I had called my family doctor's office near Greenwood to see if I could schedule an appointment with the doctor, but when told she was on vacation until the next week, I was referred to this location as an alternative to waiting for my doctor to return to practice. The office even went ahead and secured a visit time the next morning for me to get my congested sinus problem looked at. Located just west of the hospital in Franklin in the Professsionals building which is clearly marked with the address to identify it as being separate from the hospital, my wife dropped me off at the entrance and I was cleared through Covid protocols and soon headed back to the check in location. I identified myself and was asked to wait for just a few minutes. I was pleased that the Dr I was told who would be helping me greeted me and I was taken back to a room. Because it was quickly determined that I was basically having sinus problems and some hearing loss due to allergies, no infection was detected, one of the assistant staff walked me through using an ear cleaning procedure (Just to eliminate any possible contributors to the hearing loss) which helped. I was also told how to use inhalers properly (not like I had been taught as a kid) and given notice that I would have some prescriptions at my local pharmacy to pick up to manage my reactions to the allergies. I was in and out in a very timely manner. The prescriptions were already called in and were being filled by the time I got back to my local pharmacy. Everyone I dealt with was upbeat and helpful. I wish all clinic and hospital visits were this efficient. One of the best if not THE best check in and processing I've experienced. Despite the troubles that many places are having during the pandemic, FP of JC is a beacon of how things should work. I am already noticing improvements after just one day. No problems using the tools they suggested for ear and sinus maintenance and I got a great night's sleep. I have a follow up scheduled in 2 weeks just to be sure there are no problems lingering and no signs of infection as well. I appreciate their working to fit me into their schedule on such a short notice for something that probably wasn't critical in nature. Thanks to all the folks who helped me. However, she doesn't have insurance which is probably why the ER nurse was so rude, dismissive and beyond unprofessional. And I won't call you out by name because you know who you are and it starts with either a "C" or a "K" and rhymes with Lassie. Rude beyond belief and actually evil. I mean it was like I was waiting for someone to jump out with a camera and say "Just kidding! You've been punked". Anyway, while they were very tentative and professional for her inpatient stay and offered her resources and post visit instructions, they went ahead and released her even though she was still short of breath and very weak. They had treated her with potassium due to it being low. She asked prior to them having her sign release forms if they were going to recheck her sodium and potassium before releasing her. They said there should have been a reflex order for potassium check each time they gave her potassium. But there was not and no one had ever rechecked it and that was the reason she came there and that is the reason she was having cardiac issues, weakness, blurred vision and shortness of breath. So only because she pointed it out and had to babysit their care which is what we are finding in Healthcare everywhere you go now, they rechecked it. So despite her continued clinical symptoms of weakness, air hunger and feeling very ill, they released her anyway. We know it is because she does not have insurance as stated to her a few times during the stay they did not want to dig too deep with tests and lab work because she doesn't have insurance. And furthermore, when we came the first time to ER, we had to return two days later and wouldn't have needed to had they accounted for the fact that she was dehydrated which would give a false normal on potassium and make it look higher in labs than it actually is and they for some reason did not account for that in their assessment. So first time potassium is looking normal but actually is low and they proceeded to give her meds that actually lower potassium and then sent her home. Nor did they tell her to follow up on that. So when we went back two days later because she felt 6 feet from the grave, her potassium actually showed as low in bloodwork this time and so she was sick enough they admitted her as inpatient. Then they booted her out when still feeling bad. What is the thinking on this because I know ya'll it's nothing but a giant business and we're just a number, but if you had any common sense you'd say to yourself "In the long run we will save money if we just get this one well before releasing them, otherwise it'll just be multiple ER visits and inpatient stays". Perhaps your actual thoughts are "we will kick them out when they feel like death is knocking at the door and hope they go elsewhere next time". Either way it is messed up. She has three children at home, one of whom is special needs and a full lift to transfer from chair to bed to vehicle etc. Three people depending on her health to care for them. But that's okay because the local hospital is fillin' pockets with no cares in the world. Open your eyes people. Healthcare is like a fence now and there is a fine line in deciding, do we go there or not, because you could end up worse off than when you went in. We need to heavily weigh if we really truly need to walk in there and risk our life. It's a gamble when you go in there and a guessing game. Don't ever let a loved one go without someone there to advocate for them. Don't let them go alone and be their voice. And anymore it doesn't matter where you go. It all depends on who you get, their mood, what kind of day they are having, and are they competent and compassionate or not. Because they are just about all the same anymore and just have to cross your fingers when you walk in and say a little prayer you get some good people. But overall healthcare is a very broken system and next time we need medical attention we will try our luck at Fransican, IU health or anywhere but Community Health. And to nurse "Lassie", you really should at least try to pretend that you care and stop your power tripping because one day you will likely find yourself on the other side as a helpless patient and you better hope you don't get someone like you taking care of you. And by the way I find it ironic that when you called your charge nurse in to have someone to raise your voice at me in front of to make you feel big, she said NOTHING and looked EMBARASSED for us. And she started attending to my daughter who you made tear up. It would actually be funny if it wasn't such a delicate and serious situation. And you have no idea what that young lady has been through. You do not know her story and I guarantee she is worthy of good care despite that she has no insurance and despite your judgment of her.

The staff was nice and took good care of me. They were pretty relaxed and were able to come up with a solution that stopped the bleeding without needing stitches or surgery. One thing that I really appreciated was that she did an ultrasound prior to placement to make sure the sizing is right as a nulliparous female (not many offices do that!) Yearlies are a breeze- their office always makes notes of not only medical concerns but also just your social life in general so that when you visit in 12 months they can actually remember details about you! I love Dr.Davidson's bedside manner, though it is rather quirky/loud/friendly she makes it very easy to feel comfortable. Now the Cons: There is alllways a long wait at her office. This is an independent practice where the medical staff is focused on you, the patient, rather than bureaucracy. I've had several in office procedures which Dr. Davidson might have done in another facility but kindly opted to perform in office to be conscious of my budget and health care coverage at the time. These procedures have always gone very well, I felt well supported during my aftercare and all issues were thoroughly explained throughout my care. Dr. Davidson and her staff take impressively extensive notes at each visit and clearly review them before you return so that they are able to ask relevant questions about your life, family, career, etc. I've read other reviews regarding the front desk staff being curt - this has never been an issue for me. I hopefully say that I see my own attitude reflected in the service I receive from Ms M but whether or not this is the case, I have always received kind, empathetic and good humored care throughout this office. It's patient care worth waiting for, without question.
