I'm nervous, we just hired this law group and the reviews I'm seeing are already happening - they have gone through our retainer without filing one motion yet. Lots of nickel and diming on the first invoice I just received today with their billing us for talking, "consulting" amongst themselves. We are probably screwed but we need some motions filed before I start looking for another firm - - that takes more weeks to get a new firm caught up on a high conflict case that my husband is involved in with his child custody. Ended up wasting 4 times more money than I had planned to because of so much back and forth with the other lawyer for our prenup. At least the other lawyer had a cap of how much they would charge before cutting it off. Spent over $10,000 on just my lawyer, while the other lawyer my wife had ended up costing less than $3,000 after everything was done. Incredibly bad practice to not advise to end things after a while. read more

READ ALL REVIEWS across multiple locations before using this Law Firm. they have locations in: Colorado Springs Commerce City Denver Fort Collins Englewood I was represented remotely by no specific location and paid over $70k for them to make serious errors, fail to advise me on important processes that would have accomplished what I needed and in the end do more harm than good. I would have been better off self representing myself. I made the error of sticking with them because I was afraid to spend thousands more to start over with another firm, in the end this cost me way more (monetarily and with the damages they did to my case) than I would have ever spent if I had moved to a good firm. I actually was convinced for a long time I was being scammed, that is how bad this firm was...regrettably I found they are a legit law firm. Do yourself a favor and ignore the marketing of any law firm you choose and instead find one with solid reviews and a good reputation. I worked briefly with Johnson Law Group for a family law matter and was disappointed with my experience. While communication was polite, I did not feel that my case was handled efficiently or with the attention I expected for the fees charged. I had concerns about billing accuracy, including charges that didn't seem to align with what I was told directly by the attorney. When I raised these concerns, I didn't feel they were fully addressed. They charged me an insane amount of money for literally doing nothing and things that I was specifically told hadn't been done yet, I was charged for. I ultimately chose to retain another firm and felt more confident moving forward elsewhere. I hope this feedback helps others make an informed decision. read more

Zero stars. Calling Johnson Family Law was a huge set-back. Every decision my team made was to serve themselves. They blew through my expressed budget in less than a week before a single form was submitted to the court. The whole case could have been solved with one piece of paper, but the attorney and paralegal went full-monty at my expense. I had a custody case and was represented by this law firm, dealing with the lawyer was more stressful than dealing with the other paren. they was more focused on billing than actually representing my case . I was to court and the other parent asked if they was my lawyer or theirs, that's how badly they were representing me. I ended up getting no parenting time and my lawyer was saying he never saw that before . as if I was the legal expert. they don't answer questions. they just bill bill bill . read more

I called asking for services, rates, fees, etc. Items were listed, then a very pushy suggestion to sign up. Shared a second phone call to arrange for my confirmation of funds, asking for a late afternoon call back. The individual, Corey Cruz, who called me soon after noon, by way of apology, told me he had some free minutes to follow up, but when asked for an explanation about why he called early, simply repeated his reasoning. When quoted for a specific attorney whose fees fit my financial situation, I was immediately told that I would be set up with a more expensive attorney. I requested the original attorney, and was told that it would work out when I gave a day I would have funds available, only to have the more expensive attorney assigned to me again. This Mr. Cruz then went on to explain how the firm has rotating assignment, which I understand, but then after I asked with whom I would work, he made a statement that I would be assigned the more expensive one, then claiming the statement was going to be part of a conversation as to why the more inexpensive one wasn't available. Not really people willing to work for you, with you, just quick to seal a deal for payment. Claim to just be in a rush to help, but are quick to establish that immediate retainer fee without explanation of other fees and charges, nor what the extent of billing will become. Don't trust a law firm that eager to get your payment without consideration for the client. read more

Unprofessional. From the get go something was wrong. I was quoted $225 an hour and they were $250 an hour. OK no big deal. $25 an hour is a lot of money but OK. Every hour that they spend on your case, you have to add that amount to your retainer as well as pay that fee monthly. Also not explained until I paid the retainer. My ex sent me a letter in great detail offering a proposal to split the debt instead of fight over it. I made a simple email inquiry and they dropped me as a client because they weren't going to need to be going into a long and drawn out court process into the tens of thousands of dollars. Let me tell you the fees. They took a $50 for taking a $2500 deposit. $150 to tell me they are dropping me as a client. Total charges so far?$387 "One time setup fee" which I was also never told about. $395. $50 to wire my money back to me. Total charge for absolutely zero help and one 20 minute phone call with a lawyer? $807.49 I would look elsewhere. read more

