The crown eventually had worn a hole through it, and a cavity had developed. The doctor did the cavity repairs, and installed a new crown. That was several months ago. I had complained about the pain over the next few days. I began wondering at that point as to whether the doctor should have done a root canal. The doctor sent me to another doctor that "evaluated" it, and decided a root canal was not necessary at this time. I am on Social Security, and that second opinion cost me over $300 out-of-pocket. So now I have to find another dentist to fix this problem.

I ended up having two teeth pulled, one was a wisdom tooth. I had such intense nerve pain and still experience nerve pain when I yawn which had nothing to do with my incision sites. I was not treated well and had to seek other medical attention from another doctor for the intense paralyzed feeling in my jaw. I believe that he did quite a bit of nerve damage for an extraction that was NOT necessary. I was sketched out by the way they do not fully explain how much procedures cost and how insurance covered. I don't think that Botox should be used by a dentist to treat headaches, but that was offered to me. I don't like hearing that my sons braces will cost this much but a friend was offered a steep discount because he's just starting to provide the options of braces. A pretty facade is all this place is and I just paid the bill to match it.

It was a herculean task to get him to communicate with the other professionals he referred me to. He delayed my treatment and wouldn't even say hello, whenever he had to interact with me (which were rare occasions). I assumed that he didn't realize the difficulty of the case, and knew he was probably not capable of doing the job. He could have just said so, instead of treating me in such an unethical, inhumane and humiliating fashion at the most vulnerable time in my life. His assistant probably noticed and attempted to make up for his rude and unprofessional behavior, and that was very appreciated (she is a sweetheart.) His hygienists are amazing and I am so thankful for them. Do us all a favor and retire, Dr. Margeas! You ARE NOT God's gift to dentistry, as you think you are. I am not complaining about this bill - okay, I got the service so I would pay them, even though neither I was told at that time of service. But with concerning about too much dental cost I paid this year for my children, I asked them for a pre-estimation for one of my kids upcoming treatment so I can better know how much I would pay for the service. The receptionist refused to submit any pre-estimation because she doesn't know what exactly my daughter would get for her next appointment. Well, she had an appointment in two weeks and they better know what kind of service they would provide with. I worked at an insurance company before, and majority of dental offices submit pre-estimation for themselves and customers for better idea how much would be paid by insurance and would be patient's responsibility. It is a simple paper work any dental provider can provide to their customer because they know the service codes and their service fees that we don't know in advance. She finally said I may pay around $400 if my insurance doesn't pay any, and I need figure it out my responsibility on my own. I asked them to cancel my upcoming appointment, she said "Okay, perfect!"
