The manager returned and I walked over to show the sign and sale. He looked and said the sale was over . I said the sign was up and it says $13.99 (in huge numbers). Nope. He reaffirmed it was $15.99 though the sign said $13.99. He was not friendly. No apology for the sign being up etc. So I asked for a return/refund. Back to the unfriendly pop corn lady. Meanwhile, this whole time, the man in line behind me stood waiting. HIs order was originally run up in the middle of mine. This is not the first time we have tried this store and not the 3rd time it ruined my day. Except for the young man who was sweet (who left - removed tray in cash register to change out for the popcorn lady) - the rest were all unfriendly/rude. A Friendly Atwoods is Derby. The customer had bought a piece of jewelry worth over $5,000 and it didn't fit the person who was to wear it, as it was too small to go around. They brought it in within a few days time to see if it could be exchanged for something that did fit the person. The owner let them know in no uncertain terms that they could not exchange or return it and suggested they gift it to someone else who it would fit (a $5,000 plus fine jewelry gift!) The owner told them they shouldn't have bought the item in the first place (instead of thanking them for shopping with them). It was honestly shocking to me that they were unwilling to find a piece that would fit the person instead. I left the store with a bad taste in my mouth and have no desire to go back to what used to be my favorite store. Just so disappointed and shocked by the experience.