I paid nearly $18,000 and never saw an attorney once. I was promised a low cost divorce because it was uncontested for the most part. I felt pressured by my attorney to be overly aggressive with my former spouse which I regret so very much. My attorney with the firm quit halfway through. They appointed a new attorney with no discussion who did not know my case. I paid for many repetitive conversations because the attorneys could not keep my goals straight. I used this firm and only got through to a temporary order. I finished my divorce out on my own including the negotiating. The firm did not help or guide me at all in decision making or planning. My spouse paid $2000 for a local attorney in total. Do not use this company. The only thing they stay on top of is billing you. They only take your money. They were to represent me in a Divorce proceeding. Anne Hines was my attorney, and she absolutely ridiculous. I am not going to write a 4-page review I will just highlight key Facts! My husband never provided all of his financial information while this firm represented me. My husband's attorney sent 1 1/2 page email demanding this or that which I had to pay for (they charge for everything) She attempted to go into a settlement without knowing his assets because he would never provide his financials. He stops paying for his car, mortgage and all other household bills, then he changed the locks and locked me out of the home I am paying for and my attorney did nothing!! I kept begging her to help me, giving her praise hoping she would step up to the plate, but she did not! I paid over $20k for emails and to be displaced and harassed by my husband and his attorney. I went to another firm and this nightmare is almost over. I asked for $6000 back and went line by line to identify which items should be refunded, they sent another bill. read more

I left a message on their website and a customer service representative responded and did an online intake. He assured me that someone from their law office would contact me shortly. This was last Saturday and it is now Wednesday evening and no one has bothered to contact me. This was an urgent legal matter and I would have been a paying client. Where do I start with Johnson Law Group. From the start, JLG had given information wrong, birthdays, names, etc. They served the defendant with the incorrect paperwork, not sure if courts received the correct paperwork. Had paralegal issues that got these items wrong and tried to bill me for it. Had delays even though they had the information to submit 1.5 months earlier, tried to bill me for the delays and submitting extension of time to do so. I reached out to Jered Harris several times with these issues, which he apologized for, however didn't stop there. Sometimes is took weeks to get a response. JLG has no problem billing though, that is the one thing they are consistant at even though the delays and clerical errors are their fault. I spoke to their paralegal about all the issues and others. I had expressed to Jered that the delays are causing an issue with me missing out on seeing my son and delaying the child custody process which I am wanting 50/50 split. He tried to assure me it wasn't. I expressed to him the more delays the less time I get to see my son in the meantime which is the only important thing. There were more billing issues with JLG for them charging me interest on top of charges they billed me for for delays they caused which took them 2 weeks to respond and fix. They then wiped out my retainer even though I said I would pay the bill for the correct charges and would not pay for the delays or billing to me for the delays they tried to charge me for. They sent me another bill 3 days later for approximately $2400. After talking to the paralegal 2 weeks prior and explaining how little I was getting to see my son and asking when mediation would be scheduled, although previously expressed to Jered, Jered said he wanted to get a temporary order so I could see my son more. I sent an email to paralegal and Jered asking more about what was going on the the disputed bills. Jered then responded saying they would not schedule the mediation until I replenished my retainer. In that same email was a delay prevention order because JLG had not scheduled the mediation from the judge. This means that JLG was just trying to get me to spend more money then actually doing there job and getting this case completed. If you want an Attorney that will waste your time, money, clerical errors, and suck as much money out of you as they can without doing their job, Johnson Law Group is the Attorney for you. Waste of time and money. Jered Harris nor the paralegal responded to my last calls or emails askong for answers to questions about why there was yet another delay prevention order sent because of their lack of doing their job. They could have scheduled the mediation weeks prior yet did not. This resulted in a delay prevention order from the courts. After I let them know that I would no longer need Johnson Law Group due to their incompetence, lack of communication, consistent mistakes, and consistent delays. They still leave there name attached to the case. Don't waste your time or money. Stephanie this isn't about your fees but your overall handling of the case or lack there of. I've reached out to J.LG. several times by phone and email with no response whatsoever. You guys failed miserably and charged me a lot of money to do so with lots of mistakes the entire time you guys were hired. There were also several delays due to J.L.G not doing your job. This was brought to the attention of Jered Harris, Jenny, and Carrie Ford-Coates throught the entire time you guys were hired. And still continued after the fact. read more
